I like how Godzilla’s first mission is to save the other Earth Defenders (Anguirus, Mothra, Rodan) before attempting to escape the island. Shows how much of team guy he is and how he cares about lives more than freedom (for this incarnation).
something I've always admired about this game is how monsters from each class will help each other. Earth Defenders will help Earth Defenders, Mutants will help Mutants, Aliens will help Aliens, and the GDF monsters will help GDF monsters. it gives a sense of "hey, we're on the same team. let's not fight each other". wish more Godzilla games were like that but ehh
Epilogue idea: "Having saved Earth so many times, Godzilla and the other Earth Defenders had irrevocably gained humanity's favor. It was decided that efforts to contain the monsters would be the only route. Monster Island was expanded and made more pleasant for the monsters. But more monsters were added over time. And while some would easily be defenders, some needed to be reminded who was the King."
Perhaps the Earth Defenders could be allowed to explore the Earth occasionally, so long as they don’t do too much damage. Like the could explore the coastlines of various countries or through uninhabited areas on the mainland
Harnessing the power of the atom wasn't a very good idea, either, but once the cat's out of the bag - whatta ya gonna do? Maybe Godzilla can keep those pesky humans in line. Every time a factory complex knowingly skirts EPA restrictions they can have Godzilla knock 'em straight.
Once again, Godzilla managed to repel the Vortaak invasion, however in destroying their mothership, it seems that all future invasion attempts, at least from the Vortaak, are unlikely to ever take place. But in destroying the rogue mutant monsters, specifically Spacegodzilla and the mighty Destoroyah, Earth began to see the Godzilla, and all of the less deliberately destructive kaiju, somewhat differently. Godzilla and the other kaiju were allowed more leniency in being able to roam the world as they pleased (at least, excluding populated areas). However, in spite of the newfound peace between humanity and monsterkind, the world would always know who the true king was.
I generally consider Godzilla’s story mode (assuming you do everything possible in a single run while getting the good ending) to be the game’s canon story, with the other monsters and their variations being what-ifs.
This version of Godzilla is the Millennium version, introduced in 1999 in the movie Godzilla 2000. New films have come and gone, but this is my favorite look among Godzilla's various incarnations.
Godzilla 2000: After defeating SpaceGodzilla and saving Earth, Godzilla quickly returned to Monster Island only to find a new threat awaiting the remainder of the Earth Defenders. King Kong and the rest of his species were resurrected due to the crystal radiation and Kong began to inherit all the abilities of every crystal surge. With the aid of his species, Kong now wages war against Godzilla and the remainder of the Earth Defenders
Hey SuperGodzillaGaming, Godzilla 2000 is my main when it comes to Godzilla Unleashed. And also, when dealing with all of the different crystals in this game, I had no idea that Godzilla 2000's "Tail Swing" move would destroy the crystals that fast. Wow.

Unleashed had *such* potential to be the best Godzilla game. Good story with actual different endings depending on the faction you played as AND your own actions (See: Tyrant ending for any faction aside from Mutant, though it *is* disappointing you can't be a good guy if you're a Mutant. Side note, this is especially apparent when you look at the borderline false advertising marketing for Godzilla PS4 that *says* you can be a good guy as Godzilla, but not really), massive monster roster with very few clones including two awesome original monsters that Toho considers official, varied and unique locations despite the fact there's so few of them, a *slight* upgrade in accuracy to the movies from the previous 2 games (More authentic monster roars/cries, some beam sounds got changed to be the accurate ones (see: Megalon) and Rodan and MechaGodzilla 3 got renamed to Fire Rodan and Kiryu. I mean the monsters still moon jump and shit but it's still an improvement), and the multiplayer is still top notch fun with good balance (with the exception of Destoroyah's bugged horn katana...there's a reason why he's banned in my household) If only not for those god forsaken motion controls...ruins the entire experience and bogs it down to just a mediocre game.
I have to agree. Whenever I play or watch this, I'm enamored by some of the visuals, mostly by how fluid the monsters walk and attack. They look great in action. But the motion controls ruin my experience every time. If only homebrew allowed for GameCube or Classic Controller support!
Drew Seelig I actually like the motion controls. Gives it a unique feel beyond other 3D fighting games. Most of the time, I can get the move I want, though sometimes it fails, but that happens to me with every fighting game I play. Plus, I don’t think some gameplay features would work as well without the Wii control scheme, like Rush Attacks, moving while firing a beam or the Ping Pong style beam battles, which I like over the Rock, Paper, Scissors of Save the Earth, where it was nearly impossible to win a beam battle against the AI on higher difficulties due to the pinpoint accuracy of swapping colors.
