Movers always told us to stuff drawers with pillows or bath towels, etc so that the drawers wouldn’t open during the move. Clean sheets, blankets and pillows for your bed in your dresser drawers makes them right where you need them first thing.
I take photos as I go, then email them to myself. When packing a box, I take photos & make a list of the contents. A list goes inside the box, outside the box, & in my moving binder, with the box # on it. When taking apart electronics, I take photos of each step & email them to myself.
Great video, just a little tip pack a suitcase for you and your husband with clothes, wash kit and things you will need when you get to your new home 🏡❤️🇬🇧
Here’s a tip, I used. LEAF BAGS. 5 FOR $3:00. I packed my pillows, bedding, towels, Plastic containers. Anything that wont break. AFTER. Re use for your yard waste
I've been watching a ton of videos and this is the first time I've heard about the open first box! Definitely doing it for each room! I am so so so so so grateful that I watched this and learn to do this for my next move in May. Thank you so much for this video XOXO
Great tips! Thank you. I almost spent $ on colored labels for different rooms but then I remembered I had different colored printing paper. Thanks to instant ink I spent $11.00 printing out all the necessary labels (over 500 )and then just taped them to all four faces of the boxes.
Although labeling boxes for the different rooms such a great tip to identify what is in the boxes. Brilliant idea to have an essential bin!! That’s why I’m hear for all the best tips ever that make my life easier. Thanks Sophie!!
Chick-fil-A french fry boxes are almost exactly the size of the ones labeled "small" at a moving store. You can get about half a dozen at a time, if you go just before 2pm, after the lunch rush but before they get around to tearing them down.
Truly one of the best videos I have ever watched on "moving tips"!! You should make a link in your description box for easy access on this one. Anyone getting ready to move should watch and take notes. So looking forward to all your future videos! What an exciting time with a beautiful new home and a sweet baby on the way. God Bless❤
I was totally a crazy person with an excel spreadsheet! Not sure now that I have a baby that I would be able to go that crazy in the future if/when we move but it was so helpful even with labeling the boxes i was able to get more specific. Love the open first idea though! I would definitely do that in the future!
This was a great video that I am sure will help people who are moving. Just forwarded to my daughter-in-law who is getting ready to move very soon. Thank you for your very thought out video.🌸
Two years ago, started saving Blue Apron boxes. They are small and sturdy. Bought garment boxes from UHaul as well as heavy duty boxes from Home Depot for husband's tools. Have a collection of LPs, but no modern box fits them, short by a half inch on each side. Struggling with boxes for paintings and artwork. We ordered four UPack Relocubes in April. Moving from California to Florida. Thanks for your video.
I really like the "Open First" label idea for each room's essentials. Don't want to have to open everything at once and make a mess, just to get the certain items you really need. This could also help you declutter even more at the new place!
I don't even plan on moving for another year or two, but you had a few great tips that I just couldn't help but take notes on, so thanks and good luck!

Yeah - that's one thing I did - filled any dressers or cabinets up and taped them shut.
Really good idea!
This is genius
I haven’t ever thought of the last things packed will likely be the first things you’ll need... but so TRUE! Great tip
Glad it was helpful!
Also loved this

Wow what a compliment, thanks Linda!
Sometimes boxes from retail stores depends on delivery days - most places have their own compactors.
Great point!

Use clear trash bash not the black ones
