Maybe you should use one of them 10 ' × 10 ' folding tents to use your power tools out in the moisture.
Safer for your tools and you . What if the breaker doesn't trip fast enough ?
Could use a few of them rocks you've got to hold the tent down.

Al, I would like to point out a safety issue for you. While watching you use that table saw, it made me nervous seeing the drawstring hanging down from your hoodie sweatshirt. It only takes one time; and I know you wont think it will happen, but if that drawstring falls down into the saw and pulls you into it... Anyway, I would not want anything bad to happen to you. I know sometimes we get so focused on getting work done, we don't focus on potential safety. I remember the nail gun going into your hip. Everyone, please be safe. Happy New Year to you all.

It looked like some water collected on the top of the outside faucet where the push rod enters the pipe and froze. Put your bucket over the top of the handle. It may get worse if you have a freezing rain.

We are your neighbors over in Pike, NH and our power was out through the whole time-frame of this video! It went out around 630 AM on the warm rainy day and came on around 6 PM on the super cold day. Pretty jealous that you didn't even know about all the disruption outside your little homestead haven. We were alright with our woodstove and I had filled the stock tanks when I saw the power flickering, but I would give a lot to have your systems in place. You're on the right track and we're rooting for you!

Al, you need to teach your wife or daughter to do carpentry as a backup for when you lose a thumb or fingers from not using push sticks or fence guards or any other table saw safety practices. You might get by for a long time without a kickback or slip, but I have two very experienced carpenter friends who have lose the last joint on a thumb or part or all of a finger pushing boards with their hands without a push stick.

I’m a finish carpenter who also has well north of 100 staircases and your staircase needs to have at least 1.25 inches of overhang on the finished stairs. Walking up is not a trip hazard. But coming down the wider step gives you more to step on. This is also a national building code requirement. YOU NEVER FALL going up. GOING DOWN is very dangerous .

That tree line across the meadow from the front door is a great focal point for looking outside. Regarding the unfinished stairs, because you have a concrete floor, the sound echoes. When finishing the stairs, a sound absorbent material should be considered. Gina is definitely going to town with those cookies. You don't need store bought when you have home cooking.

It is nice to have the entire window trimmed out with wood. Down South, the builders skimp and trim the inside side of the windows with sheetrock. • @StoneKathryn

to speed things up with the drop saw, once you cut and confirm the first, you can use it as a template for the rest. or if you have the dropsaw support table, you can make a stop at the desired size. then you just place the wood slide it to the stop and cut. i used to even make a stop out of scrap to speed up the cuts while keeping the accuracy.

Rain Tarp on PVC stand for working the saws in the rain. Easy to rig up. PVC is slipped together and taken apart easily. If you ever go to a convention center exhibit when venders set up...they use PVC pipe dividers and backdrops and etc. that are easy to breakdown and load up for away to the next show. So you rain tarp could do the same.

Just a tip when measuring between to lines, line up one side with the one inch line on the tape measure and then subtract one from what you get at the other end. It's much easier to match your pencil line to the line on the tape then trying to get the hook on the end of the tape in the exact right place.

Trimming is such a rewarding and unrewarding activity: trimming a window or door is completing the “picture”, As you go through the process, you go through the steps in completing the picture, with each step bringing you closer to the finish, until you complete the last step. Then it is finished and shows how it should have been all along: no one sees the effort you have put into task when the job is done. Al and Gina, it just looks fabulous, finished, perfect!

Those cats are gorgeous - good job on your window trimmings - good you missed the real cold and heavy snow. Take care😊

We would buy ten foot long 1 1/2 Schedule 60 to bend up for a green house, that south wall of yours would be perfect to use a half of a green house all along that side it would open up with the garage door too, you could start plants and do those more messy chores without being reliant on the weather. We'd always bend the center pipe in half and the edge would be either four and six or in half,