The controls aren't THAT bad. Everytime I play it, yes it sometimes stalls, but most of the time I can get the move I want and I have no problem. I never got the whole deal about the motion controls of the game, I guess it might be due to me not growing up with the other two games in the Atari Trilogy or I just got used to the WII mechanics so quickly.
Wow, this a great video SuperGodzillaGaming! You were one of the most efficient players I've seen when it comes to one on one fights, destroying power surge crystals, and fighting those crystal tower bosses in Sydney. I really wish a video like this would have been around back in 2007 when I got this game. It certainly would have helped me complete these levels faster. Also, you were not kidding when you said that this would take you ages to render. 1 hr. 15 min. and 49 sec. is a new record in length for your channel. I know you had a couple of other videos that were close to this length before this one, but they only happened every once in awhile. You're going to be releasing videos like these in a much shorter time span.
Hey, this is actually my brother doing the story mode runs (have him linked in the description)! He's a far more proficient player than I am at this game, and knows way more tricks than I do which you'll see as the campaigns go on. He was also the 2nd player whenever we did modded video requests; I still feel like he was taking it way too easy on me in those matches... And yes, the main reason for the length is due to recording the various story mode cutscenes. This'll be the same for Destoroyah, Gigan, and Kiryu, so most others will probably end up being 40~50 minutes since they'll be skipping them afterwards. (I do have non-GU-related videos that are longer than this one as well, one of my earliest videos is for Super Godzilla, which clocks in at around 1 hour 30 min.)

The funny thing from PS2 version is in the big trouble mission, there are 3 monsters. You, and your Ally and king ghidorah. But in Wii, you fight king ghidorah with 2 allies
I know the blue crystal is for health and yellow crystal is for breath attack, and those crystals from the edge boost your critical mass meter. Can you tell me what the big crystals in different colors do? Never understood them when I was young.
KaitaoftheFourze it's a special crystal that has formed. If u destroy all of them the power is lost, if u beat the affected monster u get the power crystal to use in every story mission
Godzilla destroyed the Vortaak mothership, destroyed the Crystals, and kicked Spacegodzilla back to his dimension. Again. How many times will he have to do this? It doesn't really matter, in his mind. As long as he's here, Earth is off limits for aliens and crystal clones. Maybe the humans will realize how important he and his allies are and stop trying to corral them onto an island that's too small for one kaiju, let alone all of them.
It's weird how when you fight burning Ghidorah it's only Godzilla fire Rodan and Anguirus? Godzilla and Rodan are okay but Anguirus why didn't they put Mothra that could have been a nostalgic feeling since three of those monsters fought King Ghidorah Miss opportunity
Honesly all the GDF need to do is get their ice cannons, shoot infected monsters and win no more crystal monster infection. Even works with critical mass
I never really understood how the resistances, strengths, and weaknesses worked in GSTE and G:U I thought they were extra details to make each monsters unique and different but can anyone explain how they work?
They're much more apparent in GSTE - for example, Megalon can actually be healed by electric moves, but he takes harsh damage from blunt attacks like punches or body slams. Meanwhile, Moguera 2 HATES electricity and can be dropped really easily with it, but can tank blunt attacks more effectively than Megalon can. In GU, they say these weaknesses/resistances return, but it doesn't seem as prevalent to me... Every attack feels like it does the same damage to every monster, no matter their defenses, which is kind of lame. At least in GSTE, you could see how some monsters took more damage from specific moves than others.
I'd say the Wii version. While the PS2 one has "better" controls, monsters like to lock up during battle, and there are so many bugs with attacks and movement in general. The worst thing about the Wii version is how it uses the motion sensor controls, which really take some getting used to, but it's definitely not impossible to learn.
I really like doing these and I should start them after replaying a classic game of my childhood. Basically aftermath ideas. (Not stealing from Archer-Bro) Godzilla: Godzilla, being exposed too these new crystals after his triumph over SpaceGodzilla granted his radioactive power even more energy. Using this energy for good and the protection of earth, Godzilla wanted to no longer be contained on Monster Island and preferred to roam freely and peacefully. He also wanted his kind too not be hunted constantly and treated as animals. So Godzilla did that, he used his beam to surround Monster Island with toxic radiation so no human can disrupt the island. Godzilla and his other fellow monsters along with a monster he encountered on his journey to destroy SpaceGodzilla, Titanosaurus. Who really was a gentle peaceful monster. Godzilla would only leave his island if a event similar to this would occur again.
I wonder if Xenilla is using the Crystal's as a means of mind control......to get the monsters infected on his side.....the Crystal's purpose, in my mind, could be a pretty crucial thing to figure out.
