It has come to my attention that frog form can jump from stair to stair in this design and bypass the entire honeycomb hell - but fear not! The solution is simple. Just place walls on the 2nd floor around the stair to completely deny this strategy!
You would probably want to wall off the second floor also because anyone in bat form would be able to clearly see the layout of the base. You should fly up and look at what the base looks like while flying.
7:44 if you do with out building a stairs here you can place the stairs right next to the natural ramp. This allows you to block gollems completely on the second floor. Also floors cant be destroyed either. There are very few occasions where you can use stairs to completely block an are in the fisrt level and build floor above it. Making the room in accessible. This is a vault that is not next to your heart and only you know where its at. Forcing raiders to use a key to access your goods.
Silly small advice but god does it pay out at the end.. make that second floor at the very beginning!!! I always make base and then moved the things later.. easy 1-2 hours wasted

They can't. Their entire method of making multlevel castles requires a path. Not to prevent being trapped, but to prevent "floating" castles. I'm pretty sure with all the bullshit rigging they had to do to shoehorn mutifloor castles into a game not at all built for it, means if they have floaty bits, the game will absolutely crash. And I doubt it can ever be fixed. What they're more likely to do, is tighten the rules on stair placement, so that stair spam isn't possible. Maybe a max cap of stairs per floor, or something. Dunno.
@@Kit-kk9cb It will be a challenge for sure but one thing for sure, non destoryable stairs is definitely not a good idea. Me personally I'd like to see better base defending with castles by letting players add traps in their bases rather than them making their castles a massive maze or honeycomb.
@@RhonenYT realistically oyu just put a castle tp at the front and pretend the rest doesn't exist. the first 2 floors can be basically basement floors in a sense where you never have to go through.

we have banshees that surround the heart with a drop in point of no return for those unwise enough to jump in, and servants at a double gated front choke. long enough that the golum is forced to go in between the two gates, by which we open the gates and the golum gets deleted
I honestly think they should make some caslte locations better. some are rly uselss since u can just walk near their caslte heart with the golem. Theyve made Castle raiding too easy. If u are offline ur castle is just weak af. Most of the time people raid others who are offline. I raided someones Caslte who had maxed out servants and one of the best base locations in the game. my mate and i were level 60. You can just kite them to a narrow space wolve ult and they are gone. The developers clearly dont play this game themselves. I love this game, but it could be so much better if they just used their brain. They should either make us move caslte hearts to the first or second floor or remove wolve ult. this skill is completly gamebreaking and its stupid considering the amount of damage u can do. Put more servants in there ??? No because wolve ult gets better. Ruining someones work that took several hours by pressing 1 button is insane and totally wrong!!! They shouldnt make castles unraidable dont get me wrong, but at least make it somewhat challenging when someone is offline. I personally prefer raiding online people for the fun, but when im not maxed out... Of course im gonna steal from the rich, like everyone else. What do you guys think?

Your video about explosives shows it. I like that you raid online players and i hope more people act like you for the Sake of a healthy Server. They can get really creative, for example adding different castle bosses. People Would go nuts over that. At the moment your castle cant be beautiful and secure at the same time. And there is the General dilemma. You can make your Place somewhat safe. It will Look weird thogh. The time you have the mats to build a cool Looking castle is the time you have Nothing else left to do. BUT people will Raid you guys, you have to exepct it. They/I will take your stuff.... But who cares if you dont have a shard Servants will bring you your stuff in no time. So why not build an iced out crib with no 1000 walls to repair when getting raided. I think people like you are the best and i love it that guys like you care about the community and their Servers. Atm that is what keeps the game alive. And i hope someday most Servers will have online raiding as a rule.

Here's a question. Say there are 2 entrances to your castle. If you use the wide staircase to completely block off an entrance, does that mean they have to use the other entrance to get inside your castle?
Note for the second floor.. I made empty machineries and empty cabinets.. a fake base :) if they go there.. time runs out and it’s an empty floor. Ofc I can use it but have to empty it before raid times. Usually I make fake prison.. with useless bloods there which I can use for ex blood vials for necks etc. That needs a 400+ block server / castle though
I know you want to make your content but this is basically a glitch made by devs (which is a mistake) People holding shards are never gonna lose it because of this glitch😂

now i want to break down my base and move to a better location using these tips....however, the server i play on only allows one heart. I feel like it's risky to break down all my stuff wont i have to destroy my chests? I can only carry so much but im a bit of a noob so was wondering if you had any tips for doing this move without risking my chests.

