I love this information. I started using Hydroxyapatite toothpaste after my dentist said I have a small cavity just starting to form on one of my top teeth. I am so careful taking care of my teeth with flossing and brushing twice a day and have not been told I had a cavity in well over 10 years. I decided to put off having it repaired until after my next appt in July. Fingers crossed...smile!

i use both, in the morning i use pronamel which is highly concentrated fluoride, and i use Hydroxyapatite mouthwash in the day and at night after brushing

Hydroxyapatite toothpaste is expensive to me, and also has only about 10% of hydroxyapatite in it. I recently bought hydroxyapatite powder, and use it to brush my teeth. After using about 3 month , I noticed that perviously, I can see crack lines on two of my teeth, and I see less mark of cracks now. Although the crack lines still there, but improved noticeably. However, I don’t know whether it is nano or micro hydroxyapatite.

Recently switched to Designs for Health PerioBiotic Silver Hydroxyapatite Toothpaste. Only been using it a week and notice a big difference. The "big brands" would dry out my mouth. Feel like it is really working well curious to see how my check up/cleaning goes in a few months. Thanks for the info!
What do you think about zinc hydroxyapatite? It is in biorepair night toothpaste and i am curios about how effetcive it is.
P. S. I feel weird acid in mouth after using nanohydroxiapatite products, is it normal?
Hm not sure I understand what you mean by “weird acid”… I didn’t get an acidic feeling… do you have metal fillings?

I have used nHA toothpaste for about a month. I have parodentitis, and I don´t want to loose my teeth. I´m allergig to clorhexidine, so I use hydrogen peroxide twice a week. I addition I use a powefloss, and I use an electric toothbrush. I am very exited on what it did to my teeth on my next dentist apointment. I have been very thorough with my teeth, and I hope not to loose any more. I had retracted 3 molars over the years, mostly because the amalgam made them crack, and because I did´nt take good enough care of my teeth. When I was a child, nobody cared, until I started school. The scool dentist had us flush in flour water once a week, and I think it saved a lot of my teeth. I´m 60 now, and have a good smile, no veneers, just my own teeth. I am proud of that.

I have tooth erosion in my upper front 4 teeth, the enamel has worn off on all of them. My self-confidence is shot, and I am very self-conscious about opening my mouth. Went to see an ortho yesterday to discuss cosmetic options, but he's talking about 10's of thousands of dollars to fix. However, the cosmetic appearance aside, he didn't say that my teeth represented an emergency situation, I think because the nerves had retracted far enough back to prevent pain.
So, while it looks like cosmetically I am sol, apparently, I can still go a while longer without complications. I've been using Xylitol for a couple of months and just ordered Dr. Jen's toothpaste after watching your videos. Do you think that combination can at least prevent further deterioration of my teeth? I'm really not in a position to receive dental implants, or even dentures at this time. Thank you in advance.
It depends on what is causing the erosion. You need to address that, and in addition to using xylitol and dr. Jen’s I think you could prevent further damage.

There could be several reasons for the erosion, including:
Night grinding, bite misalignment, acid reflux, etc. The doctors I've seen can't say conclusively.
My very front upper 2 teeth have eroded so far, that they don't even come in contact with my lowers when I bite now, so I'm hoping that will stop the erosion process, assuming that grinding and/or bite misalignment was the cause. Anyway, I'm going to give the toothpaste and xylitol a long term shot and hope for the best. I might have to go to Costa Rica for the cosmetic stuff later. Thank you again, you have an excellent channel, and you are sweet and beautiful as well.

What do you think about hydrated silica in David's toothpaste? I read recently that it actually scratches up your enamel?
It’s actually a common ingredient in most toothpastes. It’s what helps scrape off the plaque; the danger with hydrated silica is typically in whitening toothpastes, there’s more of it in order to help remove stain, hence the “whitening”, but yes it’s more abrasive
Have you tried periogen? I discovered it a few years ago and it’s 100% a life-changing product. It really does clean the teeth and gums and eliminate build up and gum inflammation. I use not even a quarter scoop in my water pik. SQUEAKY CLEAN…also do you worry that wearing trays all night will cause gums to recede since like with invisalign, gums tend to retreat from foreign material?
Sorry just seeing this now! I haven't tried periogen, will add to my list. in terms of gum recession from foreign material, it's actually metal that causes that, and it's not exactly gum recession that is caused. It's bone loss, which results in gum recession. This is why in some restorative procedures, they perform "crown lengthening" to actually remove some gum and bone to prevent irritation/infection from a metal filling being to close to the bone.

