    The whole soundtrack from Alundra (1997) for the original Playstation.
    Alundra (アランドラ Arandora), released in Europe as The Adventures of Alundra, is an action-adventure/action role-playing video game developed by Matrix Software for the Sony PlayStation, originally released in 1997. It was re-released for the PlayStation Network in 2010.
    The game's protagonist is a young man named Alundra, who learns that he has the power to enter people's dreams. He is shipwrecked on an island, near the village of Inoa, where locals have been suffering from recurring nightmares that sometimes cause death. With his dream walking ability, Alundra proceeds to try to help the locals. The narrative becomes gradually darker and more twisted as the game progresses, dealing with mature themes such as death, clinical depression, fate, religion, and the essence of human existence.
    The gameplay involves extensive exploration of the island and various dungeons, with an emphasis on challenging puzzle solving, real-time action combat, and platforming, as well as interaction with non-player characters in the village of Inoa. The main gameplay innovation is a dream walking mechanic, where Alundra can enter people's dreams, with each of the dream levels having its own unique twist based upon the dreamer’s personality and traits.
    Upon release, Alundra earned unanimous critical acclaim as well as some initial commercial success. It was praised for its well-written story and characterization, smooth game mechanics and platforming, challenging gameplay and puzzles, and expansive overworld exploration. A sequel entitled Alundra 2: A New Legend Begins, which has very little in common with the original Alundra, was released in 1999.

      +Xavier H I believe the intro music was something added by Working Designs when they localized the game, so it wouldn't be included on the Japanese Soundtrack. It's also why some of the names ("Ra," instead of "Lars," "Taran" instead of "Tarn," etc) don't exactly match up with the names we see in-game. Similarly, the animated intro movie was also added in by Working Designs as it's actually just a bunch of stuff from the ending movie (at a lower framerate to save disc space) set to the new music. They talk about it in the manual, and it's actually an interesting read. Sorry to respond to a three month old comment. :P

    I played this game in 1998 and I was a teenager going to school and wanting to go back home to play this game. I spent so much time finishing some levels, they were pretty crazy, out of logic sometime, but I enjoyed the weirdness of the puzzles and gameplay. I feel very nostalgic listening to this music and I can remember all of it. When you finished the game, you had the chance to hear all of the music by entering in a house of the village that had all the collection of the ost. Unforgettable. I also created a comic out of Alundra. I just loved this game and I felt myself a dream walker.

    People calling this a "zelda clone", seriously, rpgs about fantasy lands already existed before Zelda, just because that game got popular doesn't mean this is a "clone" the story is unique, Zelda is a typical "go save the princess" story, safe for kids, Alundra story is fucked up, the enemies are fucked up, the puzzles are joystickillers, you are not able to save everyone, you cant trust anyone, that ending with the survivors praying at the church for Alundra while he goes berzerk against Lars was epic, and im still in love with Meia

    I just got to know this game in 2013. I don't know, how I missed it until this, but it's excellent! Great soundtrack, good gameplay (sometimes little bit frustrating, but nevermind) and great story. I love it! (I didn't finish it yet)
    Thanks for uploading the soundtrack!

    The Fire mountain Torla track is underrated. It loops so well and makes me think of dark Rugrats.

    I love Alundra. What I like is the fact it has elements of The Legend of Zelda and A Nightmare on Elm Street.

    Same story here. I finished the game 2 years ago because I was not smart enough to finish that as a kid. It was great years spent with Alundra. Not talking about all the new stuff I found when I played this time. Casino and all the other "easter eggs" are just awesome. Love this game sooooo much

    Why couldn’t they make Alundra 2 similar to part 1. Gosh will we ever see alundra again? I can imagine a whole trilogy for a movie. With puzzles and adventure and unlocking powers

    One thing I have to admit... I never finished this game. I remember trying hard to, but I lost track of where I was supposed to go and what I should have been doing. I think I got stuck at a puzzle?
    Clearly, this game is a Zelda game for adults. I wonder if I'd be able to finish it now that I'm older.

    absolutly loved this game to bits, i remember reading though the manul on way home from shop and before even starting it i was hooked, the puzzls can be tough but its a great sence of satisfaction when you do finish one. ALOT of times i left the game and came back to it later (im looking at you lars crypt noted down every combination for that untill i got it) and the gamble gilded falcon was the bane of my childhood, i need to play this game again haha

    I was so proud of my self when I finally finished this game. I used the text only guidebook at was widely available back then, which made things kind of interesting. it's a shame that the last gilded falcon was only achievable through chance.

    Good stuff. I have the game myself and got stuck on a boss and have noway of getting past it. It was pretty hard game but awesome game graphics too. Music was very memorable especially The Wind that Shook the Earth was really cool.

      @FreshPaprikaz  8 лет назад +1

      +nobeac Aw, that sucks :( Which boss you got stuck on?
      My favorite is either The Wind that Shook the Earth (awesome title as well) or Village of Inoa. Kline's Nightmare is awesome too.

    • @nobeac
      @nobeac 8 лет назад

      I don't remember it was so long ago I believe the 3rd dungeon where you have to avoid a bunch of things and figure out a certain puzzle regarding the earth or planets if I remember correctly?

    • @Triggerhappytel
      @Triggerhappytel 8 лет назад

      +nobeac If it's the puzzle I'm thinking of, you have to stack icons for the earth, moon, stars etc in the correct order. Took me a while to work out as well (think I eventually solved it at random).

    I had no idea the title screen theme was so long :)
    But is not the theme during the intro featured on the OST?

    • @FreshPaprikaz
      @FreshPaprikaz  4 года назад

      No, the official OST doesn’t include the intro track. Psygnosis (the US/EU publisher) added that themselves. The Japanese version just played the Opening Theme that also plays on the title screen.

      @mjolnir_swe 4 года назад

      @@FreshPaprikaz I see, thanks for the reply. They did a good job though, that theme really suited what happened on the screen.
