What about the money made from it though Trevor? Saying you regret it is all well and good, and no doubt true - but I’m sure those ill-gotten dollars helped you sleep a bit easier. Why not donate it to a charity at the time, do some good with it instead of lining your own pockets.
EDIT - So what if Trevor ended up losing money after legal fees etc, you’re missing the point - he should’ve used his personal wealth to defend himself and not the money made from the website. I harbour no ill towards Trevor, nor did I use the site, but it’s using the dirty money to defend your dirty actions that I can’t agree with.

Eh, I don’t think this is true. Tom was smart and stayed quiet. Didn’t react. Therefore the internet was quick to forget.
I made that (horrendous) apology video. My world was crumbling around me. I had let thousands of people down and I was panicking. My original apology video was much different, but my lawyers advised me not to post it as there were threats of a lawsuit on the horizon. An off-the-cuff, brutally honest video would have been the opposing counsel’s wet dream because lawyers are experts at twisting your word. The “apology” video I posted, if you can even call it that, was lawyer-approved and about the only thing I was allowed to say. I wanted nothing more than to talk to my fans and to tell the truth, admit where I was wrong, and disprove all the BS that H3 and EightThoughts were incorrect about, but I couldn’t. I would have been better off completely ignoring it.

Syndicate apologized and mostly stayed silent. He accepted he was caught. Tmartn stayed defiant, deflected responsibility, was disingenuous, and insulted viewers/customers until it all fell apart at the very end. The old saying goes - You reap what you sow. He wasn't sorry. He was sorry he was caught. Shame on him.

@@iJxlly because loyalty is a kind of moral as well. The quality of morals themselves is complicated and can come into conflict. This is why forgiveness is the way towards moral progress in this world. Outsiders see this guy as having poor morals and use his actions to justify their perception of his character. However, Drift0r sees something different as his close friend and instead feels that someone with otherwise good character made some bad choices. Looking into the details of any person of "poor" morals will always show a complicated picture. This doesn't mean blame isn't justified in these cases but the magnitude of hatred that outsiders feel isn't so easy to defend.

He made a mistake, he owns that mistake, and to be frank, I would say that the punishment he received was actually too excessive in comparison to the “crime”. Much of that had to do with how large of a public figure he was and still is and because he ended up becoming the face of this when there were people out there who did far worse in regards to CSG Lotto. Trust me, I'm not one to defend Tmartn, I don't agree with what he did.... but I do think he kinda of got screwed over by the dog eat dog community of youtube. I remember first hearing about this situation through Eight Thoughts and the amount of exposure that he got from completely bashing Trevor was huge... and once you get that kind of momentum on youtube, you keep doing what's working for you. So it was just a lot of constant and even excessive hate that made the situation linger and I'm sure the situation was exacerbated (at least on the youtube side of things) by people trying to capitalize on it all.

I used to watch TmarTn a lot, and i still go on his second every so often. Honestly I found out about the whole lotto thing at some point, but I never thought of him as a terrible person otherwise.
Yes i watched the entire video, before i made this comment.
Ill start off by saying that Drift0r is one of the few people on RUclips that i respect. Maybe its because i find that he is honest, maybe its his simple yet logical approach to certain topics. In any case I would have done the same in his position. I understand that him and Trevor became friends IRL. In Drift0r’s position I would be supportive of my friend, even if he committed such a thing.
I have my own personal thoughts about life and people. I believe that everyone deserves a chance for forgiveness. Yes, if you are a psychopath and have committed many crime etc, then i would want to personally slaughter you, but that not what we are discussing.
To sum it up, everyone fucks up! Sooner or later, the purest person will have done something wrong. Thats just human nature.
Some things are forgiven more easily, and I get that. I do understand that what TmarTn did was bad, rotten, call it what you will. But we can all agree that anyone could have done that in his position. But again, its only nature for humans to bash him.
I can say for sure that I dont know all the facts, exposed or not exposed, and I dont know if most of those participating in the lotto were underage or not. I dont have hard evidence or all the facts. And quite frankly I dont care, with all due respect. Its not my business.
What I do know is that TmarTn understands that he made a mistake and that he has to accept it as a rock in his road. The damage is done, and he may never truly get over the guilt. But, this shouldn’t be something to completely hate the guy over.
I do not know the guy on a personal level, but I have no doubt he might be among the nicest people ever.
I feel that much of the hate comes from misinformation, and the method in which the media likes to exaggerate and overseason such matters. BIG BOLD LETTERS!!!!! Honestly whenever I see these media stunts trying to capture attention and mislead people it makes me sick. But, thats human nature.
So the bottom line is this. TmarTn might never see this comment, but if he will, I’de like him to understand that while he made a mistake, he shouldnt lose sleep over it. He should instead take it as a lesson and be more careful, that kind of stuff.
Other than that, those who bash him, prove yourselves any better. Ill wait. And Trevor, if you see this, keep the gears turning. I may not enjoy Fortnite but all your other stuff is great. I have no doubt that you are a chill guy IRL.
Stay Frosty, both you and Drif0r ;)

