How does this correspond with your tip about drawing a line down the ball and putting that line between your feet, the turning your left foot and moving your right foot apart? Do you still center up with the ball, or do you center up with your line 3 inches behind?
Alex, As always great tips, but I have a question on driver head hitting. Have you ever had a number of students put hitting tape or foot spray on the driver face. Then have them hit and record impact points. Be interesting to see results. Cheers, Joel Halprin
Alex, I’m an avid listener to your program. Every day I listen to your latest tip. I’ve been slicing the ball more than I would like to admit. Your latest tip on teeing the golf ball lower and starting the club 3 inches behind the ball and slightly off center of club face is my new set up. I was bombing the ball today. Longest drive 271, and consistently out around 240-250. I also incorporated your bunker set up and I’m getting out of bunkers beautifully. Love all your lessons and I’m down to a 7 handicap. I’m also 67 yrs old and a throat cancer survivor. 100% cancer free and playing golf 3-4 days a week. CHEERS!
🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼 Thank you for this, really appreciate the message. Well done you for working on your game like you have and so good to hear you beat cancer. Keep at it alan!🙌🏼
1:51 Excellent! Skeptical at 1st. Took this advice to the course yesterday and , “wow!” What a difference! Clean strike, reduced slice improved consistency, increased confidence! Thank you for sharing!
I just took this video to the net in my garage, took some videos and my swing doesnt even look the same!!! i was soo over the top before and now its just shallow and hitting the middle of the face!?! HOW!? I cant wait to get this on the course!! Thanks brother!
Alex,I just wanted to take a moment to say thank you for all your great advice. .At 71 I'll never be a tour player but you've helped my game and for that I'm very grateful. Sincerely, George Davey U.S.A.
Wow that is a great hack. I just went to the garage and gave it a go with some contact paper on the driver. Terrific! I had the tee height down but the other two were really helpful, especially lining up closer to the toe. The centrifugal aspect of the driver is real.
Alex, I affixed one of those white stickers to the face of my driver. It showed the impact point on the face of my driver and I noticed how often I was striking the ball near the heal of the club. I changed my address like you suggested and it makes a tremendous difference. I am now striking the ball near or on the sweet spot and my direction and control of the driver has been greatly enhanced. Great tip! Really appreciated your straight-foward approach. You get right to the point and you simplify the instructions. Really appreciate you.
Alex I have struggled with slice forever and tried this today. Basically fixed the problem immediately and I was suddenly hitting baby draws. Can’t thank you enough for this simple fix!
Nice,... I just did it during the last hole of league yesterday. Hit the best drive, distance and feel wise that I can remember in the longest time. Birdied the hole but only to cancel out a skin from the better player on the league. Which still feels like a win for me lol.
Toe-alignment, and well-behind the ball at address, tips were the reminders I’ve been needing so badly!! Everything was crowding in my downswing but *snap* just like that, I can really feel the freedom to accelerate through impact and make clean contact with the ball again! Drawlellujah!!
Just wow!! Me and a friend that also struggle with the driver tried the 2nd tip today and it worked right away, we thought there’s was a glitch in the matrix, but I think we hit the rest of the basket dead strait with a few exceptions. Thank you, we can actually enjoy golf now!
wow! took your tips with me to the ranch and hit 15 straight long drives in a row with good ball striking. my usual miss is heel, but now i hit the middle. Thanks for this simple and effective tip. 🙂
These are great tips. This is how I've been hitting the ball for years. I went in for a professional fitting that he told me to do nearly the opposite of everything you stated. They clearly didn't sell me any clubs...
I watched this video the night before i was going to play, the simple adjustments talked about straightened my drive and added about 25 yards. I couldnt believe how simple it was.
Hi Alex! Thankyou, thankyou, thankyou..... I played today and followed all what you say in this video ...... I drived the ball off the tee better than ever in my life . Plus made putts....WoW! A very good day at the office🎉.
Hi Alex I started using your tip by setting the driver 3 inches behind the ball and out of the toe. I was hitting some of my drives from 180 metres total to 235 metres and it gave me more height. Thanks Alex
Alex! I just used your lesson for my driver and irons. I tee'd the ball just half for driver and marked the triangle on right and x on left side of ball. OMG - I hit so many more consistent shots, and having my right foot at an angle changed my game so much! I subscribed and thank you!!!
