Millennial here, but my mom loves Walter Hawkins. I listened to this song so much as a child; now, singing tenor in my church choir, I sing their part loud (and in tune)! I love the soloists’ energy. This song gets me through some tough days! “Hallelujah” is my favorite vamp.

It seems like Walter Hawkins had a choir and band full of people that are exceptionally talented in their own right. They all really get into it and make you feel the songs.

@Lawanda Scroggins I so wanted to sing like you when I was a teenager, you have an anointed voice. Although Pat & Dennis entrusted me to lead this song at Macedonia. (San Mateo) in the early 80s, I could never sing quite like you. You can't duplicate perfection!

I know I'm only 37, but my mom loves Walter Hawkins and I've always gravitated to this song. I also have diagnosed brain cancer. Stage 3. I have faith that God will keep me, but if He decides to take me home, I want this played at my homegoing. Especially the part where she sings "why should I wait? I'm gonna praise Him right now."
