KC has always been about Fripp, this is really allowing Belew to reclaim what was so successful about the 80s KC which was his songwriting and performance. Fripp demanded so much from him and he delivered. Belew has always been able to make the most extreme and experimental so much fun and non alienating. Doing this while standing next to the others is just astounding.

One of the many reasons why he is such a pleasure to see live. He's always smiling. Having a good time. It means so much to know that the artist is as happy to see you as you are to see him.
Carey used the drum ending of Waiting Man for Opiate back in 1992, and here he is playing the original together with two of the original band, in Bruford's role. I'm sure it must feel amazing!
Wow, Adrian's voice hasn't changed much at all in 40 years. And if this is indicative of this lineups reimagining of these songs I... dig it. Still just as groove-oriented but a tad heavier. Very nice.
I’d say if there’s one takeaway from this project for maybe some of the younger fans, it’s finding out what kind of a figure in the world of music Robert Fripp is when no less a giant of the guitar than Steve Vai has to come up with simplified versions of Fripp’s guitar parts. Sounding great so far!
@@W1LLi4m_ Yeah that's the thing. It may be not spot on right now but EVERY band needs some gigs before everything falls into place, right? I am curious what it will sound like after say 10-20. These are pretty good musicians remember? ;) And to see Adrian happy is quite rewarding in itself!

After covid hit, I promised myself I would see King Crimson if I ever got the chance. It turns out that Fripp will not be touring that fantastic 3-drummer incarnation of KC for the foreseeable future. BUT lightning strikes and we get the opportunity to hear the music of the early-80's version of KC. Saw them last night. They were great, and the audience was very enthusiastic. So buy tickets and T-shirts and savor the live performances. The Adrian Belew "romantic songs": Heatbeat, Matte Kudasai, Waiting Man were standouts. A great time.
Fantastic show! Other than 20% of the audience that couldn’t keep their months shut, talking about if the dog is okay at home alone for 5 hours and if the patio furniture will still be on sale at Home Depot tomorrow… 🤦♂️ I loved the renditions of the songs! Everyone delivered! However, something appeared off with Mr. Vai last night. I pray his health is okay. Perhaps, he’s been burning the late night candles learning Fripp’s parts. He sounded great, but looked like he needs a drip line of plasma and a two day nap.