Yet another great tip! I followed the steps and my driver shot improved. Wonderful great feeling with good driver shot. I shared this video with my new golf mate and they are getting better and better with their drive shot.
Alex. Used you tee peg trick with driver today (FYI just bought my first driver). After hitting the ground on my first three tries, I put the a marker to the back right of the driver as a focus point. In nutted 3 in a row! This totally works.
This video fixed my driver yipps. I also now over exaggerate my lean, and stay back, and I’m blasting close to 300 yards dead straight. Shot my best round in a club tournament last week. Thanks Alex!
I tried the toe set up and it did help. I hit the ball plenty high bet have struggled to be straight. Today my big miss was 5 yards. I was consistently to the right. I was thinking hit the inside left of the ball. My tee up tip. Place your tea into the ground and then play Chevelle just in front of it to where the tea height is at the top of your ball. This will put you very close to the epicenter of the ball being halfway above your club.. easy fix. Can’t wait to hit a Bucket an practice this drive tip more
Brilliant advice. It has taken me multiple years to come to the exact same three points- unfortunately through A LOT of trial and error. I honestly have learned and improved more from watching these videos than from ANY in person lesson. THANK YOU 🙏🏽
What a great lesson.. went to the range after watching it.. and dialled in lining up the toe and resting the club on the floor a clubhead behind… bye bye slice.. central fairway most of the time
Im a 6.1 index and have been struggling somewhat off the tee. I tried these suggestions today and absolutely killed it. Only missed one fairway. I think it encourages a bit more in to out swing path. ‘Very happy with these simple yet effective tips.
TY Alex, I appreciate this so much. I have been trying to adjust to a new set of longer clubs. Was told I wasn't using right length. Altgough I was very successful with the old driver. Now I am trying to
Alex you did it again. I bought a new driver a few weeks ago and the first rounds it was constantly missing right! Trying to correct it turned into duck hooks. I tried this on my round this morning and the one I missed right was just a slight fade and I hit high draws on all the rest. How refreshing to have some confidence again! Thanks again!
Omg 😮. I started with watching your earlier video hitting from the front of the toe which helped me tremendously. After watching this video by adding the 3 inches out is a game changer! I must have added about 20 yards give or take more. Thank u so much Alex n enjoy Portugal 😁
Great demonstration that makes total sense. I discovered that awhile ago in regards to ball position to the face of the club. I now have to try the 3 inches behind the club face. I am sure it will work. Thanks for your demonstrations. Keep them coming.
All excellent tips Alex on Driver alignment and tee height! Because of the inconsistencies of of our grassed tee boxes, I carry two length tees (3 1/4" & 2 3/4"). I do use your recommended tee height. I like your suggestion of addressing the ball towards the toe because on occasion I do get "off center" hits! I also like your other suggestion of setting the club three inches or so in back of the ball in order to get an upward strike on the drive!
YOUR SITE IS POSSIBLY BEING HACKED!! Unless you are issuing notifications of "short list of prize winners", than you are possibly being hacked! I highly recommend you have someone look into this! Thanks!
Great tip for driver. My sand game has improved a ton by lining it up off the toe with an open face. No fear and I can pop it up nicely as long as I take a clump of sand under the ball.
Saw the Average Golfer ‘testing this tip’ - tried it and found amazing results on the range so then watched your v-log and subscribed. Looking forward to catching up with your channel 😊 and working on this approach further
I have to say that I was a bit sceptical about placing the driver about 3" behind the ball....the rest of the stuff I already do...so thought I would try the 3" behind set up, well...OMG, I have been hitting strainer than ever and with distance too...lovely ball flight also, brilliant tip haven't hit driver so well....also,you did a bunker video...really crouched down almost squatting....bugger me, works a treat, all I can say is that these two tips have made my game alot better, thanks very much keep up the good work....👍🏻
Going back to setting the ball back sorry to interrupt your Portugal break!! Lol did struggle with the 7 iron pushes to the right or didn’t close the face will work on it cheers any way 👍👍
Wow that is a very good tips for driver mate.. i've tried it and i never hit the ball on the heel area anymore, no more pain to the hand because of vibration from heel hit and also i can hit the ball much more consistent with no more of that nightmarish slice.. thanks mate imma locked on to this way of addressing the ball for the driver forever lol 👍👍👍👍👍
Tried this today for the first time on the range. Unbelievable! I thought it was a fluke. I hit two dozen with driver. Striped every one. Dead straight or slight draw… 👌. I’ve been struggling with push/cuts. I’m gonna use this from here on out. Start it off the toe!! 🔥🤯
Alex, thanks for this valuable tip, went to the driving range today, and sure as heck this worked 100%, did have the odd one fade or slice a bit but not as bad as before, practice well help me perfect it.