Yes it is assumed that you have to use a key - you can force key usage by adding a 100 tile long 1 wide path of only walls between the ground floor and your loot
Yeah that one's rough... I'd strongly recommend you all go Void and spam that shit then hope they hit each other if they try to go into a chokepoint like the one in the video

There has been a patch so that building like this is no longer possible as it was deemed too OP. The reason the golem would take this path is because it's the shortest path: There is only one entrance to the castle and there are no "back walls" :)
Isnt it good to also use different hallways with windows ? You can shoot through windows, so you can attack the enemies without actually opening the doors and opening them a path. And also putting shutters on the windows will let you close them easily. Also when they are going up the stairs it is good to have windows behind and to the sides of them so that you can shoot them in the back while they are destroying the door at the end of the doors.
Either that OR depending on base you can split them up such that they are both equally far from the entrance but also perhaps 10 tiles from each other - force raiders to choose!
lightning orb is a better spell for destroying a forming golem 7-8 of them destroys it and you can cast that many solo in the time it takes to make it so if you have even a duo theyd be hard pressed to ever spawn a golem on you
@@RhonenYT yeah but even if they drop 2 a duo could still kill them as i said 1 person can cast enough in the time it takes to summon the cooldown is only 9 seconds i believe to cast also if the duo mixes in the blizzard ultimate itll be even easier that also does a lot of damage to the golems and hits a wide area the raiders will have to make sure to have the golems spaced out pretty far i watched a duo instant kill a spawning golem with 2 blizzards and 2 lightning ball attacks last week they may have also used fan the hammer ability from guns too but it was gone so fast
Okey so i realize that now the 14:44 "trick" was kinda buggy, cuz now it takes the "natural stairs" as a stair aswell, also, u can safely walk between stairs in a border (micro border) as a golem.
You can still use these tricks to make the golem's path longer but yeah they patched that because I made another video where I showcased how to make a base 100% unraidable with a stair exploit :)

Yeah I did something similar to make my base like 30ish doors but better spot imo. I think this may be the most doors / best spot tho but you can’t double door the front. I think the hp on double doors a bit higher
Stairs have been patched as this was a little too op so some stair placements will no longer work but stairs remain vital to defense, especially around the entrance
@@EAErue Try to block off as much as possible with stairs - they made it harder but you can still do it. You just can't make your base literally 100% unraidable anymore(people got banned for doing that hahaha). Flower plots no longer block explosives either
Really hoping Stunlock sees how busted their building system is. Even before this, making a bunch of square rooms is just lame. Even from a pure gameplay standpoint (Ignoring the fact it looks like ass) having raid proof bases just means endgame you do nothing. Throw in a banshee room halfway, have several castles in the group all doing the same thing, only store your stuff at one of them. You'd honestly never see anyone raiding anymore. You'd become an uber eats driver for repair mats.
Stumbled upon this accidentally as I was looking for some stair stuff in V Rising. And now I realise thanks to this video that I am very happy about my decision not to play PvP. But kudos for the meticulous effort in optimising your base defenses against other players.
@@RhonenYT yea, that is if person uses servants well. But on my server clan thar has shards, they position servants near shards while heart is on the other side. So i am thinking if i use a key on heart what will happend to servants. Its server with normal settings. Its not fool loot
I also never understood why not just grief/wall everything off if you’re either not online or are lazy when it’s raid time. Remove all the doors and place walls instead and make them cry
The problem with the door spam is once they key the base via heart they can open doors . I’d go with walls from 2nd level upwards with a maze like pattern with lots of air gaps leading up to 3rd .. as it forces no matter what the attackers to follow an exact pathway
when you get keyed, the walls/doors basically go translucent and you can literally just walk through them, dont need to open anything, just phase through. the only thing that stays "normal" is refiners and storage. the only viable strategy for 2nd floor if your 3rd is production is to have the stairs from 1st to 2nd on one side of the base and have the staircase up to the 3rd on the complete opposite side, as far away as possible so perhaps they have to spend an extra 30 seconds finding it while you respawn or heal
wait, can u use stairs to block the entrance when logging out, and be actually offline unraidable? did they patch the stairs not breaking? seems cheaty in a large way
@@RhonenYT i was able to put a straight stair case at my base entrance right below the cursed forest in Dunley. That's why i was asking cos i didn't know if i should remove it or not. but there is a staircase there blocking the way in on one side right at this moment.
@@EmvyBeats Are you sure you can't just walk around it? - If the only thing placed down is the stair you're almost certainly able to walk around it, you always need something more than that to truly block off an entrance. Still useful vs golem ranged attacks though! Forces them to go melee
Can u do a raiding defense video with this same castle design? mine have double stairs at the bottom, so is really difficult to make large choke points, also how do u send the servants to the golem? if u open the door and golem is here, servants will die cuz golem can enter quickly and destroy the coffins, so i think its better to have the servants at the heart.

