So the solution you are searching for is program called "dxwnd". It fixes problems both with resolution and lags/bad performance. I have no-steam version (pure rarity now btw :) but it works with steam aswell. Search a little on the google and you should find it out! Enjoy this masterpiece

This game was my beloved one as a small kid... Hearing this music gives me tears, so many great memories, I love it so much... One day I will show my kids and grandchildren what I uses to play when was as little as them :) screen with Sherwood hideout is magical, like a real place where I spend hours, and did never regret any of those. Absolute masterpiece :,)
I spent hours and hours playin it on that big fat old computer gosh memories . Believe me i still have that computer because if this game and i still playin it ince per month or more

This game is aging like fine wine. I am still playing it and i am 60. The music, the setting, the way the cities and forest look like, the grumpy sergeants make me laugh. When i bought it back when you could still buy CD's and didn't need online connection to play, i was a bit cautious because it resembled Commandos series. But it does have it's own personality and i have enjoyed it more and more with each new playthrough. Recommend it to kids and adults alike !!

This studio (Spellbound) was one of the best for PC games at that time including Desperados. Moreover, they were germans, never expected that. Gratitude.

This music brings be back to my childhood. Wow, I must have played this game about 20 years ago. This was the first game that I fully completed (did all missions and found all the hidden trophies and even got the party at the very end of the game). I had printouts and instructions from a PC gaming magazine that had tips for all major missions and where I could find the trophies. Good times!

I played this game 15 years ago as a kid but never completed it. Now Ive finally finished it. But it doesnt feel good. Ive grown to love the characters and overall environment this game provides through its setting and soundtrack. But it sucks that there is no sequel. I want to see more of these characters, I wish there was no end to this game. The feelings this game gives me is amazing.

One of my most favourite RTS games, I have played it atleast 5-6 times, and now that nostalgia has brought me back to it, I bought it on Steam and will play it again now!!!

still one of the best games ever made, story, characters, writing, voice acting, beautiful per-rendered isometric landscapes, immersion of the weather and day/night system, the side missions doing raids, collecting companions and leveling them up, stealth missions in cities where you legitimately have to plan escapes around realistic guard patrols and AI responses..

I completed this game today and I cried my eyes out. I dont know why it was such a big deal to me and I dont know what magic this game had, but now I feel very empty and sad inside. I want to see more of robin, marian, stutely, and others in a tactical rts style game.

I remember it playing when I was 6, 15 years ago. It's like it was yesterday with this music. If i got alzheimer just play this soundtracks and I will remember everything lol.
This showed up in my recommended videos, and I hadn't even heard of the game, but the soundtrack is really good! I love the graphics too, you can tell the game is 20 years old but it's still beautiful.
I can't see myself playing it now, but I'm sure that if I had discovered this as a kid, I would have absolutely loved it.

Hi. This will be the case for both steam and cracked versions. It's an issue with the most recent windows systems if i remember well. There are some guides on yt that show how to solve it by downloading DxWnd, it's really not hard to do.
GOG version works and with a mod you can play it with your screen resolution