Hi Alex, I watched this video yesterday and put it into practice this morning. I moved the ball an inch or so from centre out to the toe of the driver and what a difference. I didnt fluff one shot and they all seemed to come from the middle of the club and travel further too. Thanks for the advice, you've made a huge difference - Nick
I'd naturally started lining up with the toe of the face to combat my slice and felt like a bit of a headcase but it worked! Love seeing a video that justifies what I'm doing! 😁
I just got back from a week's golf in Portugal and wish I'd seen this video before I went! Kept hitting the driver off the heel and this tip makes so much sense! Have now subscribed to your channel :)
Tee height varies based on shot type. And I keep the club a foot or so behind. It's my focus that I adjust. I don't look at the ball, I look at the point I want the club to bottom out. I find I bottom out where I focus when taking practice swings so I learned to use that. I can focus close and he t it low or focus three inches behind and hit it high. I can also help achieve the right path with that focal point by moving it inside or outside the ball. As for finding the right portion of the face two tees make a gate that gives instant feedback. My Cobra drivers black face shows an imprint mark still after every swing. I use that during play. I just wipe it clean after every swing and I can count the dimples and see how well I compressed the ball it's so clear. I love that.
Just started doing the "address off the toe" and it worked ....pro at the club not happy tho ....going to keep trying it after this video tho and see how it goes
I started to address at the toe to help combat chronic heel strikes. It definitely helps. I just recently started addressing a few inches behind, but i still hover. I'll give this a shot.
Alex I love watching your golf videos. As you state you really do keep it simple. I always wondered why some of the best draws I ever hit was when I addressed the ball on the toe. You explained it so well. Thanks Alex. Keep up the great work.
Today I put the club three inches behind the ball on the ground for the first time and adressed it towards the toe. Hit my drives dead straight and not bad for a lady ; ) . Thank you Alex.
I figured this out a while back and wanted to see if you had some extra tips for it. I’m definitely going to try setting it up a few inches behind the ball at address. Thanks!
Excellent tips Alex, thank you for posting. I cannot wait to get out & try this. As for ball height off the teeing ground, simple, use stepped tees. I use 38mm for my driver & 12mm for everything else. It takes the ball height variable out of the equation.
4:42 the top line of the face looks set for a slice, for years I’ve squared that up to the ball. What am I seeing and why? You can see it but does it square naturally in the swing? Thanks
I just buy the 2 3/4 castle tees and it’s made a world of difference for me. I’ll have to try the toe lineup and 3 inches behind though for sure. Thanks for the great content
I've started reaching out a little farther when I line up my driver. that's in addition to the improvements to stance and grip. it gives me a freer swing and reduces the over the top tendency.
I just realized yesterday, as I was playing, and now that you mentioned it, I was teeing the ball waaay to high. And kept on hitting the dreaded duck hook! 😬
Started lining up my driver like this last year, the only difference is that I start with the head of the driver about 6 inches behind the ball instead of 3. I was shocked at the difference it made. Much more consistent with my driver and 3 wood.
*This is a MUST DO! Iv done it for years! Make sure you do it to now!*
Makes a ton of sense Alex.
How does this correspond with your tip about drawing a line down the ball and putting that line between your feet, the turning your left foot and moving your right foot apart? Do you still center up with the ball, or do you center up with your line 3 inches behind?
If I go 3 inches behind the ball, hitting it on the heel, will get my slice back?
Holy smokes...my "centrifugal force" idea was right, I was just kind of nervous about trying it on the course. C'mon Saturday!
