My man, haven't played this game for like 5 years, stumbled upon this video and your comment. Been thinking that a lots has changed, I hope you can still enjoy this music as I do today...
The first minute or two of this song is what played in my head as 8th grade me, playing the end of vanilla-wrath as a horde character flew over the barrens for the first time after cata drop.... RIP to the legendary zone and its chat
I think I'm gonna go and level another dwarf, just so I can listen to this music. It's really quite beautiful and perfectly fits the general feel of the zone.
Khaz Modan. Litteraly, the mountain...of Khaz'Goroth, shaper of the mountains, shaper of Azeroth. Be proud Dwarves and Gnomes. You have been created by beings of incredible wisdom and power. Hold this pride deep in your heart and never forget where your origins lie. *Bow*
@MrApplehead321 OMG me too, my first ever character was a dwarf warrior, only got him up to lvl 16 on the trial, but the one thing that ALWAYS takes me back is the music.....i seriously wish i could lose all memory of WoW and go back to that time =*)
Why does this song have so much more emotion compared to many other pieces of cataclysm music? According to Blizzcast 15, the composer's cat died, so he somehow put some of that "emotion" into this theme.
In some way, i love how closely related to Oblivion's music i find this theme. one thing Oblivion always had going for it was beautiful music to compliment the great vast wildernesses as a backdrop, and WoW has alot of good music to suit its own taste of that as well!
Rest easy good king of the Dwarves, know that you will be missed. Hail Magni Bronzebeard, Lord of Ironforge, Ruler of Karz Modan, and King of the Mountain.
I started as Dwarf hunter ... then i followed my friends to horde side after few years of playing dwarf... i'm undead now but even now i still visit Ironforge and all other dwarf zones even tho im not rly welcomed since im horde.
I remember hearing this today and yesterday as I stocked up on stuff for my great RP journey with my friend whose a goblin (I'm a dwarf) and we're going to travel around Azeroth on foot. ftw
--- The Tale of the Skeleton, the Past and the Snowy Gnomes --- Ah vanilla nostalgia all comes back. As an undead mage, I wandered into the wetlands; a gnome and night elf far weaker than me walked past and I waved at them; the elf waves back and walked off as I did too. The level 10 gnome decided to attack me and my horse vanished. I stood there was he did the same as slapping a bear and I looked at the elf for a moment. Deciding this was too sad I killed the gnome and went on my way; the elf tried to avenge him and I had to get rid of him too so I can mount. I wandered into this land of snow; peering around as apparently the horde was attacking the city. The guards spotted me at the town and killed me; deciding to avoid constant death I revived and blinked to a spot that was quiet. I sat there... snow blowing, music playing and watching the dwarves and gnomes run about. Then I realised how amazing the world of warcraft was, how it got people together and how in the day, despite it's problems and hardship, people worked as a team. And with that, I opened a portal to the undercity and returned to my quests. This is what World Of Warcraft is about: The fans. If blizzard return to listening to the fans, the one's that want to help make it better through ideas or suggestions; Warcraft can be as good as it used to be, what it still has. It just needs the heart of the fans and the love it once had.
Have to admit, I've been strongly thinking about taking my Dwarf-Hunter out of retirement and hopping on my turbo-flying machine to check out what has happened in Azeroth. I've reconsidered my feelings about Cataclysm and really miss adventuring with Arcturis. Lately I've been playing some really good MMORPGs, but I played WoW since vanilla to mid last year. Good music:]
The dwarf king Magni Bronzebeard attempted a ritual to investigate the strange seismic activity in Azeroth, but was turned into diamond because of an unknown mishap.
Strange thing is, since the beginning of WoW, Arathi Highlands has shared the same music with Dun Morogh, so the new ''Cold Mountain'' description which is technically defining a cold place, also plays in Arathi Hihglands which isn't a cold mountain :p
@CarrotAtHeart Currently I'm building an updated gaming system around a Dell XPS M1530 that i won off ebay which will improve my gameplay for when I return to Azeroth. Thats a major improvement from the system I left off on WotLK. Hopefully in the coming week; towards the end, I'll be able to log in. I will be logging in on my main; 80 dwarf-hunter, and take flight back in my cool Turbo-Charge Flying Machine=]
@PrinceDeNeufchatel Cataclysm is really amazing, I think. If you're a raider, t11 is one of the best raiding tiers to date, amazing fights and great mechanics. The music all around is phenomenal, questing is great, the atmospheres are still great. Sure it has it's flaws, but what expansion didn't?
I can't seem to find anything on reputation, do alliance still get rep for the neutral goblin quests, or are they strictly horde quests? Do alliance who already built rep w/those areas loose that rep? I can't find any answers any where i look=[ Perhaps you folks could give me some feedback on this question?=]
@CarrotAtHeart well, its official. I'm preparing to purchase Cataclysm + a time card to reenter WoW next week. I'm just wondering which WotLK account I should activate & upgrade. I have my original vanilla account w/horde & my newer one with my dwarf-hunter who is well buffed on achievements.. everything! Overall; unlike many i know that quit before my now called "extended" vacation, I can't wait to return!! I still can't believe my old guild still has my main hanging around in the guild? (hehe)
i live for the descriptions on this guys videos
"the hell do you want from me" hahaha I remember laughing about this 3 years ago, and I'm still laughing. In fact, I never stopped.
Same here in 2020 xD

