    If you have any doubts: this is not a training session. It's an admission test for fighting contract. Once a candidate wins the ticket, he'd be trained by the same trainers with utmost respect and care.

    All the people saying this is borderline abuse clearly didn't train anything. It's training by punishment, if you let your guard down you get punched in the face just as in a real fight. You have to breathe out when hitting and kicking otherwise when you get counter-punched in the stomach it hurts. It's just as, if not more efficient than "normal" training, these people knew what they were signing up for

    I was there, 3 Weeks. Very hard training, and in Thailand the Trainers have 2 differences :
    Nr 1) The Trainers/Padholders attack back!, very hard! U dont have that alot in western Muay Thai Training.
    Nr 2) If you lay on the floor, and u dont stand up, you get beat up EVEN MORE! Dont lay on the floor! Always stand up, no matter how much it hurts. U get beat MORE if u dont.

      The follow up on a falling fighter is a well known and permitted practice in muay thai and continues until the referee breaks it. In thai it is referred to "water runs downhill". And it is a consequence of the mindset that the fight continues as long as the referee allows it. You'll see it being taught and practiced in clinch training and sparring.

    lmao back then the training for the thais are harder than what you see here.
    Namsaknoi "the emperor" had his shoulder dislocated by his pad trainer when he was 14 or so. His teammate was sentenced to doing left kicks on a bag without sleep after losing a fight. Heard Khaosai galaxy trained incredibly hard. Wouldn't be surprised if the Galaxy brothers trained even harder than Namsaknoi. The galaxy brothers were considered hard working in an era where everyone was training borderline military style.
    The old lumpinee used to have a sign saying don't punish your fighters here. Back then they really were extremely extremely tough on their fighters. Nowadays, that treatment and training wouldn't really fly anywhere. What you see here is a toned down version of the training given to older thai fighters from a young age.
    Everyone here wants to be a professional top level fighter. If the training is easy, how would they see who to pick? There is only 32 hungry professional fighters fighting for a few sponsorship.

    This how I learnt in boxing mines the kicks. After a few weeks of doing pads like this they couldn’t land a on me. You’re punches gets shaper and you can see every punches coming. It looks brutal but it’s the quickest way to learn your attack and defence at the same time.

    The majority of these people have fights on their records. The tryout is for sponsorship. That way they don't have to work and train and fight. The regular training isn't like this.

    It's standard pad work, your only allowed to hit the pads and randomly the pad man will throw shots. It's Upto you to block them, the people know the rules of the session before it starts. You have to stay switched on until the bell calls time

    Fun series guys you are all very strong!

    • @IrvinLep
      @IrvinLep 6 лет назад +8

      Keyboard warrior, you can't do it with your trainer. They hold the pads: if they ask for a left high kick, they know you are open for a sweep on your right leg and will do it. If the call for a 1-2 they know you are open to a front kick and so on

      It would totally be fine if it didn't look like the trainers were trying to break their legs. It's pretty clever training. Showing them that they'll get struck back when they strike. Which makes some people MAd and lose focus.

    • @VintxgeAmor
      @VintxgeAmor 6 лет назад +11

      MVRTS If you’re not a fighter you won’t understand. If you can’t handle been roughed up a bit, you most certainly can’t fight in Muay Thai fights. They don’t want quitters, they want real fighters that can take punishment without breaking physically and mentally.

      It's not sparring class. They actually do have sparring days where they look for candidates with the best technique. This day was obviously to see if they were mentally tough.
