I heard and read the VOLVO auto museum. I was like meh? Edit. Man, I'm glad I watched the video. The guy knows his cars and what an incredible example of a 70 442.
Well I'm a German Iron man but I have an attraction to the Olds. 5 years ago I bought a 65 Oldsmobile Jetstar 88 vert. in sad shape. Been welding the new panels in and finally got all the trim that was missing. Took 4 years to locate all the pieces. Rare car hope to finish soon. Thanks for sharing your wonderful car, hope you find the right buyer.
I bought a new F-85 W-31 in 1970. It was Sherwood green with black stripes and hood scoops. It had bench seat with a 4 speed transmission. I had the dealer order and install a fin. I put walker glass pack mufflers on it and boy did she sound good. She ran great as I bested some of the better known muscle cars of that era. What I wouldn’t give to have her now. Looking at this 442 W-30 in Sherwood green sure brought back memories.
Wonderful Olds!!! Perfect color combinations. ... and a real 442 /W30.!!! Absolutely pristine and gorgeous, a real rare Beauty!! WOW 👍👍👌😎 Thanks for showing and Greetings from Austria 🇦🇹👌👍😎
1970 Oldsmobiles are one of my favorite cars. I had a 1970 W31 back in the day. Actually owned it 3 times and sold it again 5 years ago.. But never know I might purchase it back again... I would so love to purchase this car.... But Jay for an "Olds Guy" it is four four two....Never say four forty two that's what the general non car people call them LOL...
Hey Jay, this car is awesome. I know this is old but I have an observation. The right bright headlight was out. Would you fix these things before you show the car like this? When you first started it we had the rear view, and the left inner brake light went out... just an fyi. Thanks
I have been thinking about a 1970 Judge, but this Sherwood green 442 is just the cat's meow. Investment grade, like this, is what I would really prefer. Not just a car guy, but a numbers guy also. $$$$
@@VoloMuseumAutoSales it's not a sequential number system. Originally it stood for 4 barrel, 4 speed and dual exhaust. I own a documented '70 W-30 4 speed with a real W-27 and a loaded '70 4-4-2. Real Oldsmobile people cringe at fourfortytwo.
@@detr0it442 A real W-27 rear end, Not just the cover? I've never seen that rare bird in person. It makes me laugh at how many 442's we see today with the rear deck spoiler, They dominate the auctions but the reality is they're all repros as are the W-27 rear end covers. The original W-27's were mostly ordered on Vista Cruisers whose owners planned to haul boats and trailors and wanted the extra capacity of gear oil and aluminum housing for cooling.
Early on it would regularly throw you off balance. We've gotten adjusted to it now for the most part. Only if you don't realize you're stepping from one to the other can it catch you off guard now.
When Jay does 13mins you know it's serious !😂 As a limey, until you pointed out the Oldsmobile was the cheapest car , l would have said the Chevelle was the cheaper alternative . l know which one l prefer ! When you do your intro Jay. You always say "We have hundreds of collectors and the're all for sale " Does that include the Duesenburgs ? I guess everything has it's price !! ( but probably not !) Well , it is a top drawer car and it is top drawer money but as you point out , only a trailer queen will match this Green Goddess! Thanks Jay.
Robin stole this 442 from a rich tycoon but decided not to give it to a poor man and instead he can be seen cruising on Saturday nights in Sherwood City.
@@geraldboykin6159 yep and those cars had a 'character' that none of the newer ones do, some may have a similar retro-look and all but the W30's or 'Cuda's, GTO's and Chevelles are in a league of their own

Jay, two words describe this factory modified drag car;
BALLISTIC MISSILE ~

Many thanks as always Stefan! 👍
Had a 72 Olds Cutlass and loved it.
Jay must really love this car. A nearly 13 minute video is unheard of from Mr. Jay.
Not wrong! 😎👍
Beautiful car I love the olds 442W30
That’s a cool high option car. The rear window defroster is very rare. The Sentinel option is cool too.
No power windows or door locks or power seat (driver side)...most likely did not have remote trunk release either ...car is still beautiful!!
Also did not see cruise control either ....,my '72 olds had cruise control...
Keith Brown why would someone order sentinel and rear window defroster but not power windows. Pretty unusual car.
The car is obviously well appointed with several factory options (rare).... just not All options!!

tums upp for that car i love it
Glad to hear!
I likes me an Oldsmobile! 442, what a beauty!
The chrome around the fender housing confirms quality in the making!
Those 4-4-2 have the most beautiful sound when its idling.
You and Jay agree! 😎
Beautiful
Thank you! Cheers!

my dad was born on 1970 and he had this for his first car

1960's & 1970's auto engineers were chrome masters!
This is a Gentelman’ GT. Chevelle is a hooligan
Yes, I used to call Olsmobile 442, a “gentleman’s racer!”
Beautiful car but you are no Oldsmobile guy, it’s not four forty two, it’s 4-4-2.....

The driver’s side high beam and the inside light of the driver’s side taillight are both out.

Jay is that green olds 442 sold yet
It looks like we took a deposit on the 5th. And there is one backup buyer that also expressed interest.
Knew an Irishman in high school that had one of these babies, but nowhere near as attractive as this Hot Rod‼️🍀☘️🇮🇪🇺🇸🇮🇪👍👍😊😎
75 000 price? Love those w-30s! 350 or 455 ?
W-30 was 455.
You're looking at approx 190k - 200k
Could not afford a Chevelle but could afford a 442 Olds W-30 ? OK..
Yep
Not easy being Green.
The Olds Cutlass , was a way more prettier car , even though it was out sold , by the Chevelle !!!!
Is that a factory stock cam ?
🤔
It is a 4 4 2 not 4 40 2
Looks perfect, except needs the rally 3 wheels (painted inserts)
