Wow, you are looking very lean and healthy. Great work! Your channel gave me the final boost I needed to star open water swimming on the Canadian West Coast (in early Spring). My mental toughness is at all an time high these days, but am still working on heebie jeebies of our murky water and pacing my breath. I find myself panting after a few hundred meters. I look forward to the inspiration from your videos.
Thank you. Great to have you along. Really happy to hear you got encouraged into the water. Take a look at my video about what to do if panic strikes for some ideas about how to calm your breathing.
Fellow 🇨🇦ian wild swimmer here.. sounds like we’re even from the same province. Don’t ya just love that awesome feeling when the mental toughness gives ya such a boost. Keep at it… you’ll find your rhythm and the pace will become more steady. Swim on!!! 🌎💦🏊♀️Ⓜ️ary
Lovely footage and adventure. Just shows you don't need to travel the world for beauty. Water colouring amazing. Cookie is gorgeous my dogs don't swim but enjoy splashing around on the shore. I need to try them while I swim deeper, see if they get braver. That camera was great for under water shots! Thanks for sharing.
It was a cracking spot and there are more caves to look at so I fancy another visit on a calm day. I’ll keep practicing with the dome port as it does give good footage.
Loved that. Been past there plenty of times but never noticed those caves. Will def go back next summer and anchor. Great video. Wicked floating dog cushion too LOL.
Thanks, I liked most of the footage I got from it but there’s quite a lot to think about to avoid the pitfalls. I’ll keep practicing though, especially where the water is clear.
Beautiful water and caves! Looks so fun. I don't know what kind of spray you can get. I just use the spit in my mask technique when diving. That lens is probably to big for that trick. Maybe if you go to a diving store they can recommend one. Divers are always filming their adventures.
Awesome, not sure if you are aware but there's actually a underwater tunnel you can swim through that takes you into a hidden cave room along the cliff face. You'll need about 20/30 seconds of breath to get in safely and then on your exit back out. Me and my friend found it while kayaking and snorkeling along the stretch between freshwater bay and where you was! :)
Your fabulous new footage with that dome-port had me doing breath-holds! The temendous visibility (both on this trip and your Lulworth cove swim recently) really improve the enjoyment of openwater swimming for me. Please consider using it in other waters if possible; it's also fascinating to see any wildlife (marine or freshwater) in their own watery environments; so much beauty lies just below the surface! A great 'family day out' video Rachel! 🐕
@@EverydayAthleteRach A seal would look huuuge underwater, but many fish species are inquisitive & approach you if you stay still for a minute on the surface! If domeport has a glass lens, perhaps try RainX? Very effective on car windscreens to bead rain. Also available for plastic surfaces (ie visors etc) too now, but be aware as it is different!
Fabulous to see the Needles from the sea. I have not seen that view since sailing on my Dad’s boat many years ago. You picked a fabulous sparkly day for your adventure. The water slopping noise from your footage was a bit loud!
Absolutely love this video! The music, camera work, information and introduction is very educating and inspiring. Always look forward to your videos all the time. Also, nice to see a wee dog make an appearance too on a sea adventure. Hope you’re well :)
Good to hear from you. So pleased to hear you enjoyed it, we had a brilliant time. Cookie will hopefully join me for more adventures in the water, we're taking it gently. 🏊🐕😃
YoWzA… Rachel… this video makes me feel like I’m on a luxury vacation. It appears that your RIB boat (never seen one of those before) goes much faster than our canoe or little sailboat 😂. I thought the footage was great!! The water was so clear… and that colour!! I absolutely loved the sound of the water when you were filming. I adore that soothing aqua sound that us water people find to be so relaxing. I was so amazed at the geography of the cliffs and the little pieces of mini-islands. I was surprised to see buildings and such in that area. What a great aqua adventure you had that day. Thank-you so much for sharing this with us. More please❓ Have a great day and hope you find some more fabulous summer swims. Looking forward to seeing more of your adventures 🌎💦🏊♀️🌊Ⓜ️ary PS - I thought Cookie did rather well on her little doggo-raft. PPS - you’re looking fit and healthy 😃
It was great to have you along for the ride Mary. RIBs are really common in the UK. Ours is about 20 years old (the engine is newer) and still going strong. It’s brilliant to access such fun areas. I was amazed at the colour of the water. Fun indeed!
I've lived here for 40 years and have always wanted to go to the cave. I've been caving in Somerset. Are there any markings on the cave? I imagine if there were they would be gone due to wet conditions. I wish we had more caves to explore.
I'd say these are pretty accessible from the beach on a nice day. Worth wearing a wetsuit though as you can get so interested that you don't realise how long you've stayed in for and can get chilly 🏊😀
May sound really silly but aren’t you scared of sharks following you in those waters? Do they come near the Isle of Wight? I know small ones appear at the Needles near the boat trips.
I’m not worried by the thought of sharks, the only one I’ve seen locally was a picture of a dead one in a beach. They’d be too scared of us to come over I think. You never know though, maybe I’ll spot one when reviewing my GoPro footage one day!
That looked absolutely incredible! Might have to demand a trip to the Isle of Wight next time we visit our friends in Southsea... How good was Cookie though?!
Great footage, I loved the gorgeous aquamarine of the water. What a fabulous adventure!
We had a brilliant couple of hours. Couldn’t believe our luck with the conditions. Thanks for watching 🏊♀️😀
Water clarity was amazing loved the little dog SUP
It was her bed! She was better in that than clambering over us. It’s a cracking location.

