It happened to me for the first time a couple days ago, I was 20 seconds from extraction and the game said “you know those 42 minutes you’ve been doing this mission? Yeah that’s all down the drain. No refunds” They should treat it like dying if you crash, you get all the benefits except for extraction so you don’t get cheated out of the compensation.
It happens every now and then;it's so fucking annoying. My laptop may not be the best but it crashes on almost every other mission. Wasted time and lost medals+liberation ughh...
your videos give me so much insight into the game. big fan of the covert ops style and how you prove the meta doesnt matter, just good decision making.
With my work keeping me busy when friends are online or with my friends busy playing Helldivers with other friends, watching awsome runs like this gives me motivation to keep throwing myself into the Hellpod in solo again and again. Great content!
I’ve now taken to bringing the spear to solo bot missions, it can destroy factories, hulks (usually, sometimes it decides to be stupid and not one shot what it should one shot), tanks, and defense cannons… also jammers… that’s pretty useful I guess. It’s extremely useful, but the spear sometimes doesn’t like to lock on the *giant, unmoving target* and is extremely frustrating. And with it I bring rail cannon, 110mm rocket pods, and airstrike so I never have to go inside of a fortress because they’re an absolute pain to storm
Love the vids. Just an idea/question, could you also include the recording of you picking your landing spot? If there’s any rhyme or reason to why you pick certain spots I’d like to see what your thought process is

Honestly more reliable than trying to deploy on the point sometimes. Those Detector Towers are the worst, sometimes seems like the whole area on the point isn't deployable for a Hellbomb.
Fantastic run, definitely got joel'd at the end there lol. That stealth jetpack entry in the beginning was super smooth. I would like to add that if youre ever worried about fall damage, jet packing off the ledge will negate any sort of drop height with its little landing booster. Congrats! For Automatons, yeah, the laser will take out way more, and for solo stealth runs the 3 uses should be enough. 500kg still has a niche for taking out Distractor Beacons without calling down a Hellbomb tho. 500kg better for killing bile titans on bug missions too.
@newspiked7385 Noted I'll give it a try for sure then, do love my 500kg but it does feel like it's blast radius doesn't match up to the explosion size often.
Actually haven't soloed it since they changed the map and added the rear slope, but I usually take EMS Mortar, Explosive Mortar, Eagle Airstrike and then AMR / Autocannon
Hey what's your PC build and graphics settings? I usually can't even hit devastators with my sniper because the second they shoot at me my PC starts dying... probably need to upgrade my processor
Yup! Very interesting stuff that lined up with what I was experiencing in-game. Don't think it changes much of how I'll approach missions as I'm going for the all clear, though getting some secondaries done before you do the primaries makes sense.
Does you happen to know what are the requirements for a bot drop, I play very similarly however when I’ve snuck into compounds and shoot a lone gunner a bot drop is called in by another bot on the far side. Similarly you don’t seem to get as many bot drops when throwing air strikes into compounds to take out fabricators, and I feel like it’s very random if that causes a bot drop or not.
It's honestly a little random for me as well sometimes. The situation you described shouldn't really happen though unless another guard is watching the gunner you shot, or they're close enough to hear your shot. Another thing I've noticed, and this may be placebo, is that once you've been spotted, if you go aggressive and engage them in combat, they seem less likely to try and raise the alarm, whereas if you try and retreat and end up somewhere where they can't shoot you or immediately start a combat routine, they're more likely to call the bot drop. May just be that by going aggressive, you're killing them all before they can call the bot drop tho, who knows.
I had to switch my mount key to tap alt, as I'd previously unbound it when switching dodge to space, seems to work fine. Afaik you jump higher if you're at full stamina.
Did a run of that today, you can simply throw an orbital laser into the bunker base and it'll destroy it, a 500kg can do it as well. It's weird, bot stealth can be very straightforward if you just yeet a stratagem over those base walls.
At long distances, try and aim slightly down and to the right of where you want to hit, as the actual zero is up and to the left of the crosshairs. I've heard you can turn on a crosshair function in steam overlay, but I've never tried it myself. For close targets it doesn't make a big difference, you can just use the crosshairs.

you've blown my mind. I also learned recently that bug nests can be closed with the autocannon, after my seasoned friend insisted it couldn't

With my luck, every time I tried, a bot would spawn and bounce the nade back.

Didn't know you can deploy the hellbomb outside to blow the jamming tower. I always break my stealth when calling for it.

Nothing too high end, I'm on a 3060, but yeah that sounds annoying :/ Some loadouts don't need so much finesse, but sniping devastators will.

How do you do that with the jump pack? For me it only ever works at full sprint, otherwise it just turns into a dive

Only in helldivers are air strikes and orbital lasers considered stealthy.
:P Main thing is if they can't find you, if you're not having to engage them in a standup fight, you're good
