The shenanigans with Sony very nearly meant I didn't pick this game up even as a PC player, but then again much like with our time in AFE dedication means powering through bad times. Twelve hours so far and far from disappointed. Hope I get to run into you again on some planet out there!
Glad you're taking to it as much as AFE! Definitely a game that rewards learning all the ins and outs. Come join us on warrior's discord if you're not already on it, always a few groups running every night!
Wow! The way you and Specter cleared out the Stratagem Jammer and Detector tower at around 8:52 was nice and clean! I see you had fun running the same build as last video throughout the defense of X-45. Makes sense though, the railgun and counter sniper both were still put to good use, and the free commando as backup for the bigger stuff.
That's just how you can play when you know your teammate knows what he's doing :P Yeah, it's a real fun build. A lot of emphasis on precision with all of those weapons. Also just gets tiring always taking the AC / AMR, so it's nice to mix things up.
I tried MG43 against bots with peak physique. Fun to use but not being able to pen hulks from the front really hurts, just makes you question why you dont have the HMG instead
Yeah - I tried it out again recently and there were just so few upsides to taking the MG over the HMG. Guess that and the Stalwart are just firmly bug weapons.
I like to think Stalwart is strictly for bugs, given the less enemy types with armor too tough for Stalwart to pen. The higher RPM option compliments the high ammo cap for great crowd control. MG is for quickly clearing enemies below heavies. If you want to take out Hulks, Tanks, Fac. Striders, make sure you have options for that - HMG, imo, is there to be an anti heavy MG. Don't use it for crowds - rather, use it for just the elites and higher.
I like the idea of Railgun command combo. Railgun has become my new favorite support weapon vs bots since last night. I've gotten so sick of rocket and heavy devastors that I am gonna run it all the time now, the one taps are so nice. I was running Railgun+rocket sentry for gunships while doing solos, lowkey cooks if you wanna try it out.
Nice! Had always meant to try the Railgun + Rocket Sentry/Autocannon Sentry combo, they were basically our only options before the Commando came out. Definitely will try it out next time I run Railgun!
@@newspiked7385 nah man I don't think it's too crazy, I was just curious whether it was similar to mine lol. Right now I'm at 220,247 kills (122,502 bugs and 72,235 bots) and 1,957 deaths. Pretty sure you play more helldive than I do though, which is definitely the only reason I have a "better" k/d ratio. The majority of my play time has been with my gf on diff 7.
@@lukemccuan7772 those are good numbers regardless! I'm guessing my lower bot kills is because I do a lot of stealth runs on bots where I don't engage a lot of enemies.
@@newspiked7385 @newspiked7385 Hell yea, I remember when I first found out how to be stealthy in this game and ever since I try to sneak up on strat jammers and different optionals but I always end up going loud af after the first few kills lol. If I remember right, I actually learned a lot from one of your videos on Malevalon Creek when you had the AMR and jump pack. That shit was badass, I immediately got on and tried it out lol.
Great video to show why nobody plays railgun. It can kill striders and hit hulk eyes, that's about it. You used Commando at last half the game play here, if not more. Top kek. Pls make railgun have a point again. :(
Huh? For my other railgun commando vid I might understand, but if anything I barely used the commando in this one, since I had no gunships to take on I could stick to the Railgun + DCS most of the time. If I mained Commando and dropped the Railgun, I'd be very weak against Strider packs, and run out of ammo for groups with multiple Hulks / Gunships. I could take Scorcher but it'd be slower and less accurate at killing Troopers and Devastators than the DCS, and slower at Scout Striders than the Railgun. You don't need one weapon to do an average job of it all, if you have specialist weapons that can do each role better.

Loving the consistent uploads, by far my favorite Helldivers videos to watch. Thanks, Spiked.
New Spiked to get the morning started - wonderful!

Wish railcannon can take out gunship easily. I would love to use it on bot missions.
The Commando has really opened up Railgun runs for me, and I usually hate taking multiple support weapons.
Looks so easy when YOU play it ;)
Hey spiked, how many kills and deaths do you have total?
As of today, 208,736 kills (142,722 bugs, 39,367 bots), and 2,433 deaths. Nothing crazy I think?