Hey SuperGodzillaGaming, here are my favorites in all of the factions: Earth Defenders: Godzilla 2000 Global Defense Force (GDF): MechaGodzilla 2 Mutants: Titanosaurus Aliens: MechaGodzilla
Hey SGG i was wondering can you please let the audio logs from the missions finish first before you start the mission? i hope you know what i mean. sorry for my bad english.
Hey, we recorded all the audio logs we could during our PS2 Godzilla Unleashed runs, which is why we skipped most of them here. They can be listened to here, mostly in the first couple of videos: ruclips.net/p/PLuRy_IvnMiLrqvYE3e6cOy7p4P3Ka3NQq
It seems the game has its fair share of followers, those who grew up with it tend to really like it! But most older fans found it hard to get into because of the motion controls and changed combat system (super high jumps, lack of knock-down moves, removal of Rage attacks).
I think this might be what you're referring to... Archer-Bro left comments like these scattered across some videos, but they were compiled here: www.tohokingdom.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=1514427#p1514427
Ok. How about if the Story line is like Mortal Kombat X (12 chapters, which characters would be which chapter, what 4 opponents would each face, E.T.C.)with the Kaiju's talking (I know they do Monster talk but I mean it was translated to human language. Like if they talk, to humans it would be grunts and roars but to each other it would be like human language. You know what I mean?) Basically I'm creating a fanfiction story of Godzilla unleashed as if it were made by the same people who did Mortal Kombat X and I need some with it.
SuperGodzillaGaming oh ok. I normally play on hard mode and once you get used to it, it becomes easy. That is, if you know Anguirus' fighting style perfectly, can stand being bombarded with energy attacks every time you use yours, and being prepared to attack when your enemy gets up.
Here is what my roster of Unleashed would be if it were to be remade on Ps4 and Xbox One. I imagine this time the game would use the physics and engine of the Ps4 Godzilla game. 26:27 I dont know Why but i laught Miko Said that 2 Mutants teaming up (in this Case Krystalak and Titanosaurus) 38:18 It Dosent Look Like there teaming Up Titanosaurus does NOTHING But Krystalak atack Godzilla AND Titanosaurus 😅
I wish Hedorah was in this game, but no he's in Godzilla Unleashed Double Smash for the DS which sucks. In fact he was supposed too be in the Wii version, but they had trouble with his ability to change forms. This was the same problem with Monster x turning into Kaiser Ghidorah.
Us, watch SSG play Godzilla Save The Earth and you’ll get an idea why. It’s pretty fun, and there should have been more support for that game, like more monsters.
+Ben Barnett - Since SGG isn't responding, I will: The PS2 was a last minute rush job by the devs to get Unleashed out to a wider audience, seeing as the Wii was just under a year into it's life cycle and not everyone had one yet, whereas the PS2 was (and still is) the highest selling console of all time. You can tell it was a half baked rush job due to the fact that Obsidius and Battra are clones of Orga and Mothra, respectively, none of the new models for existing Kaiju were present (Such as Gigan still being his Showa incarnation and King Ghidorah still being Heisei rather than GMK), and the numerous bugs that are present in the PS2 version (Massive slowdown and framerate issues, throwing not working aka the monsters just drop at your feet right in front of you rather than actually being thrown, horrible collision detection, etc)

I thought they were extra details to make each monsters unique and different but can anyone explain how they work?
SuperGodzillaGaming when you say electronic do you mean energy or specific beams like king ghidorahs
Earth defender! Earth defenders GO EARTH DEFENDERS!
Edit: Btw what does GDF stand for?
Global Defense Force
Earth defenders protect specifically "Earth", while GDF protect more the people.
Hey sgg i'm a huge fan of your's and i wanted to ask should i get the ps2 or the wii version?
I'd say the Wii version. While the PS2 one has "better" controls, monsters like to lock up during battle, and there are so many bugs with attacks and movement in general. The worst thing about the Wii version is how it uses the motion sensor controls, which really take some getting used to, but it's definitely not impossible to learn.
@@SuperGodzillaGaming Okay, thanks man.
Will you do Krystalak eventually?
Of course! Every monster will get a run as their respective faction.
Yay!
5:49 i like the mogera doing a victory dance.😅
I really like doing these and I should start them after replaying a classic game of my childhood.
Basically aftermath ideas. (Not stealing from Archer-Bro)
Godzilla:
Godzilla, being exposed too these new crystals after his triumph over SpaceGodzilla granted his radioactive power even more energy.
Just so you know, Xenilla is my name for SpaceGodzilla.
