They name dropped the Replacements! That alone should say how different they really were from their peers of the time. (I'm pretty sure the other bands were named jokingly but they got a bit more serious when naming the Replacements...awesome)
bad recording, but chip is a great person.hes great to his fans, and if you run into on the street he will stop and talk with you, stand up guy and a really good bass player, though their music doesn't call for heavy riffing, chip can play very well!
Becky Elgin I met them at an in store at Rolling Stone in Norridge, IL. It was when 1985 came out. Donnie was cool as fuck. He shook my hand and asked me why I was late. I told him that I just got off work and he told me to sit up front to watch them play an acoustic set. Awesome memories!
Too bad the interviewer's microphone is so low. Difficult to hear. I imagine EZN was never invited back to MTV Studios after this debacle of an interview.
BTW, if anyone from the band ever reads this, my Mom died Nov 30, 1989 and seeing you guys live was the first time I really smiled after that. It was Super Bowl night 1990 in Philly. I got the show on video...great live band..thakns
Love these guys, it's a shame what happened to them and the business bullshit between donnie and chip.....I love donnie and think what chip did to him when he wasn't well etc was very low really......its so sad when people act this way to one another.......especially band mates , apart from sex I can't think of anything more intimate than creating music or another kind of art with someone.. ..especially when it gets deep within a subject matter......it takes something that is so beautiful and makes it cheap and ugly......just so fucking sad really, I really hope that donnie gets something special going again, I know that he's doing stuff, so I wish him well....love eternal mate
I've known Chip personally for 23 years. There are a lot of things people don't see, but if you pay attention you may want to consider that EZN wouldn't be around if it weren't for Chip and we have Chip to thank for keeping the band together for so long. He was the one out there busting his ass keeping things alive. Donnie came in when it was convenient and never stayed very long. Imagine having to deal with that for nearly two decades? I'm sure there's a lot more to the story, but you don't see Chip out there dismantling Donnie do you? Obviously you've seen all of the negative commentary's by Donnie though. If you want to have a a balanced opinion you need both sides. I truly hope Donnie finds peace in his life and moves on.
Such a GREAT band, one of the best bands I ever saw live. Vikki Foxx is an AMAZING AMAZING band. RIP Derek...BRILLIANT band.
Yes....and with the times comes AGE lol put a shirt on uggh

When you name check Mott The Hoople, you're doing SOMETHING right. Really, they've put out some very good music.
