    SEAT HARNESS! I was a strong believer in waist harness until my back forced me to change to seat harness. The best decision ever. Every non professional should consider it. I surf in the waves of cape town 5 month a year, but being 57 years now, the seat harness saves so much energy and I stay longer on the water. I will never go back.

    Perfect timing: I just received an adjustable outhaul system and now have some very useful pointers on how to make the most of it.

    Hi Wojtek - I'm returning to windsurfing after a long break and was considering getting rid of my seat harness - not anymore 😅 thanks for the vote of confidence that not everyone wants a waist harness!

    I switched back to a seat harness after I got sick of the constant back cramps, especially on long reaches. It was like getting aquainted with an old friend again. I will only use my waist harness in extreme bump and jump now, the seat harness (mine is a high hook version) is so much more comfortable, plus I can plane sooner too without pumping

    Great video content covering imprtant subjects having always loved seat harnesses, just getting into adjustable outhauls and experimenting outside of Severne's recommended outhaul and downhaul settings. Yes, I generally run my sail 2cm higher than suggested but will try raising it by 4cm as well as increasing my downhaul. I found that their suggested outhaul is the maximum and much better to run at least 4cm less.

    Maybe you have a tip of what to do when you hands get dry. Because alot of the times my hands get very dry and then it become to hard to hold the boom because your hand are slipery and have no friction so i need to use alot of hand power to hold it.

      You can see on this video that I tap my hands against my legs (wet neoprene). This helps a lot. Also you can very gently send your boom grip with 40 or 60 grid sandpaper. But be very gentle.

    Hi Wojtek, i changed back from waist harness to a seat harness again, not only because of a injury (broken ripbow caused by waist harness), but also back pain. As you say, now i use a dakine nitrous short with windsurfhook - perfect comfort - perfect control - but the POD is on my mind. Btw. which length of harness lines are you using? Not extremely long i suggest - like me. Which waist-mount for the action-cam are you using? And again thanks for your great tips!!🤙

      Hi. I use Unifiber Adjustable harness lines 26-36 and have it adjusted most of the time to ca. 32. This is for slalom. For wave and foil I use 36.

      Thank you, i now changed to Unifiber fixed in 30". Before i always tended to use 26-28".

    I agree seat harness is more relaxing. I just freeride / small waves. I've got Severne pod seat harness and found it great for fin windsurfing. I use with 36 inch harness lines. I've also got Point-7 seat harness and that is my favourite. I think the Point-7 seat harness is better for wind foiling as the leg straps are much thinner and the harness stays in place better. The trouble with Severne pod is if i am windfoiling unhooked then the harness drops a bit and doesn't feel good, maybe due to too wide leg straps that you get conscious of. When up on the foil i am mostly unhooked. Maybe i can find a better adjustment for pod, don't know.

    I’m wondering if you have ever considered riding a no-cam or 2-cam sail? You mention a lot the comfort aspect in your videos and for me who does not have the skills you do the full racing sail feels very heavynand not comfortable. I see many brand in youtube pushing for those no cam or 2 cam sails and claim the speed is the same, comfort is much better and you only lose a bit in acceleration.
    I’m currently riding a waist harness, but thinking about buying Liberty harness or something similar that is in between waist and seat harness.

      Hi. I use quite often non cam sails during my clinics. No cam sail is very nice for freeriding and I strongly recomend it. By far my favourite one is Severne NCX. The profile is like a race Mach6 sail but it has no cams. Cam sails are only for those guys who want to go extremaly fast.

    • @wojtekbrzozowski
      @wojtekbrzozowski  7 месяцев назад +2

      And Liberty is very comfortable harness😁

    • @topcatracing
      @topcatracing Месяц назад

      I exclusively use the Severne Turbo/Moto twin cam sails from 5.5 to 7.8m and are fast, stable and reasonably easy to waterstart so not fearful of getting stuck out in open water if drop a gybe. Not the ultimate speed of the Mach sails but a good compromise.

    Leverage and therefore control is higher with waist harness, not seat harness! That's why the PWA guys use it.

    • @wojtekbrzozowski
      @wojtekbrzozowski  7 месяцев назад +2

      I think you miss the phisics behind it. To create a leverage you need to have hanging point as far from the mass as possible. In this case the mass is your upper body and your head.

    • @PolopKarob
      @PolopKarob 3 месяца назад

      yes right thought, probably its realy only other way (havnt tried it): the waist harness gives more power some other videos have told!
      thats what PWA is probably about, power and speed! i would still consider taking a seat, too :D
