this is from Wilbur's latest lore stream. loved the stream! c!wilbur is very interesting and I love animating him. :)
I think he definitely knows he has to apologize to c!tommy, but that c!philza's "you need to let them go" might have spooked him a bit.

To be honest, Wilbur knows deep down the person he owes the biggest apology to is Tommy. From the start tommy always stuck with him, no matter the consequences. Even when Tommy realized wilbur was losing it he still cared about him. Wilbur is avoiding the apology to tommy because be knows that it will be the hardest one to do, and he’s scared Tommy won’t stay by his side. I think that Tommy is going to start realizing more and more that Wilbur is avoiding that apology that tommy wants so bad, and when he does i think or at least i hope tommy will finally snap.

but i think its not mainly because how much cWil just sorta danced around the apology
remember when cWilbur just got revive he apologize to cTubbo and like the whole thing was quick, snappy, and cWilbur sounded so sure that he WILL be forgiven.
this however, felt awkward and cWilbur wasnt looking for any forgiveness at all.
The man picked techno as the first one to go to! From what i notice, cTechno is LEAST affected by cWilbur's action. our man wanted to f-ck the government and cWilbur didnt really directly hurt him in any big way. ig he sorta made more government but cTechno wasnt scarred by it. unlike cTubbo, or the elephant in the room cTommy who, from cWilbur's action traumatized them in many ways

Tommy obviously wanting an apology and expecting it at multiple times but forced to keep up his persona (canon wise) is really sad and telling for him. He wants to ask people to do things or treat him better but when they don't do it on their own he wants people to believe he wasn't expecting anything. so sad :( it also really shows how much he admires wilbur even though hes done so much and wants to seem strong around him and like he doesnt need anything (at the end)
I think that Wilbur doesn't want to apologize to Tommy because he thinks he wiuld have to leave Tommy be, but since Tommy is, like, the only person to stay by Wilburs side all this time, they went through so much together... Maybe Wilburs afraid of losing the only close friend of his that have stayed by his side since the beggining until now. Wilbur knows he did lots of bads to Tommy, but since Tommy haven't snapped at him or left him yet, he may thinks it's better to hold Tommy close to him.
Idk, it's just my theory.(Also, sorry if I wrote something wrong. You can say and correct me.)
I feel that Tommy does not want to appear weak, since that way he seems an easier target, although it is difficult for him to admit it, we know that Tommy only wants everything to stop.

@@noax.drawings I think I get what you're saying. Wilbur never admitted doing anything wrong to Tommy- so if he apologizes, it's like hes admitting that hes been treating Tommy poorly. I guess he thinks if he admits he was wrong, Tommy will stop looking up to him, or will leave him because the apology made him realize how shitty Wil has been. Wilbur doesn't realize that Tommy has already stopped thinking he was perfect, and won't leave because he knows Wilbur wont leave him. And maybe that's why Tommy is trying to be like the old Tommy. He doesn't want Wilbur to leave either. I love this duo, the dynamic is so heartbreaking.

The way you emphasized Wilbur dancing around an apology to Tommy was incredible. Like it was obvious in the stream but you made it hit even harder. I love how much character you’re able to portray in them too based on body language, expression and such :D

this stream pissed me off so much. like all the subliminal hints of will needing to apologise to tommy the most and then not realising it killed me!!! this was an amazing animatic, beautifully done.

And I liked it just for that, it makes the story more intriguing

You guys gotta read deeper into this stream. The entire thing was foreshadowing for the next few people who c!Wilbur is going to apologize to. He's going to apologize to c!Tommy eventually, he's just putting it off because to him, the apologies are more or less a final good-bye. And the last thing he wants to do is say goodbye to the only person who has stayed by his side through all his bs. He's clingy ™
He might think Tommy won't forgive him. The fear of giving someone the opportunity to say no, to say that they don't forgive what you did is big. It's terrifying to even think about the truth being said out loud that it stops you from even giving them the chance to maybe say the opposite. H
Or maybe he might not think he deserves Tommy's forgiveness, so he won't give the window for Tommy to say he does.

In all seriousness though you're probably right. He's already having to come to terms with the fact that everyone who he apologizes to might not be ready or willing to forgive him. And for that to even be in the realm of possibility with Tommy is what's stopping him right now.

Also oh my god, the way you drew Tommy's facial expressions basically showing that he was listening the entire time implying that he is very aware of the conversation, instead of being oblivious, but still doesn't say anything, and just acts as if everythings fine- just wow. It makes it hurt more than it already iS.

The delivery of the “Tommy…” is the BIGGEST jabait, and it STILL got me the second time he said it
I really feel the only reason Wilbur doesn’t apologise to Tommy is that it will mean that Tommy can move on and doesn’t need to be with Wilbur anymore, that is what Wilbur believes, so Tommy will be the last person Wilbur apologises to.
I don’t know about the whole friend business tho, that part was sus to me, but it may be another way to keep Tommy talking to Wilbur for the time being.
Wilbur needs Tommy, but Tommy doesn’t actually need Wilbur, Tommy doesn’t fully understand that yet.

Great job on showing how Tommy and even Phil hinted Wilbur to apologize to Tommy but Wilbur never did. Tommy's expressions of disappointment at 1:33 was a wonderful touch. Love the compositions and posing as well, really feels like an animatic for a cartoon.

But Wilbur NEEDS to apologize to Tommy and he knows that he is just so scared he hurt the person who mattered the most when he went insane scared he won't be forgiven
They need to open up to eachother to find happiness in their brotherly relationship, that's how the story should progress
I'm sure they'll dig a little deeper into that
i think phil knows wilbur has to apologize to a lot of people including/especially tommy but he's trying let will figure it out on his own without pushing him too much
