Apparently when I was little (around 3 years old), my dad used to sing me this song to sleep every night and I couldn't sleep without it because it was my favourite song in the world. What I love is that this was originally released for the 96 tournament which was held in England, which we lost to the Germans in the semi finals on penalties. I'me old enough to remember Italia 90. It was the first tournament I watched. But going back to the song. Is it is amazing how this song is still Iconic 25 years after its release and sung by football fans. I changed it as I realised my mistake. 94 was the USA world cup, which England didn't qualify for sadly.

I remember I wore a England shirt in 1998 during World Cup while making connection flight in Zürich on my way to Romania and airport officials got me to strip search, but I watched the game when I was in Romania beat England, and I watched it surrounded with Romanians and I was only one wearing England shirt, certainly a experience :))

This just proves you have to be at your best to beat us, it shows that we can go toe to toe with the second best, which is an improvement because normally a subpar German team would beat us.
