I've been playing this song all week on my traveling CD and I just had to visit. Donna is such a treasure that we all want to hold on to forever. We will hold on to her through her timeless music and beautiful photos. R.I.P. Queen Donna!
This will never be duplicated by anyone in the entire world.. SHE WAS THE BEST....everytime i listen to her i fall in love all over with my wife...we disco danced till morning 1977..
The voice of Donna Summer, the queen of disco 70's, she could well adapt to the pace of the disc, but at a slower rate. With this confirms the professionalism of this artist to me icon of that period !
An amazing singer period! this is an artist that if humans are still around in 100yrs will still be playing her music not many of todays artists will even be remembered only one Donna one Michael J. one Elvis and the Beatles period. Everything else is desert!
Reminds me of the summer of 1976 when lots of people would be all tanned after a day at the beach and then dress to the nines in white to go to the disco at night. I'm glad to have been a part of those days when Donna was the queen.
SouthwesternEagle "Dressed to the nines" means perfectly dressed in the highest fashion. There are various theories as to the origin of the phrase. One says that "to the nines" was used to describe the immaculate condition of the uniforms worn by the British Lanarkshire 99th Army Regiment of Foot established in 1824.
+Manny Perez Dress to the Nines also meant the time people usually would arrive at the event or gala or disco, even though your definition is correct. People coming dressed emaculent, dressed to kill etc....

+diane russell You ain't nevah lied! People don't even know what "strings" are these days, it seems. Nobody uses violins in music, ever notice that? it's too romantic, and music now is all edges. Older music was "rounder" and "sweeter"-sounding.The instruments accompanied the artist, unlike so much today where the artist's voice is buried down in the mix, and it's sound more than music. Plus, you can't beat acoustic instruments, played by real musicians instead of just a keyboard, drum machine and guitars.
@paulph 12002- Certainly does! However, I think her music is contemporary, Her songs could play today at any club and people would bubble just as they did in the 70s. I will surely miss THE QUEEN OF DISCO ALWAYS
Was someone here actually trying to compare the two?? There's no comparison... Beyonce is all carefully crafted choreography...savvy marketing...slick backup dancers....fancy lights.... whereas Donna was simply....Donna!
and what's wrong with that? It worked for Beyonce all this time. She STILL a great entertainer. Trust me they were trying to downplay Donna in her hey day too...even blacklisted her...
Once many years later in a telephone conversation she said 'have I missed something..living separate..having no ...I..after all that happened..Like ..I have missed.."..and I've been thinking..about time..years later..She must have had everything..and maybe more than that..in almost every aspect..But I thought..what maybe she missed after all happened to me..knowing myself..and I guess she maybe missed ..just one thing..A journey to the Mars
1976...a great album... she was changing the face of music and it was so exciting !
THE VOICE OF A GODDESS SINGING.MAGICAL,UNFORGETABLE...FEVER!YES,YOU MADE EVERYONES TEMPERTURE RISE!..R.I.P.MS.SUMMER
This still sounds great today. I think that Donna's earlier songs such as this were her best work.

Summer Fever 2024 Still Love The Queen of Disco
That’s one of my favorite songs by Donna Summer. I always listened to Summer Fever when I going on beach trips during the summer.
I LOVE the song Summer Fever. I love that the beat is different and changes. Plus, I love it when an artist says their own name in a song.
Ethereal and flawless disco diamond by great Donna Summer. The ultimate summer anthem and a true classic!

What does "dress to the nines" mean? I'm 26, but I've never heard that.

That was one hot summer ...
прелесть! ее концерты для меня, просто возвращение в 70!!!
This is music! The artist truly sung the songs, it wasn't all the computer sounds etc. they have today!
+diane russell You ain't nevah lied!

Donna Summers took off where Diana Ross left off at!!
I drew this album cover in pencil.
I BOUGHT A DOG AND I CALLED IT A CAT NAME.
But Beyonce and Donna Summer are two different artist in their own right... why must we compare?
