      The reason my bathroom is still a mess because I can’t find a good bathroom fitter to do a job like this😭
      Majority of people spend thousands on a lovely bathroom but after 12 months trouble starts and mould growth because they have not sealed it like we have seen on hear. To many cow boys who just wants a quick pay day.

And don’t want to pay anything like going down the abacus route , we do get the odd customer that has had a bad experience so now they want it done properly , but it seems to be that way now, like they almost have to have a bad experience with a cheap install first to realise.

    Roger, can you do a video on different silicone's as I've to remove my newly installed walkin shower screen due to crap silicone I was sold in the local hardware. I myself done a test with the crap everbuild silicone, dow silicone and unibond silicone, where I put a 4inch line of each on a scrap tile and tried to remove them, 1st place dow, 2nd unibond, 3rd everbuild which I managed to pull off like a plaster!

    • @SkillBuilder
      @SkillBuilder  4 года назад +1

      Never rely on silicone, it will let you down eventually. We use a waterproof tape called No More Leaks which comes in the installation kit. You will never get it off. We then have the tile and then silicone but if that fails the water finds its way into the trap.

      We will get the price for the kit this week. As for access, I hate the panels. These valves are accessed by sliding out the shelf. That is what I try to do but sometimes it is necessary to take the cupboard out if there is no shelf. Better still is to put them in the airing cupboard.

    Roger Bisby's work is absoulty bloody amazing he's attention to detail is stunning (second to none) he makes it look so easy. I wonder if Roger does bathroom conversions for a living both domestic and comercial. I would of loved to of haved him convert my old and tired bathroom just like he does in this video with the shower, basin and toilet. As it is i'm having a guy from 'Check-A-Trade.com' convert my old bathroom to a modren full sized shower room with toilet and basin. He come's with over 100 great reviews from householders with marks out of 10/10 and belive me I have done my home work and have read every single one of those 100 reviews here. I love Roger's idea with the recesed shower cabnet area for gels and shampoos brilliant idea (never thought of it here) so that's something I will have to ask the guy whos doing my shower bathroom here as well.

    I want exactly this shower room, mine would be that size too. Any idea on a ball park cost? Ideally I'd just get you to do it! 😁

    like the tidy water pipes even you never gonna see them. I'm from the Netherlands and I don't know any different than we put a foam between de tiling and the actual toilet (pan?) Guess it's for squaeking against the tiles. Couldn't see that on the video.Is that just another way of doing it?

      We used to use that foam and Abacus do sell it but we found it was uneccessary.

    Good stuff Roger. Just wondering, could you put the floor and shower tray in before boarding the wall? Then the lip of the shower tray drain is behind the wall boards. Love your work!

      I used to do that but if you do then you need to take care that you fill the void and get the position right. That tape is so good that I am now happy to do it this way. I have tried to pull that tape off and it is impossible.

    Great educational content again! How do you mitigate noise transmission via vibration / resonance (the main disadvantage to dot and dab)? Or is it mainly an issue for plasterboard and not your special material? Thanks!

      The sound proofing from structural noise is fairly good but if you are building stud walls it still helps to use Rockwool Soundslab