beautiful footage, such a gorgeous area. I'm really enjoying your videos Rachel, so helpful and fun. Thank you from the west coast of Canada.
Aw What m really happy to hear that you’re enjoying swimming with me together-apart! Welcome to my channel @spirals
thanks Rachel

Thanks for sharing.
I’m pleased the underwater footage turned out so well. It was such a beautiful day in an amazing location. So close to home too!
Wow. I loved the under water and half and half shots. And as usual I get really envious seeing that fantastically clear water. Thanks for sharing.

That looks amazing!!! 🤩
It was cracking!

The floating dog cushion was a winner, she’d have howled the boat down if she hadn’t come with us!
For this video I present all my respect you are really a distinguished person 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻💯
I really enjoyed making this video Said. I’m pleased to hear that you enjoyed it. 🏊♀️😀
Amazing !
I’d love to go again!
Lovely adventure and blue was stunning. The dome port looked overall very successful and I really liked half and half photos.
Thanks, I liked most of the footage I got from it but there’s quite a lot to think about to avoid the pitfalls. I’ll keep practicing though, especially where the water is clear.
great footage, especially from the boat, really beautiful! I loved your pooch on her floating canoe - so cute :D
Thanks for watching! Cookie was happy to be with us, she’s gaining confidence for swimming being able to ride along was great 🏊♀️😀

Good suggestion, I’ll see what I can find out. The issue isn’t so much under water, but the droplets on the surface.

Wow! That sounds like a great little adventure, maybe I'll pop along again and see if I can find it!
The half and half footage made me feel like I was in the water with you! Loved the video.
Thanks Lela, it is an interesting angle isn’t it. Thanks for joining me 🏊♀️😀

Thank you. I think I will try some more domeport footage, once I have a hydrophobic spray for it. I’d love to catch a seal using it!

It was a belter of a day which is why we popped over there. Sorry about the noisy water 🏊♀️😀
Your puppy looks well on the way to paddle boarding!!
She’s been paddle boarding a couple of times and is really calm. This week we went canoeing together, she was good as gold.
That’s a thumbs up from me!👍
Glad you enjoyed it!

I'm so jealous I would love to do that!
It is accessible by swimming around from the Freshwater Beach 🏊♀️😀

You won’t regret at trip to the IOW. Such fascinating coastline. Cookie was fine but really sleepy afterwards!
Loved watching that Rachael it was so clear & I wanted to wipe my face as the water sloshed & came nearly half way up the picture 🤪🤩
Ah, thanks for joining us Sue. Glad you enjoyed it! 🏊♀️😀
You was wearing the wetsuit and you had a bag for your stuff.
The tow float was for visibility, but you’re right, normally I swim skins and put my clothes in it 🏊♀️😀
@@EverydayAthleteRach You was wearing the wetsuit because it was the cold water.
did you really need to take the dog?
Yep. She was only tiny, could t leave her at home or on the boat unsupervised. Thanks for asking.