TmarTn was actually my favorite RUclipsr for a really long time. When all of this stuff happened I defended him a lot through it even though I didn’t know the full story. Nowadays, I’ve moved on (not too interested in fortnite), and I appreciate the fact that you’ve given a bit of insight into this whole thing. The amount of people in these comments that lack the ability to think critically is shocking.
Either you believe Drift0r or you don't. If you don't, you should really try to see what he has to gain by being untruthful and his reputation. Drift0r has nothing to gain and a lot to lose from making a video like this, and his reputation is that of someone that generally, I'm sure there have been several mistakes, tries to hold himself to a high moral standard.
It's easy to say things when you are outside a situation, but once you're in a situation you might act the same way. You don't know unless you're there.
The long and short of it is a man lied about being compensated by a business. That's the only completely definite mistake he made. Everything else around it is people trying to micromanage someone else according to their own morals.

I can see where Drift0r is coming from. very noble of him to understand where he stands in the aftermath of the mistake TmarTn had made. I never liked how TmarTn took his status for granted, but as long as he had taken punishment for his unethical behaviour as a RUclips creator and business owner, I am willing to see how you kept him as a friend, and as to why you forgave him.
TmarTn, if you are reading this, I hope you understand that with great power, comes with great responsibility. I wish all the best of luck, but I hope you are a little more wiser for the wear. Respect those that got you to where you are at, so that when you fall from how high you've become, that they would be ready to catch you at the bottom. Truthfully, I thought your content when you first started in the BO1 era, wasn't bad at all. However, as you became bigger, you started to become a little less viewer-centric, and more concerned with yourself. I am not religious, but I think Proverbs 11:28 is a good summary of how unethical behaviour can do. :) Please understand that the vast majority of people would forgive you, if you just had come clean with it. TmarTn Owh wow i didn’t expect you to respond to that, otherwise i would have watched my language,
      - Stealing content, not really. You asked people for gameplay a lot because you barely played the game which is fair. Chaosxsilencer really stole gameplay once in bo3, he uploaded a random video with grip testing with some other dudes voice without giving a shoutout in the description whatsoever
      - you travel a lot, i dont take that back
      - It seems like im not entirely right, i see multiple videos with the xp bar included. I see a few without but those were recorded during dlc events. I could have sworn a MP5 gameplay without the xp bar in a pub match where i saw you level up to level 15 about 40/50 days after release. I cant find that gameplay anymore... it was on vacant. Im not crazy, it did exist. I got upset over it 2 years ago. It also seems that it was not fair to judge you on that one video as you show the xp bar in many more (still low level though, that was the actual problem, but at least you were not trying to hide it). So i apologize for my misconception and accusation.
      - As a cod fanboy i didn’t like it when cod youtubers stopped playing cod. Without cod you wouldnt be where you are today. Although after recent releases of the series i understand how you can stop enjoying them, i got over it. But because drift0r uploaded this rant, i guess i felt the need to ‘express my feelings’ one more time.
Honestly you are(other channels)/were a great youtuber, i dislike how you kinda abandoned your main channel, yet you still upload good content (im not sure nowadays though im sorry, might check it out soon). It sucks that you lost interest in cod.

RUclips just recommended this video to me after all these years and I agree with your idea of forgiveness. You said that the bible said to forgive and forget, but that could not be further from the truth. Forgiveness is not forgetting, it is looking at the past mistakes that someone did and not letting those mistakes cause you anger. Anyway, I'm really loving rewatching your old content. Hope everything with your health gets better.

Drift0r, don't become a TMartTn apologist. That creep deserves all the backlash and more. The FTC should've banned his channel and website...

Drifter always shares a good themes in his videos , he’s just an all around genuine guy, I’ve been subbed to him for years , back since he played battlefield 3 before he got married, he’s still the same guy.

So I don’t understand. Why all the criticism, if Tmartn supposedly just ran a fully legitimate CSGO gambling site which didn’t scam kids?? Why has he lost so many sponsors, why has he lost a lot of money? Something doesn’t add up with this story......

    • @Andrewuk99
      @Andrewuk99 5 лет назад

He rigged his own rolls to win big. So scamming kids into thinking it was easy. Enticing them to gamble..very very low.

The message here is clear: Forgiveness. Doesn’t mean you have to forgive everyone, but in the bigger scheme of life, what Trevor did pales in comparison to what atrocious things thousands of scumbags in the world do on a daily basis to other people. Great vid Drift👍🏻

I always was quite skeptical after the event. The fact that he tried to slip away, not by coming clean, but by lying to his fans and victims didn't make it any better. I never witch-hunted him because it's not what I do but damn I was disappointed to him for what he's done. Your opinion, while a bit biased, is something that TmarTn clearly needed. And I really appreciate how you, in the end, just said you forgave him because you were his friend and you are a softy. I was expecting something like "he got more than what he deserved" or some other excuses for it, but no, you know your logic is a bit flawed but you just be honest to the people about it. So, thank you for the nice video and your insight on the subject, and I will try to forgive him and support both of you.

Agreed! my friends still talk about this but idc, i still watch his vlogs etc. i'm mean i wasn't affected by it since i didn't gamble and stuff. but i really think people should forgive him and move on, no point of hating, no need for that negative energy.
