Hi mate, it's sad that you haven't got the time to finish all you want to do plus the bits and pieces that are missing ( like the sliders) and scubis hope that the seals stay straight 😅 Which ya a good Easter trip!! Cheers mate 🤙🏻 🤙🏻
Great video mate, Those shocks seems like good value as well, we are running king2.5 cost a fair bit and still finding it a little hard to justify the cost, they ride well off-road but on road there still harsh in my opinion for there cost. I guess this is where triple bypass shocks really shine as you can tune different travel sections Look forward to seeing your Easter trip vid Cheers
They seem to be good quality for the price. I’ll have more of an opinion once I use them a bit! Sounds like you need to change some valving! Having the triple bypass is awesome for adjustability, I’m looking forward to having an actual play with them! Cheers
Shouldn’t make a difference as they only bag out on the bottom with weight on them. But will be checking it all again when the correct shock is in there! Thanks mate
Love the vids mate! What sorta money do engineers charge to cert something like like this? I've got an old ln106 and I've been seriously considering installing front coilovers with either a gu or 80 series diff and a rear 4 link coil set. I can price up all the parts easy enough and should be able to weld and install it all, just got no idea about the legality/certification side of things! Hope the easter trip went well, and I'm looking forward to seeing some footage!
Thanks mate. It depends on so many things. Best bet is to speak to an engineer well before you start doing any work, that way you do it exactly how they want to! I don’t want to spread information that could potentially be wrong. Cheers
@@DanielKistler yea that's fair enough! O well, I've decided I'll keep the lux for quite a while anyway so I guess it will be worth it in the long. First step is 5l 3.0liter rebuild with boost comped pump and turbo setup. Then it may have close to half the power of yours haha.
@@DanielKistler haha nope! Right now it's pretty well stock, and has been for years. But I'm that will start changing now. It's been some good motivation seeing your stuff too! Not sure if I should try film some stuff like you aswell, seems like a lot of extra work but clearly a lot of people appreciate it!
@@bennyjahmin3953 yeah I have seen a few people make them. The front would be a bit tricky having to go around the steering box but I’ll see what happens. Not sure why the link gets removed, maybe RUclips doesn’t allow it?!
I used 1/2" plate and got someone with a big fn press to bend it. If you got to the patrol4x4 forum and under the DIY section is up there with some photos. Biggest pain is cutting out the drop in the xmember and patching it up. Be way easier to cut it out all together and weld in a straight pipe.
Hey mate love the setup. Been thinking about 2.5 triple bypass vs 2.5 coilover setup on my 105 landcruiser. Ive put an LSA in her so i like to go fast. In the desert. Wondering your experience with the triple bypass to date ? Worth it ? hows the adjustability on the fly ? regret not going coilovers ? If the car is used as a dual purpose rig for touring as well, would they still be suitable ? Thanks mate
Hey mate, I Havnt driven my car since Easter and I’m still waiting for the other bypass shock so I can’t give you a heap of info on that. But the adjustability is easy and effective aswell. I wouldn’t go coilovers in my wagon because then I would have to cut the whole coil hat off and would probably struggle a bit to them inside the inner guard. This car is a touring car and it works well. Thanks
Mate just awesome you do all your own work! 🤘 Seriously impressive!
Hope the easter trip was awesome 🤙
Thanks mate! It’s the best way to learn! Cheers!
Bloody ripper of a video mate 👍🏼 keen to see some driving stuff
Thanks mate. Will have a trip video next week.

It should be all done in the next month or so I’d think! Well hopefully haha! Cheers mate
Nice work mate! I do have to wonder about engineering with all this.
You've been going hard mate, hope it was rewarded over Easter!
Thanks mate. Been in touch with the engineer throughout everything and they are happy.
It certainly was rewarded, Easter was so good! Cheers
some awesome work Daniel, those are serious shocks, should be interesting on the tracks
Thanks mate! Will be good to get all the suspension in and sort it all out. Cheers

What about when your tires are let down will there still be clearance shock to tire ?, your work is good mate bullbar sides.

Nice, 4 link full swing arm rear end next please.
Haha that’s not going to happen!
Yeah I get it. When does it stop. Nice fab work tho. 👍

Time for a torsion swaybar
Would put one in the front if they weren’t so expensive
I made one from a for courier torsion bar. Less than $200 all up.
Seems if i post the link to the thread on the patrol forum it gets removed?

The length of the courier torsion bar means you only need about a 40mm kick in the arm to get around the steering box.