Alex, As always great tips, but I have a question on driver head hitting. Have you ever had a number of students put hitting tape or foot spray on the driver face. Then have them hit and record impact points. Be interesting to see results. Cheers, Joel Halprin
These are great lessons. Quick and straight forward. No 20 minutes of bs before the lesson. You say it then you show it. Love it. New subscriber here.

Did this this past Tuesday during league on last hole. It absolutely worked especially the toe line up. Best hit I ever hit
Nice,... I just did it during the last hole of league yesterday. Hit the best drive, distance and feel wise that I can remember in the longest time. Birdied the hole but only to cancel out a skin from the better player on the league. Which still feels like a win for me lol.
LOVE THAT
@AlexElliottGolf I'm finding the fairways more with this. Every now and then I have a brain fart and hit a slice but that's from me over thinking
This is probably the best and simplistic video explained from the 100s I’ve been watching. You put me at ease. Thank you 🙏
Glad it helped! Thanks for watching

Alex, I tried this yesterday and man did it make a difference in my drives. Thank you so much. Consistently good.
You are great at golf tips!!!
Great to hear!
I have tried the turning the club head and now addressing the ball technique and all of it has helped me a lot. Thank you!
wow! took your tips with me to the ranch and hit 15 straight long drives in a row with good ball striking. my usual miss is heel, but now i hit the middle. Thanks for this simple and effective tip. 🙂

Watched this last night and tried it out today. Great results!! My new driver swing, thanks Alex.
I knew it! Somthing was off and unconsciously discovered this! Thanks for the video and confirmation!!!
Hi Alex! Thankyou, thankyou, thankyou..... I played today and followed all what you say in this video ...... I drived the ball off the tee better than ever in my life . Plus made putts....WoW! A very good day at the office🎉.

Yet another great tip! I followed the steps and my driver shot improved. Wonderful great feeling with good driver shot. I shared this video with my new golf mate and they are getting better and better with their drive shot.
I tried this today at the driving range and as usual, you're absolutely right mate. Thanks Alex.

Alex, the "John Rahm" video was awesome and I really benefitted. The toe tip is my next stop, can't wait.
thank you! glad they help
I tried the toe set up and it did help. I hit the ball plenty high bet have struggled to be straight.

TY Alex, I appreciate this so much. I have been trying to adjust to a new set of longer clubs. Was told I wasn't using right length. Altgough I was very successful with the old driver. Now I am trying to
Figure it out all over again! I am connecting~ but not as consistent as be4
This by far the best advice and proven. I actually started doing the same thing by trail an error. Do one for your irons and woods please.

Great tip for driver. My sand game has improved a ton by lining it up off the toe with an open face. No fear and I can pop it up nicely as long as I take a clump of sand under the ball.
I appreciate your passion and support for all golfers to fully understand their own swing so we can fix our problem through practice.
thank you!
Saw the Average Golfer ‘testing this tip’ - tried it and found amazing results on the range so then watched your v-log and subscribed. Looking forward to catching up with your channel 😊 and working on this approach further
Fantastic little tweak to help your driving. I was suddenly pulling left and this fixed me quickly.

This REALLY works I’m definitely hitting more out of the centre of the face after this !
Thanks Alex.
Yet again another gem tried another tip today setting the ball half a ball back with the scoring irons what a difference cheers 👍👍
Thank you Andy!! I really appreciate the support I hope you golf is improving
Going back to setting the ball back sorry to interrupt your Portugal break!! Lol did struggle with the 7 iron pushes to the right or didn’t close the face will work on it cheers any way 👍👍
Hi Alex, wow tried this today on the course and what a difference it made. Didn't slice a shot all day, just straight bombs. Thanks for the tip
Brill! really glad this has helped you
I do this too. It works you'll hit the sweet spot more often.
Thanks Alex
YESSSS so happy to hear you do this
Wow that is a very good tips for driver mate.. i've tried it and i never hit the ball on the heel area anymore, no more pain to the hand because of vibration from heel hit and also i can hit the ball much more consistent with no more of that nightmarish slice.. thanks mate imma locked on to this way of addressing the ball for the driver forever lol 👍👍👍👍👍
Tried this today with amazing results. Many thanks
Best video yet! Can’t wait to go to the beeches and practice that one!!! You’ve just described me! Thankyou! Also I want lessons so hit me up mate
Great tip..always been back of the ball but lining up the toe to the ball has made a huge difference!