Ooh, unfortunately the good quality toothpastes aren’t exactly budget friendly…the budget friendly stuff is not as effective :/ I prefer Dr. Jen’s for efficacy; although my husband uses David’s brand and likes it. It didn’t work as well for me as did Dr. Jen’s 🤷♀️

Is safe enough to use daily? Does it help with gums aswell??
yes safe to use daily. if you brush correctly, it should also help with gums. depends on what exactly is going on with your gums. what do your gums need help with lol.
@@askahygienist well today i found out that from my tooth extraction i have an infected dry socket.. i have been given antibiotics but i cannot take them as antibiotics put me in hospital from the dehydration due to violent non stop vomiting.. so in short my time is now cut very short and its just a matter of time till i am no longer among the living as theres no way to cure the infection so nothing matters anymore :)
Where did you buy a retainer?
At the dentist lol. Came with my Invisalign treatment.

Thank you for this video :). I’m using Boka toothpaste right now. I’ve researched it, and found it only contains 2% hydroxyapatite. Can you still recommend it? I saw that you tried Dr. Jen’s toothpaste in another video. Can you recommend that? What toothpaste do you use? Thanks! :)
Boka was my first hydroxyapatite toothpaste and I didn’t see significant results, it took a whole year to see much difference. I think it has to do with the 2% concentration. I love dr. Jen’s, so far it’s my new favorite toothpaste.

@@colleenfleming8482 oh hmm. I get whatever I can on amazon out of convenience, but also on their website if needed. Crazy they're out on both sites! hopefully they'll have more soon..
The nano in nanohydroxyapatite refers to the size of the Hydroxyapatite particles and is short for nanometre - 1 billionth of a metre or 1 25,400,000th of an inch. Being so tiny, these Hydroxyapatite particles are able to do their good work deep within the tooth enamel. Meanwhile, nanoplastics are successful in their toxicity, and for the same reason, nanohydroxyapatite particles are good - because they are so tiny.
Great video! We are launching an all natural tooth powder that uses both kinds of hydroxyapatite. We source of nano from fluidnova. Just be careful where hydroxyapatite gets sourced from. With nano you want to make sure they are rod shaped particles, with aspect ratio less than 3. We decided to put 5% into our tooth powder as an optimal amount, very expensive ingredient to buy is my guess to why big brand toothpaste doesn't use it.The micro is organic grass fed bone derived hydroxyapatite that we also include 5% of. We believe a blend of these 2 could offer the best protection out there!
Hi there, where do you source your rod shaped nanohydroxyapetite? I’m having a hard time finding a good source and had bad results with the non rod-shaped type.

You dont actually recommend fluoride with all the studies showing ts harmful effects right?
No I do not; it’s hard for me as a hygienist who was taught all good things about fluoride to outright say “don’t use, it’s horrible” because yes, it does help reduce risk of cavities according to studies (although I am starting to have my concerns about even that..) but at this point I personally do not use fluoride and do not push it on others.
@@askahygienist k glad you don't use fluoride nor push it. All evidence I ever see is they promote something that's good, then you find out a decade later or so after many people used it ooopsies it causes cancer, it causes alzheimers etc.. It essentially matches the side effects listed on vaccines and pharmaceutical drugs. Would you agree? Like Drs used to recommend camel cigarettes oopsie it causes lung cancer. Plastic is great, it can be recycled, it's great for the environment.. Oopsie you can get atherosclerosis because of the micro plastics, and can't get rid of them in your body.. There are whole seas full of garbage dumps with plastic that kills tons of sea creatures etc, oopsie pcbs, etc. I wonder the same thing about hydroxyapatite..
Thank you for this great review. I've been using a fluoride toothpaste my whole life and I still get cavities no matter how attentive I am with brushing and flossing my teeth. I'm planning to switch to a hydroxyapatite toothpaste. I read thousands of good reviews about Davids, but I'd like to know what you think before I purchase it. Thank you in advance!
I personally felt I got better results with Dr. Jen’s, but my husband likes David’s!

By looking at the ingredients, all but 2 of David’s toothpastes seem to use nano-hydroxyapatite.
Yes good point, I didn’t realize that until I started looking into all the other types and flavors available. Since I was specifically looking for hydroxyapatite toothpaste, the others weren’t even on my radar.
It’s a shame that Boka and other toothpastes can’t actually restore tooth enamel 😱
The goal with hydroxyapatite is in fact to restore enamel on a microscopic level. I agree I didn’t see much results from Boka, but the concentration and particle size matters; I like Dr. Jen’s for their 10% nano-hap formula, and I do see results (less staining and notably less sensitivity)

I avoid nanotech products including this. Nano hydroxyapatite is not necessarily safe.
Same with toilet paper.