@@paldinkos915 I do. :) Azeroth is home.
Far over the misty mountains cold... from dungeons deep... and caverns old...
The first minute or two of this song is what played in my head as 8th grade me, playing the end of vanilla-wrath as a horde character flew over the barrens for the first time after cata drop.... RIP to the legendary zone and its chat
I want nothing, but this music playing all of the time. :D
Ah, the new version of my beloved old mountain music. Now brings me to tears twice as quickly.
"this is a song about a mountain which is cold" very insightful, op
I haven't been able to play WoW for awhile, and I miss it's epic melodies!
this theme really does capture the beauty of dun morogh....
loving it!!!
So this music is what... Dun Morogh? Khaz Modan as a whole?
I love it as this is what plays in my garrison now, and I'm a dwarf.
A part of this theme
also plays in Sin'dorei lands I believe, a truly magnificent track..
I think I'm gonna go and level another dwarf, just so I can listen to this music. It's really quite beautiful and perfectly fits the general feel of the zone.
I just love the sound of music at 6:00 - 6:07
...just pure awesome!

Nearly brings me to tears...
Cold Mountain=The Biggest mountain in Dun Morogh, Ironforge. The protective shell of the greatest forge dwarf-kind has ever tought of.

Flying around the new old world for the first time is pretty amazing, you'll love it! Especially Dun Morogh :D
Love this music.

O_O The new Dun Morogh music...I love it!
I'll tell you what I want from you Dom.
A better rhyme than, "When the guns are blazin', you're....a raisin."
IIIIIROOOOOONFOOOOORGE!! (shakefist)
...Oh.
Eheh... I love the track. It's so..peaceful, yet full of mourning.
It's also in the new login music. :D
Even now I listen to it, I still feel a bit sadness in this music.

Holy shit, your description is hilarious.

Epic
@Cybeloras I'm willing to bet that each zone will get its own unique music in Cataclysm.
@DominikaSents
I'm sure it will play in Dun Morogh, that's where this theme is originally from.
Dun Morogh is a great zone.
Beautiful track. Always reminds me of the music from Diggles, though.
The dwarf king Magni Bronzebeard attempted a ritual to investigate the strange seismic activity in Azeroth, but was turned into diamond because of an unknown mishap.
This is awesome but i hope that they dont destroy the old music for dun morogh cuz it brings back so many memories of when i first started playing wow
@w7iD Lmao NICE MUSIC MY FRIEND! *flips off*

this is actually from the cataclysm theme itself. listen to it.
2 words:
Fucking
Amazing
i love it all, but especially 4:09 onwards. this is much better than the boring dun morogh music at the moment
Also. 4:05. Oh my god.
Inner peace obtained :)
2:32 sounds like the music from Halo legends, ''The babysitter'' if anyone saw it
@PrinceDeNeufchatel The Steamwheel Cartel Is pure neutral, both horde and Alliance can benefit from their quest.
Oh my god your description is fucking hilarious.
Maybe it isn't dun morogh's song but it sounds like it. I hope this will be the new don morogh music ^^
"the hell do you want from me ¬¬" hahahaha yeah!
@623mcgee Yeah, the composer said he was feeling down because of that and just started writing.
Hahaha the description makes me laugh
0.:40 to 0:49 it gives me chillllssss :D

did u notice that most of the songs ive heard so far from some areas.. are parts of the title theme?
@TheRedSonSets
Except that a lot of the immaturity in WoW comes from people between the ages of 18-40.
*sniff*
@DominikaSents
Ah, right. I understand ^^
It's still a beautiful track, though!
I hear some violas in there
Sounds like OBLIVION xD
@DominikaSents For some reason I think I've heard this before, I'm sure of it...
reminds me of morrowind
@TheRedSonSets you be trollin' man? or are you serious? if you really think that you have never met me. :D
@DrFsdasD ... mind re-phrasing that?
@boomer4190 freezing around that mountain i guess
