great video.i love this series and they are my favorite couple.i lost count of the times i ve seen little house on the prairie in my life.is my favorite time series.a wonderful classic.
I remember being 11 or 12 watching these episodes back when they aired live on NBC (Monday nights at 8:00!) and having such a huge crush on Dean Butler.
Found it, it's called Quiet Storm, an original work from FreePlayMusic I guess. The melancholic/nostalgic feeling the song gives fits into Little House's theme perfectly. Its Uplifting, like thinking of your childhood and yet sad, because those times are gone.
Well I got my almanzo i got married almost three years ago to the most wonderful man in the world even though in my religion dating is forbidden we got married the day after we met and to this day I am one happy woman to have married my husband. I will always love my husband forever and ever.
they first meet (in the books) when Laura and Carrie are lost in the big slough and wind up in his hay field and he points them home while standing on an enormous load of hay. he proposes to her on a buggy ride in between the lakes.
The title is right : it is Romance especially in the series because it was quite different for real Laura and Almanzo in true life..Their love wasn't as romantic and they had good times but bad times too and they didn't kiss all the time lol!
***** Yes ..lol! I just wanted to say that this episode is like a honeymoon..Everything is perfect, life is beautiful and Laura is walking on a pink cloud surrounded by flowers..I read the novels and if Laura and Almanzo loved each other they actually spent a lot of time together before they got engaged and Almanzo was very in love with Laura first but it wasn't the same for Laura..And she hesitated when he talked to her about the farmer's life and the loan he wanted to do ..it is written in the book "The adventurous life of Laura ingalls wilder"..just to say..
Frenchie séverine I read the books 5 years ago and what I remember is that Laura wrote about her marriage years in only one book. And that the first years were hard (bad harvest). But when it was really Almanzo who was very in love with Laura, then the film team changed the story. Probably the thought it would be funnier vice versa. And it was! I remember that when Almanzo was introduced to Laura, his sister spoke a bit unclear and Laura didn't get the short form right. She said then "Goodbye, Manly!" instead of "Mandy" ;-) But what I never understood was that they changed Mary's loss of sight story. In the book Laura only said Mary had diphtheria and then was blind. But in the series they made a complicated story, that I never understood. First Mary wore glasses and then she lost more and more sight as far as I remember. A kind of fate or genetic disease? I never understood that although I watched the series several times.
I do because dean butler and missy Gilbert had nearly the same chemistry on screen as the real couple... Almanzo knew he had the woman of his dreams but Laura needed serious time to come to the same realization. She was freaked out and unsure for a long time, but he had god given patience... He won her hand for life...
@littlemizbecca That is "The Werewolf of Walnut Grove" where Bart Slater comes to town and causes so much trouble in the school, Miss Wilder plans to leave, until Laura rallies all the kids together to convince Bart to behave himself.
