You were blessed with the ability to work hard, all the perks you enjoy are not just handed to you. A lot of us on the outside looking in forget or choose not to acknowledge the countless hours of work or countless meetings and phone calls you have put in to further the sport you love. I don’t kayak fish but I respect the work you put in and so should everyone else. Don’t judge a man because he worked harder and put more sweat and tears into something than you did. Enjoy it Mr Hoover you have worked for it.
Man there needs to be more videos like this on fishtube! I loved the info on the depth finder since I don't have one and been looking to get one. But what was cooler to me was that keto cup and how you prep meals for the water
Bob Fitz love it so far. It’s a great compliment to my bigger unit and it really does a lot of stuff traditional depth finders can’t. Great addition to the arsenal
Later catching up on this video, but very interesting in buying an enjoyable and beneficial fish finder (first one) for my kayak. Would appreciate your thoughts on two things, assuming the angler will fish mostly shallow waters, except some deep holes during the winter for trout. Seems side imaging may be worth the investment. Accurate? Watched lots of reviews and VLOGs and it seems most agree Lowrance is still the easiest to use. Based on what you've seen lately, would you agree with that? Are there things I've yet to mention that you think a new kayak angler should really consider when trying to determine what to purchase in a fish finder? Thanks!
Great video brother! I am looking forward to more great info on how to use and what to look for with a depth finder since I just got one and am new to the whole thing. Thanks Chad keep up the great work!
Finally someone made a video. I'm trying to learn my finder (humminbird helix g3 7") I have the mega DI tuned in for mad detail but just not always sure what I'm seeing on the screen.
Awsome video really good info as always I’m just gettin late start in kayak fishing bein 62 yo and also retired army I just feel like I’m to old to get into the tournament game
I hear you brother. Just turned 65, bought a kayak and now I’m itching to get it wet! 100% disabled veteran, fighting different battles now. Looking to drown me some worms!
Hey buddy, i have a Lowrance Hook 7 TS. This unit has side scan, and i was wondering if you had to use a spacer between the bottom of the pod and transducer bracket. Someone told me that the side scan gets blocked if you just fasten the bracket straight to the pod?
Chad, looking to get a sonar for my kayak I’m waiting on. I’ve heard Gene Jensen go as big of screen as you can afford (especially utilizing side imaging). I definitely have to stick to a budget so I’m looking at either a 7” Raymarine Element (that has 1.2Mhz imaging with 3D) or a 9” Lowrance Hook Reveal. I would think the imaging on the Element 7” screen would be better technology than the Lowrance even though it’s a smaller screen. What do you think? Or anyone for that matter. Thanks.
Man, I'm blown away by the dude in the background at the 15:00 mark that loads his yak by backing his truck into the water and dragging the yak up onto the t-bone bar from the water. I had never thought of attempting that, but now I kinda wanna try it. It makes me nervous though, as it seems like I would have to back my truck waaaay down into the water. Hmmmm.
I got my first fish finder in winter and this upcoming season will be my first with one did I make a huge misstep getting a unit that does not have GPS I got a Helix g2 sonar
Man I just got back from Lake Weiss this weekend, and I think your bad luck followed me lol. Fished Friday night, all day Saturday, then went back out that night, and all I got was a catfish. I was cheating to on my dads bass boat lol. That is a weird lake to figure out.
If you are waiting for the structure you are marking to be in the center I am pretty sure you have already passed it. I guess you weren't moving very fast though
@@ChadHooverFishing Yea I was initially thinking you were moving. more then I noted you probably didn't move much when I realized it. Good content by the way!
Dorian McCradic it’s where a road was before the lake was made so the road bed is still there and it’s usually a harder bottom area and it or its edges attracts and holds fish
Dorian McCradic You’re hearing correctly. A road bed is just the remains of an old road that is now submerged under water. Could be dirt (now mud), gravel, concrete, or pavement. The intensity of the sonar signature can help you determine the composition.

Can’t wait to get your opinion on the Deeper, been using one for a year or so now, convenient and portable.

Yes. It should be spaced 2.25” inches from the bottom of the pod to “clear” the hull.
Informative as always. Like the behind the scenes of behind the scenes.
Jay Bassin ha! Thanks. Didn’t think about that. Now I have to do the behind the scenes behind the scenes behind the scenes

John Pearce I have a few more coming soon
I’m looking to update my fish finder is there a strategy to finding a good fish finder? What do you recommend?
Keep them coming....the best thing is I have the same unit.... this helps alot.
Hey brother, just got a kayak and I was wondering do I need a side image fish finder or is a regular one good for a yak? I got the new outback.
Thank You for Your Service.

Thanks for all you do! Looking to do some local kayak tournaments next year

Sometimes those slanted lines are bubbles raising in the current. Not sure if it's air or methane but have seen bubbles make the lines.
Thank you. I appreciate the education.

The behind the scenes of #KBF, #GotToLoveIt , way to demonstrate the spot on the spot.
How important is side scan?
Dang man, Navy retiree... chances are you’ve spent some time in my neck of the woods with Oceana and Norfolk Naval right up the road.

Is it just me or is your pfd way to loose??
Your cinematographer needs to learn what grading is. This is the ugliest, ungraded footage I have ever seen. But good content, thanks Chad
