I purchased my boots from you last fall, I’ve been into the store twice about the squeak both times I was told to oil it. They were squeaking from the moment I put them on. I’ve had them on my feet for a year now I have done tons of different remedies. The other pair of boots I bought from you no problems. A cobbler in Spokane told me that the glue most likely separated between the two layers of leather, if not between the leather and the rubber and that’s what’s causing the squeak.
My NICKS are just at 1 yr old and worn daily in dry ground climate. I take excellent care of them and overall satisfied though expensive. Then the SQUEAK comes and not only annoys me, but other that have to hear it. It’s definitely an insole issue and floor surface is not relevant. I can live with the SQUEAK, but I definitely do not promote the fact that I paid good money for that squeak as it’s embarrassing.
Cannot believe this guy is the production manager and doesn't understand this. Because leathers rub and he' s out to lunch he actually said you need to oil the inside. WOW
I have 5 different pairs of custom boots. Nicks are the only ones that make noise. I’ve tried everything under the sun to fix it. Im sending them back. I have no idea what I’m gonna do with $850 boot that I can’t wear.
Disingenuous. If the squeak originates at the leather shank or forefoot area from 2 pieces of leather moving against one another, there is absolutely NOTHING that will fix it outside of a resole.
@@righturnclydeI (and some other people supported me) have no idea what’s the difference between the models except the look. We would like to know how are they different from each other and which actions and activities are best suited for.

My Nicks squeak so loud I don't wear them anymore... and it's only 1 boot that does it. Really sad for a pair of high-end custom boots to just sit in my closet. I reached out to Nicks and was told it was normal, just wear them and stop being a baby. :/ None of my other leather boots have ever made as much noise.
That's the reason why many bootmakers use a rubber midsole or some kind of textile or paper between the insole and midsole or outsole. Leather against leather is gonna squeak almost guarranteed.
@@rolle820 you're probably correct. The one thing I'll emphasize is that one boot squeaks like an old rusty door, the other is as quiet as my cat stalking a mouse. It's a shame... it really turns me off wearing the boots, especially given the large amount of money and time spent getting them.
The reason I haven't bought the Gamebreaker is because I'm afraid of squeaking. Have you taken any extra precautions to ensure that boot in particular is quiet?
When you see something that prominently displays something leather, a jacket, boots, pants, whatever, the sound inevitably follows. The squeak, to me, is an iconic part of wearing leather to begin with. For me, it’s cool and interesting and I miss it when it goes away. Don’t be embarrassed by the squeak of an expensive shoe. Sound off proudly.
My BuilderPros developed a horrible squeak in the ball of the foot. Poured some warm Leather Honey inside the boot and let it sit for 24hrs. Squeak is gone and the boots are wearable again.
I have a pair of Drew's that started squeaking (loud) about a couple months into wearing them daily (no water) once they were fully broken in. Reached out to them, and was told that they'd probably need a full rebuild, and would cost me about as much as I paid for them, so now they're collecting dust in my closet.
In Germany people says: "Wenn Schuhe quietschen, sind sie noch nicht bezahlt." I try it in english "If Boots are squeaking, they are not payed." (It means new, not stolen. 😉)
@@Nippeltitsch I’m gonna give this comment its first thumbs up. I like it. It’s the opposite of stoicism. The Spartan phrase would be “New boots squeak”. This one’s better.
Nick's boots are low quality and the 2 pairs I've purchased from them throughout the years squeak like crazy. Much happier with my Blundstone boots that were a FRACTION of the price and did not have any "hand made" quirks (which are really QC issues posing as hand made charm).

I have many west coast hand made boots. The only ones that squeak are my nicks.
What are some other brands that you have?
I’ve never had a boot with a squeaky sole. Most of my squeaking is temporary and seems to come from the kiltie breaking in and shifting its position.
Good video! Mine haven’t squeaked in years now!!!
“F***ing squeaking” 😂😂😂😂😂 such a funny open image
Saddles squeak too.

Aduh sayang sekali sepatunya sampai di potong potong...
My boots don’t squeak because I don’t have them. And I don’t have them because there’s no ultimate boot models guide.
Day 13 of asking for it.
What does this mean? You want Nicks to create an Ultimate boot models guide? The options are all there just pick the ones you like.

What size are they? Lol
What a bunch of whiney losers. Wear flip flops with your skirt.
Condition the leather insole with Obenauf's boot oil. My boots took 3 applications over 1week.

Quality hand made shoes are made to size and do not sqeak. They are made by proper shoemakers and cost a bit more.

Your first claim is as exactly as wrong as your last claim is right.
Never thought I'd see someone saying Nicks are lower quality than blundstones.
Quality is defined as "meeting specifications"...