Alex, thanks for this valuable tip, went to the driving range today, and sure as heck this worked 100%, did have the odd one fade or slice a bit but not as bad as before, practice well help me perfect it.
You’re right Alex you’re not crazy it works ! Cheers
Great tips! It actually works very well. Thank you Alex.
Nice. Thanks for the proper set up. Always knew this, never used it, now to the range!
I to did do as Alex suggested. It works. Did this tip work for the other clubs in the bag
I'd naturally started lining up with the toe of the face to combat my slice and felt like a bit of a headcase but it worked! Love seeing a video that justifies what I'm doing! 😁
I did exactly this about 2 years ago and went from a slicer to the best driver in the group.. Straight almost all the time now.
Alex, Tried this today. Amazing, 9/13 fairways, pretty good for me. Thanks
I just got back from a week's golf in Portugal and wish I'd seen this video before I went! Kept hitting the driver off the heel and this tip makes so much sense! Have now subscribed to your channel :)
thanks so much! Appreciate that
Tee height varies based on shot type.
Hi Alex,
Thank you for the tips. I'll be visiting Porto, Portugal at the end of August for the first time. Cheers.
Made these changes last round.
Hit my lowest score to date. Cheers 🎉
Can't wait to get out to the course and give it a try great stuff today thank you very much Alex
Mannnnn....this is absolutely true. Not many understand this!.Now the answer is what has been exhibited here.👏👏🤝🤝🤝
Today I put the club three inches behind the ball on the ground for the first time and adressed it towards the toe. Hit my drives dead straight and not bad for a lady ; ) . Thank you Alex.
LOVE that Eva!!!! 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
Ball on string is a great analogy and makes perfect sense.
So easy to understand golf lessons, thanks a bunch
NO GOLF ⛳️ CHANNEL is doing the ‘Player Cam Perspective’!!!
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE 🙏 Keep doing this in your videos!
Game changer
I’ve been hovering for years; I’m trying out these tips next week!!
Another amazing tip. Your videos are a game changer for me and your instructions make replicating these tips just make it so easy!
I’m getting excited to try this out on the range tomorrow! Thanks Alex!
let me know how you get on!
I figured this out a while back and wanted to see if you had some extra tips for it. I’m definitely going to try setting it up a few inches behind the ball at address. Thanks!
This is the advice that I was waiting for. Thank you.
Thank you
I faded constantly. My golf coach told me this exact set up. It fixed my driving.
I started lining up with the toe some time ago and my slice evaporated instantly!
So good. Will try it on my next game. Thank you.
Great driving tips Alex.
Brilliant, I’ll try that on range tomorrow, thanks.
Excellent tips Alex, thank you for posting. I cannot wait to get out & try this.
As for ball height off the teeing ground, simple, use stepped tees.
I use 38mm for my driver & 12mm for everything else. It takes the ball height variable out of the equation.
Addressing the ball a few inches behind encourages weight shift to get through the ball, otherwise there’s a risk of topping it. Good video, thanks
I accidentally discovered the toe alignment trick down the range last night - didn’t understand why it worked but that make so much sense!🎉
Nice one Alex, glad to see you finally playing in the warmth. Pity Manila is so far away as we've got so many great and challenging courses here.
4:42 the top line of the face looks set for a slice, for years I’ve squared that up to the ball. What am I seeing and why? You can see it but does it square naturally in the swing? Thanks
This is great info. Can't wait to try this method.
Your so correct on every point, genius.
this is always what i do
so smart don’t see many people do it
I just buy the 2 3/4 castle tees and it’s made a world of difference for me.
Sounds easy. I am playing tomorrow and will try it out.
Started lining up my driver like this last year, the only difference is that I start with the head of the driver about 6 inches behind the ball instead of 3. I was shocked at the difference it made. Much more consistent with my driver and 3 wood.
I have hovered for years with great success. It works well since I tee it high and let it fly. Address it slightly off the toe.
Thanks. Great Tips I have not head before.
