- How to find the ideal mix of fuel and air on a warm engine to start. Carburetted street bikes, dirt bikes, ATVs, snowmobile, snow bike, lawnmowers, boat motors, chain saws, weed whackers, leaf blowers - same idea.
Screenshotting that diagram and keeping it in my pocket. Best explanation yet.
u save my life as a beginner many thanks!!!
You probably might have figured it out but for people who are searching answers for hot start issues of their motorbikes, go ahead and change your spark plugs , that helped me with mine .. but before you do, check the resistance of them to see if they are really gone bad.. HOPE THIS MESG WOULD HELP SOME .. cheers 🍻
your carbs most likely use an enrichener system rather than a traditional choke plate
I enjoy your videos, keep 'em coming
The carbs do have an enricher. Voltage flow is fixed, length of pin and temperature is given, nothing owners can do about it. All we have is the choke plate and guess the rest.
Thanks for watching.
Thanks for this. Very helpful on choke advice xx
You're so welcome!
@overengineer how can I free up my choke lever or change it entirely I've tried spraying it with wd40 but it still wont come free so I'm guessing to change it out but need instructions
If it seized up, yea, used motor oil ... anything to get it unstuck plus some brute force
I can start my bike with the warm start it idles at a high rpm, to high to put in gear without hearing the gears grind (from just sitting there to put into first gear not moving clutch in) and no choke on any suggestions or thoughts?
Yes. In cold start, one has to wait until engine warms up and rpms drop. Standard cold start procedure, even with fuel injection.
If engine idles at high rpm when warm, carb/fuel injector idle air screw needs to be turned with a screw driver to set proper warm rpm, usually in the 1150-1250 rpm range.
Motorbike doesn't start because mixture air and fuel not reach to find temperature. That make mixture as spray . I suggest to you use hair dryer to heating carburetor and head of engine to heating valves .
This is Canada. The hair drier freezes here. We`ve got this though, no worries. Block heaters been invented.
Which motorcycle is this
ZZR-600
@@theoverengineer thanks
Choke it up😄
never used choke.