Does this not work anymore? I try and place the stairs the same way you place it in the video, yet it says it's simply "blocked by environment"

Just build a huge Winchester Mansion type of castle with lots of stairs and doors that lead to nowhere.

Why not just place stairs in both ways everywhere in a line. Golem can't enter!? We don't need to give the golem any space.

that can be useful but opening the doors allows you to trap them; if they go in or with spear E/merc charge

This is why experienced raiders never use a single golem, minimum is 2 at a time

All that effort when the lifespan of a server is 2 to 4 days.
join a server in your region with a lot of people on it mid-day on a weekday. Thats usually a good sign that a server is alive.

Stairs have been patched as this was a little too op so some stair placements will no longer work but stairs remain vital to defense, especially around the entrance

@@EAErue Try to block off as much as possible with stairs - they made it harder but you can still do it. You just can't make your base literally 100% unraidable anymore(people got banned for doing that hahaha). Flower plots no longer block explosives either

Really hoping Stunlock sees how busted their building system is. Even before this, making a bunch of square rooms is just lame. Even from a pure gameplay standpoint (Ignoring the fact it looks like ass) having raid proof bases just means endgame you do nothing. Throw in a banshee room halfway, have several castles in the group all doing the same thing, only store your stuff at one of them. You'd honestly never see anyone raiding anymore. You'd become an uber eats driver for repair mats.
They need to drive PvP to the overworld, castle sieges should be super special events and totally reworked.
Stumbled upon this accidentally as I was looking for some stair stuff in V Rising. And now I realise thanks to this video that I am very happy about my decision not to play PvP. But kudos for the meticulous effort in optimising your base defenses against other players.
Does key disables servants?
To use a key you have to reach the castle heart; Meaning you already passed through the servants
@@RhonenYT yea, that is if person uses servants well. But on my server clan thar has shards, they position servants near shards while heart is on the other side. So i am thinking if i use a key on heart what will happend to servants. Its server with normal settings. Its not fool loot

I also never understood why not just grief/wall everything off if you’re either not online or are lazy when it’s raid time. Remove all the doors and place walls instead and make them cry
walls and doors have the same HP, so is better to just place doors where you can flank and maneuverr instead of walls wich they will break anyway
Devs should limit maximum amount of doors and dont allow put stairs right before entrance for the balance. This is ridiculous.
Put servants in your castle heart room to make them un-skippable then you can design shortest path as you wish
Thing is, you want to prevent a breach in the first place - that's much more effective. That's why you put them near the entrance instead
guess it depends on the layout of your base.
The problem with the door spam is once they key the base via heart they can open doors . I’d go with walls from 2nd level upwards with a maze like pattern with lots of air gaps leading up to 3rd .. as it forces no matter what the attackers to follow an exact pathway
when you get keyed, the walls/doors basically go translucent and you can literally just walk through them, dont need to open anything, just phase through. the only thing that stays "normal" is refiners and storage. the only viable strategy for 2nd floor if your 3rd is production is to have the stairs from 1st to 2nd on one side of the base and have the staircase up to the 3rd on the complete opposite side, as far away as possible so perhaps they have to spend an extra 30 seconds finding it while you respawn or heal
wait, can u use stairs to block the entrance when logging out, and be actually offline unraidable? did they patch the stairs not breaking? seems cheaty in a large way
I have another video where I use some tricks to do exactly that - but it's thankfully been patched since!

@@RhonenYT i was able to put a straight stair case at my base entrance right below the cursed forest in Dunley. That's why i was asking cos i didn't know if i should remove it or not. but there is a staircase there blocking the way in on one side right at this moment.
@@EmvyBeats Are you sure you can't just walk around it? - If the only thing placed down is the stair you're almost certainly able to walk around it, you always need something more than that to truly block off an entrance. Still useful vs golem ranged attacks though! Forces them to go melee
yeah.. giving away the secret , now every server will have these type of bases and servers will die 10x faster..

Can u do a raiding defense video with this same castle design? mine have double stairs at the bottom, so is really difficult to make large choke points, also how do u send the servants to the golem? if u open the door and golem is here, servants will die cuz golem can enter quickly and destroy the coffins, so i think its better to have the servants at the heart.
Destroying the coffins does nothing to the servants - if the golem enters the room simply lock it inside
