Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! For fully demo-ing clean and partial break up - thoroughly. I finally have a clear understanding of this amp. Most demos just go quickly to high saturation, but for me, whether an amp has the "magic" or not depends on the subtleties of clean, partial break up, and EQ.
I agree with you. I purchased the amp mainly because of the clean channel. I have a 2X12 Splawn cabinet with Vintage 30's. With that cabinet the clean channel is un-inspiring. When I play it through my Marshall 1936 cabinet with 75 watt speakers the clean channel is awesome. After playing it for close to two years I find I like the Crunch channel the best. The crunch channel in Mark 1 mode sounds awesome with the Splawn cabinet with the Vintage 30 speakers. I rarely play the High gain channel (3) though it does sound really good. A Tube Screamer through the front does the first 2 channels justice. An DOD YJM overdrive pedal sounds great through channel 2 but not so much through channel 1. The amp feels great the farther you step away from the speaker cabinets and I love how the amp feels when in tube rectifier mode.
replicant #85 that's exactly the reason I clicked on this video. just from the still, "how the hell is this only 6 years old" then we got the dudes first riff sounding like stairway to heaven, further enforcing that this must be decades old.
I've played through a Mark III before and it was amazing! Since no seems to want to give their Mark III or IV up, I will be saving to buy the Mark V. Truly Amazing amp! …I do prefer the Mark series over the Triple Rectifier.
I love my mk V combo!! I play in a cover band that cover a wide variety of music from Britney Spears to Rush. It sounds great and only one trip to the car.
What kind of speakers in the cab? C90 or v30? I like your sound and I’m thinking about the mark v combo, and it has a c90 in it. Wondering if I can get those SRV tones out of my strat with that one.
this is the best demonstration of this amp on you tube! thank you

Hey Paul! TRY GETTING A RESERVATION AT DORSIA NOW!!!
The Mark V is such a great amp, so much versatility too.
Haha I hope I'm not the only who gets this awesome reference.
just ordered mine!
..... yesssssss
Congrats, +Kay - hope it exceeds your expectations!
Great review and demo of this amp.
This video makes me feel like Mark V was released in the 80s. I would be mistaken if I wouldn't have Mark 5:25 looking brand new in front of me.

Such a versatile amp! On my must have list along with a PRS P22 Trem! Some day!
@NinjaPepper LOL Let's see his business card! Maybe the Mark VI will be demonstrated by Patrick Bateman!
Anyway all the Mark series amps are great!
Which of the four power tubes wears out when you run the amp entirely on 10 watts?
I keep thinking he's going to play "Stairway"..:)))...Great demo, wish I could afford one! :(
Cool! Nice work !
