So True!!! I was at the NY concert from the Saturday before this. the vibes were all love! love this band and only had great experiences with other fans
Saw this live from Australia via the livestream. Not gonna lie I got a bit emotional. What a band letting this happen. Amazing stuff. Also you did Joey proud Timmy. RIP Joey.
I didn’t even consider the reach of the live streams when I felt crazy enough to try this. I can’t believe Joey will be remembered on other continents. Thank you for your kind words, keep him in your heart.
Man you made a whole community remember your friend with that! Joey is now part of the gizzstory and I bet he's fucking stoked about it, wherever he is right now! You rock, dude!
So sorry for your loss Timmy, you gave Joey the best tribute anyone could ask for by absolutely shredding on his favorite song. What a special moment, you are an amazing friend
I was pretty busy last night so I only caught part of the livestream, but I did see this moment. It was very special. I'm 63 years old so I've experienced the loss of so many friends and family in my life. My best friend Jeff passed away in 2015. On the night of the one year anniversary of his passing I had a dream in which he and I were sitting at a table talking and he said, "You know, I haven't really gone anywhere. After all, we're having this conversation right now, right?" Peace to you, my friend, and peace to your friend Joey.
This is a moment that exists forever. Sadness, remembrance, pain, joy and all that makes a soul live for the the second of current times and fear another.
literally instant tears. we really are so lucky to be fans of such an amazing group of people. and to have people like you and your boy joey among us. keep it up man!
I saw this live on the stream and admittedly got super emotional about it. And am getting emotional watching it again. What an amazing tribute to your friend and you absolutely killed it. Gizz already had a ton of my respect but this just put it over the top. RIP JOEY
I saw it in person. It was really cool of them to do this. It was also a surreal show. The venue is right by Logan airport so we had planes flying behind us the entire night. There was heat lightning in the clouds which added to the light show and it rained as soon as they started playing heavy.
Never seen a more fitting tribute for a dearly departed brother timmy.... you and joey will always be together in gizzverse history.... rest in peace brother joey x
I lost a brother around the same time as this show. I had just recently turned him onto the band as he was learning to play the bass guitar. Love you Glen. I'll see you around no doubt. Much luv n gratitude. ❤
Rest in peace Glen. I am so sorry you lost him man. I just know he's kept up those bass lessons, he probably can sit in with Bootsy Collins any time. I'd bet he's a slapping menace by now.
my good friend mac (rest is peace) died at age 19 due to an overdose. he was the person who put me onto this band, as well as many other bands. the experiences i shared with him allowed me to have a greater appreciation for music in general & he is the reason i learned to play an instrument. this hits home for me. just another reason why KG is one of the greatest bands of all time
Hey man! I was at this show last night with my friends, and this was truly a powerful, emotional moment. You're clearly an amazing guitarist and person in general, and you absolutely crushed it onstage!! Even if you couldn't see him, your friend Joey was right next to you on that stage, and I'm sure he's incredibly proud of you. So sorry for your loss, and hopefully this was an effective step towards healing for you. 🤘❤
I was in the crowd for this. I can’t imagine what amount of pain you’ve gone through, but i can say that this was the hypest thing of the night. You fucking rocked it Timmy, and i just know Joey was smiling down from the great gizzard concert in the sky. Gizz is legendary for letting you do this, and you’re legendary for doing it. You made the night that extra amount of special, making it my all time favorite concert. Thank you Timmy and rest in peace Joey!
I've only found out about KGLW in the last year or so and I'm totally sold. I was torn about seeing them live since I haven't gotten through all of their catalog, but after seeing the streams and these videos I'll never miss a show. What a terrific, wholesome band. RIP Joey.
That was sick, mate. What a great tribute to your friend, I'm sure he would've been absolutely radiant knowing you got the opportunity to do this and absolutely crushed it to boot. Nice personal lore moment as well to say you absolutely shredded an ITRN track with the Gizz
This was such a special moment. You did AMAZING! I was worried that since you didn't have an earpiece that it was going to be nearly impossible. BUT YOU SLAYED IT. You made Joey proud!!! I love you and all these weirdos who got to share this incredible moment!!
That fact that he did it with no clicker, on a guitar that wasn’t his, on a stage he’s never played on in front of thousands and thousands of people, right next to all the members of your favorite band, and STILL crushed it is fucking insane. What Joey said at the end was right, he belongs in his own band.
This was super special. Beautiful honoring a friend, didn't even know him but could ABSOLUTELY tell he was there in ether. Big time. You did right by him and I'm sure his Mom is glad he has you for a friend.
Thank you so much for a incredible momemt Timmy. Was in the crowd in Boston and as soon as you got on stage it reminded me of a good friend of mine. He passed away from cystic fibrosis and his last concert was King Gizzard in 2022 in Pittsburgh and they closed the show with Float Along Fill Your Lungs. Ironically enough they closed the Boston show with the same song with his father also in attendance. A show I'll always cherish thanks to you
that was the most beautiful tribute you could've done, and i'm sure joey listened to every note. also, i kept thinking that i can play some gizz songs but i could never have the guts to do what you just did. i mean did joey walker helped you with the pedal set? couldn't get that in the video. anyways, that was insane and i wish much love for you and a peaceful rest for your friend. xoxo from brazil
WOW. It takes a ton of courage for a band to let a stranger they just met play guitar on stage with them. The guy could have sucked and totally ruined the song. Yet they said yes with a second thought.
Probably the coolest thing I’ve ever seen from live music. So many emotions. What an epic tribute.
Was in the crowd. We have the kindest most loving fanbase of any band. This was so sweet.

THIS is the best version of the song
This is EPIC and what a fantastic way to honor your friend. He heard this!!!!
Man you made a whole community remember your friend with that! Joey is now part of the gizzstory and I bet he's fucking stoked about it, wherever he is right now! You rock, dude!

Damn, you shredded! And the vocals too! Well done mate.
That's a core memory if I've ever seen one, absolutely legendary moment.
There's no way he isn't up there somewhere beaming. I'm glad you were able to honor him in such an historically epic way.
WHAT A BAND
Man I love everything about King GIzz and the Community. RIP to Joey, Timmy seems to be the best friend you can have. Timmy you Rule!
They led with Peri in Toronto and I love it now. Thanks Joey

How is it being there? What did you hear meanwhile there?
WOW. It takes a ton of courage for a band to let a stranger they just met play guitar on stage with them. The guy could have sucked and totally ruined the song. Yet they said yes with a second thought.