Hey SuperGodzillaGaming, here are my favorites in all of the factions:
Earth Defenders: Godzilla 2000
Global Defense Force (GDF): MechaGodzilla 2
Mutants: Titanosaurus
Aliens: MechaGodzilla
Anguirus
Mechagodzilla 2
Destroyah
Orga
I didn’t know building infected with vines has green gas or something,it could be biollante
I get it because biolantte is available on the Wii version an exclusive cutscene was made is that right?
Yep. It's only for the wii system
Godzilla 2000 is Best design of Godzilla ever
No Biolante boss?
Hey SGG i was wondering
can you please let the audio logs from the missions finish first before you start the mission?
i hope you know what i mean.
sorry for my bad english.
This guy is a pro.
Godzilla save us ! THE END
please do titanosarus next
oh memories 🥺💔
The king of the monsters is ready to defend earth
awesome
is that cortana's voice actor?
THE COUNCIL OF SHPEES
SuperGodzillaGaming can you explain me what is the reputation in this game, I never understand that
It seems the game has its fair share of followers, those who grew up with it tend to really like it! But most older fans found it hard to get into because of the motion controls and changed combat system (super high jumps, lack of knock-down moves, removal of Rage attacks).
SuperGodzillaGaming that reputation no, the other one, example: mutants -3 Earth defenders +9
But anyway thanks for answering
And awesome
Did anyone knew the admiral was voiced by the guy who voiced spy?
Am trying to find out who voices Kenji Miku, Commander Tagaki, and Dr. Shiragami.
The roar of the monsters is the PS2 only?
I tried to find if there any button to roar in the Wii
Poor Gigan got absolutely wiped
Can someone help me come up with character endings for each monster like from “Mortal Kombat X” please?
Or maybe intro dialogues for each monster or something.
What difficulty do you normally play on?
This is the normal difficulty. The hard difficulty is probably doable, but we're wanting to enjoy ourselves while playing, too!
Playable characters:
-Godzilla 2000
-Anguirus 1968
-Varan
-Baragon 2001
-Mothra 2019
-Rodan 2019
-Battra
-Sanda
-Kamoebas
-Manda 2004
-King Caesar 2004
-Zilla
-Kong 2021
-Behemoth
-Gorosaurus
-Kiryu
-Mechani Kong
-Mecha Ghidorah
-MOGUERA
-Jet Jaguar
-Mechagodzilla 1993
-Gigan 2004
-Megalon
-King Ghidorah 2019
-Orga
-Mechagodzilla 1974
-Monster X
-Hedorah 1971
-Gezora
-Spacegodzilla
-Megaguirus

Your here to? I also saw your Comments in the comment section of Thunderman2001's Video's.
Guys in finale is perfect the new boss destroyah
9:25 is that spy?
will you possibly do megaguirus?
All playable monsters (minus G1954 and G1990s) will get a story mode run
I thought that sounded like the Spy
Goated game
30:22 is Rodan ok?
SRG Zach Attack he just doesn't care and prefer to wander and walk around lol
@@reinhartnata47 probably afraid he'll get his ass kicked by Ghidorah again
And also in godzilla unleashed in this version hedorah on aliens side
I wish Hedorah was in this game, but no he's in Godzilla Unleashed Double Smash for the DS which sucks. In fact he was supposed too be in the Wii version, but they had trouble with his ability to change forms. This was the same problem with Monster x turning into Kaiser Ghidorah.
Did gyozen died after Godzilla destroyed the atragon?
Im guessing...yes? He just says “I have failed” in the Wii version, but in the Ps2 version he definitely does.
And I also love his voice actor, who also voiced Spy in TF2
10:40 did anyone else hear the spy from tf2
I wonder why they only let you charge your breath in the ps2 version.
Us, watch SSG play Godzilla Save The Earth and you’ll get an idea why. It’s pretty fun, and there should have been more support for that game, like more monsters.

Wow you kill the space godzilla
Actually forget what I said
SUP BRAH
Why does the ps2 version have less characters than the wii
The Wii version was the main focus by the devs, the PS2 version was more of a bonus... sort of
What do you mean by bonus?
When you say bonus, what do you mean?
+Ben Barnett - Since SGG isn't responding, I will:
The PS2 was a last minute rush job by the devs to get Unleashed out to a wider audience, seeing as the Wii was just under a year into it's life cycle and not everyone had one yet, whereas the PS2 was (and still is) the highest selling console of all time.
Milky sounds like a combination of Jen Taylor and Laura Bailey
Jen voices her actually
@@kellyvalle6593late reply, but it’s nice to know I wasn’t crazy. What a voice cast though. Jen Taylor as Mika, Dennis Bateman as Gyozen, and Ellen McLain as Vorticia
I always hated the 3rd mission as a kid
