I am living alone and today I tried this recipe have to say it turned out really well just how like my mother makes it, though she doesn't add the amchur or the chat masala I would say it would be complete optional for anyone who is making. if you like more rich and burstring flavours then adding the amchur would be good, otherwise without chat masala it would be soothing and simple flavour

If you are an Indian Bengali, neither it's cut so grossly nor cooked in this fashion 😅 Bengali cuisine is a fine art, starting from cutting itself....its cut into extremely fine shreds, which is an art by itself!

The tip on how to remove the dirt from the cabbage and how to separate the cabbage from the water was useful. Thank you for the tip. Also let us know how to remove dirt from methi leaves. It is very tricky.
In Bengal we also cook almost in similar way but we don't add amchur . instead we add little sugar. And we use ginger,cumin, coriander paste . We do not use onion. And atlast garam masala powder and ghee us must. It's awesome

Nice recipe !! Simple Cabbage subji made with soaked Moog daal also tastes good. In the tadka add mustard seeds, green chilli, hing, little haldi & roasted methi seeds powder.
