    As a European that is probably never able to see all those beautiful places (god those colours were amazing) I really appreciate every camera shot, especially the drone. You being your responsible self makes it even more awesome. Thank you for really putting a meaning into leave no trace! Bonus points in this video as you carried so much positive energy from the get go. Thank you for sharing this moment with us (10:25) and I at least do care. Extra bonus points for the nails... made the comment too early, but that made me laugh. You rock!
    Btw... I wanted to ask since I'm trying out different support options.
    Do you get more benefit from YT memberships or Patreon? I know they always keep a cut, but I do wanna support you, not them.

    Great to see some SLC/Wasatch hikes - hope you enjoyed your time in SLC! If you make it back the peaks I suggest most would be Lone Peak (class 3-4, 6000 feet gain), Broads Fork Twin Peak (class 3-4, 5200 feet gain from Broads Fork) or Pfeifferhorn (class 2-3, about 3700 gain from Red Pine). Another good one is Mt. Superior/Monte Cristo which was the high peak above you to the southeast when you were on Sundial. If you're looking for trail all the way Timpanogos or Nebo are also excellent choices. How challenging would you say the scrambling/exposure is on Sundial compared to various Colorado 14ers? I did nearly all the Wasatch peaks in my younger days, but just a handful of 14ers, with Sneffels being the hardest terrain (class 2+ maybe?).

  • @slomantm
    @slomantm 5 месяцев назад +1

    Yoo! That's actually the next peak on my list! That's why I clicked on the video! I am also trying to get more comfortable scrambling. If you are still in Salt Lake may I recommend Pfifferhorn and White Baldy. They are in Little Cottonwood Canyon.

    You should definitely go over to little cottonwood and do the sugarloaf peak to devils castle loop. Passes Cecret lake which is another really pretty alpine lake

  • @Talus4Days
    @Talus4Days 6 месяцев назад +1

    Blanche same as the Golden Girl. I personally prefer to do Sundial as a loop by crossing the stream immediately and climbing up through a weakness in the cliff band. When you get on top of the ridge that way you are rewarded with a dramatic view of all three lakes immediately below, without the horn obstructing the view like it does from the true summit.

  • @granthawley9149
    @granthawley9149 6 месяцев назад +1

    You won't be able to do south ridge superior in Utah as it's closed to Oct which you'd love but a very unique one is West slabs on Olympus. Otherwise another great ridge is Lone Peak to Big Horn and you can continue the ridge to Pfeirherhorn if you want to keep the fun going!

    • @TheVirtualsherpa
      @TheVirtualsherpa  6 месяцев назад +2

      The part from like 8:10 is probably the crux of the actual climbing but there is another part I didn't show towards the end of the ridge 9:41 or so that had the most exposure. They are the Rainers made for REI, huge fan of Goodr
