Or you could come to South Africa. My 80 year old mother inlaw does not part from any of her dead tech and more. She has sh't from waaay back. We threw her broken washing machine and two broken microwaves away the other day while she went on a short trip. She has stuff she got from her grandparents who were born in the 1800s. 😂
amazing collection showing how far tech has come. i still remember how i used floppys then cds then zip drives and now cloud. still can believe how we all used to have phones that weighted as much as a brick
absolutely. but given the huge surge in foreign tourists...... i wonder if its only a matter of time before a foreigner breaks something and they have to change the rule?
As someone born in 2004, I live how a lot of these looked and I'm now missing features we no longer have as newer technology becomes thinner and more fragile to our detriment and useful features are removed to look "sleek" and "modern".
My grandmas house is full of landlines and older radios the first color tv, original paintings from black artists in 1960s and clothing from my ancestors that were slaves in the south and they all are in perfect condition she said that when she dies her house will be worth millions
@@caesar7734 yeah, I have 1 or 2 drawers of old phones from family and relatives. I’d like to erase data and trash them, but I’m tech dumb (also the chargers might have already been donated), so I guess I’m stuck with the e-waste.
@@TheAimlessWarman if you dont want it - take it to a trusted mobile phone shop and they will safely recycle it for you. I think they legally have to. Apple shops also have recycle their products. You don't need to keep them if you dont want to. To me it's not "e-waste" it's nostalgic i still have my old unique phones.
@@aurora6920 thank you, it sounds like a great idea (I assumed we had to use those drop boxes next to some recycle cans). I’m from bad neighborhood so “trust” is a big word, but I’ll keep your comment in mind. Much appreciated!
Marvelous Museum! I grew up when so many of these items hadn't been "invented" yet. No cell phones, only phone booths (quarters, nickels, and dimes) with the Yellow Pages. Having a second land line was the cutting edge. 😂
0:49 Top left floppy disk is the Quick Disk format, which was most notably used for Nintendo's add-on for the Famicom, the Disk System! Nintendo's version modified it to add Nintendo molding as a means of copy protection from standard Quick Disks.
I have one of those brownie cameras that belong to my mother and she was a kid back in the '60s. And I remember my first cell phone back in the mid-90s. And before that I worked at a radio station and we had a cell phone in the truck and it was this big huge box. You can pull it out and take it places but it was big and cumbersome
I once saw a few boys looking at an old typewriter that was on display at a party venue, in their reception area. They were aged around 10-14 and totally amazed at the weird looking thing with the alphabet on it. They could not figure out what it was, it represented a keyboard but where was the computer? I had a good laugh and felt very old at the same time. 😂
That’s so cool I actually have three of those old Kodak cameras shown the 8mm movie camera, the brownie holiday flash and the dualflex 3 I actually have 2 of each of those I named
My first phone was a giant, white police analog cellphone with a giant, thick attena 😂. I was so cool in my "80" Camaro and the windows rolled down on the phone ... 😂
THAT PURPLE PHONE ON THE COVER VIDEO. CHECK IT FOR EVIDENCE FOR A VITAL COURT CASE. PASS IT TO THE POLICE IF IT DOES HAVE SATA DATA. The white phone, purchase at Sao Paolo, Brazil. The transparent one, at Toronto, Canada.

Another reason why I want to go to Japan. It’s a very cool idea to have a museum filled with dead technology.
Right?!
Aren't most museums filled with ancient technology in one way or another 😅
Museums like this have exploring and old Panasonic telephones, ye :)
이와 같은 박물관에는 탐험용 전화기와 오래된 파나소닉 전화기가 있습니다 :)

Well, I was born in July 1986.
I still enjoy things from the past. 🤩
Not the brightest idea to be sharing your details on the internet bud.
Yeah I still have my old original nokia and pink mirrored flip phone 😆too nostalgic to get rid of it all
Now this is cool items that you don't see for sale anymore you can touch it feel it and feel nostalgic
This is the thing about Japan; they want to keep old technology as perfect, preserved, and pristine as possible.

The items are meant to be touched in this museum. This is badass
The allowed to touch rule can only work in Japan. 😂

Also look at the current quickest rising religion in Japan...

This is a win in more ways then one
We all know nokia 3310 can't go extinct. it's practically invincible
Yes but countries can certainly stop the network it runs on. No 1.5g phone runs in my country anymore
My dad loved gadgets and this museum looks a lot like his old junk drawer that mom never cleaned out!

Nice. Thank you for sharing.
Check out the computer history museum in Mountain View, CA.
Tech used to be so cool and diverse. Now we’re just staring at black pieces of glass 24/7
I want to go there!🤩
That's pretty cool!!!

These oldest telephones look very serene and explored.
이 가장 오래된 전화기들은 매우 고요하고 탐험적으로 보입니다.
I have old Motorola flip phone. Can I sell it as vintage?
We should have something like in other countries as well as a Banned Book Museum
Next time, I wanna see the techno flop museum that didn’t make it to the market
It's not extinct if it still turns on and works.

The iPhone will be on that wall someday
