I thought I had nearly zero interest in dolls, so this video was an eye opener for me. I was completely captivated as I watched Shelley talk about her love of fabric and of the creative source for her signature hair styles. I'm an artist with a pretty good command of color, but I don't think I know of any other artist (myself included) who can put together collages of color in such a wide range of hues and textures as Shelley Thornton. Fabulous work, presented in a delightful and informative video interview. Thank you, Rachel Hoffman. And a big congratulations to my old friend, Shelly Thornton!
I love watching this video many times. Thank you for making a great recording of the exhibition. The dolls look so beautiful and so well made. I am so in love with them . What a wornderful srtist and doll maker

Thank you Shelly and Rachel for this video. How very very interesting. I actually started with fabric/textile dolls way back when. They had all been gifted away.
The Moderator of this video mentioned that the paper doll might be mentioned but never was. I cant find a you tube video for a paper doll video from you. Did you do one?If so what is the video called. Thank you. I made fabric dolls in the 1990s. But as I grew older and older I have found certain sewing techniques things I cannot do so decided I would try paper dolls.Thank you
It’s not up to you to judge what she wants to make. Shame you have to be leaving this comment. Also, it’s spelled “they’re” when you are using a contraction of “they are.”

She reminds me of Grayson Perry

Someone needs to teach the filmmaker to NEVER touch pieces there are in the exhibition!! How rude!!!!
Hi - Rachel here, the filmmaker. Shelley and I are friends, and it was definitely OK.
Shame there all white dolls !

Take a look of this video of her house / studio. Look around, she also makes ethnic dolls
