      Donavan Barrett I’m zero flexible n I’ll try this! I’ll update you for the results! Hopefully I achieve my goals otherwise I’ll drop Teakwondo 😭

      Sadaf Raheel don’t give up. We have a lot of people in our school with limited flexibility due to age, injury, or just being out of shape. Do what you can do, compete only with yourself, and focus on what you can do instead of what you can’t. I’ve only been studying for about six months and I’m just now starting to gain more flexibility. I don’t ever expect to be as flexible as the younger students. I’ll just work on continually improving myself and accomplishing everything I can.

      This is perfect Mr. Barrett. No wasted time, straight to the point. Exactly the kind of thing I can use during my morning workout in my tiny personal dojo. I will be seeing your beautiful face at the start of my workouts going forward.

    I absolutely love this follow along format - makes it so much easier to listen to, can put my own music over the top etc - and if I replay it daily I won't get tired / annoyed!! Thank you as well for making this more accessible to people at whatever stage in their flexibility journey! Keep the follow alongs coming - really great video :D

    I really love that routine! I've been doing that almost every day for less than a month, and i already see improvements. After over a year of stubornly doing only straddle and folded leg stretches this is a blessing. Thanks Donavan!

    This is a great stretching routine, we all know most of the stretchen but the way they are compiled hits most of the hip flexors and other parts of the hip area.
    I just found this video and i am pushing to do it daily. Even though this is the most know type of stretching ( static), it works great. FYI, the other two i know is bouncing and pre tense. Thans Donavan.

    excellent follow-along video. Agreed, sometimes, esp during stretching, i don't like the voiceover, unless it's to explain the technique. It's a great format for intermediate/advanced martial artists, as we already know what to do. Making a vid for beginners with voiceover explanation about what they should be doing, where they should be feeling the stretch as well as modified versions for those less flexible would be great. Great stuff!

    I like the follow along format. Maybe add how long you normally do for each side, and if you do more than one set each side.

    • @donavantkd
      @donavantkd  5 лет назад +1

      My philosophy is to not hold for a certain period of time. I think you should listen to your body and adjust the timing based on what you're trying to achieve. If you're warming up, don't hold as long or you'll feel noodly. If you're really going after flexibility, hold for 30 seconds, 1 minute, 5 minutes. It depends on skill level and goals!

    I think it’s great! Keep em coming!
    Maybe make a stretch series for trouble zones(?)
    Play with more noises too! Maybe instead of the sword sling noise. It could be you saying something like “ey” or “work it” or “hustle gurl” or something.
    Thanks I love your work.

    Great routine! Would I would like to see is how, someone as inflexible as Me, can approach loosening up. Are there any tricks that I can use to get my groin area to relax? Thank You! Keep up the amazing inspirational work! Hope you having a fantastic holiday!

    • @donavantkd
      @donavantkd  5 лет назад +1

      A lot of it is most likely mental. People really tense up when working inner groin because it feels like soething is going to snap. Take deep breaths and relax and you may begin to see more progress.
