6:57 if you worked in that station, just imagine how easily you could pocket a few of those rubber bands without anyone noticing. Do that for a week and you could have close to a hundred. But I’m sure each worker gets inspected each day after their shift.
Not worth the risk if you got caught … heard one guy accidentally had a rubber band stuck to his toe when he was leaving , let’s just say he doesn’t have 10 toes anymore
Very colorful process, but what a large process to go through for rubber bands. These people really work for a living. Rubber is such an important commodity in our everyday lives. Thank you!
It’s in our food chain, in tofu, in cheese, in pickles and in those sports drinks that those stupid people buy. No need for gloves, no worse than handling salt.
Same here … was a welder and so happy with each passing day. Life seems miserable after I went to school, became an investment banker, got a few yachts and planes, and got married to a stable woman with wonderful kids … oh boy do I miss those days when I was poor!
Would be useful to have some explanation of what is being used and what is being done with it ! Will never look at an elastic band in the same way again - without thinking of those hard working workers !
Eine Fabrik ist für mich ein Werk, in dem unter Beachtung von Naturschutz und Arbeitssicherheit recycel- und kompostierbare Produkte produziert werden.
The whole time i was watching i was just thinking about how this was "high low tech" on the second half now and the cushion/pillow place is p.cool thee last one....i have zero idea what just happened
At what point is hand labor more economical than other methods? I find it hard to believe that bag of rubber bands on my desk was hand-made in a village in India.
If labor is cheap, they use cheap machines, even if those machines require a lot of labor. If labor is expensive they buy the best, most productive machines because they want to make efficient use of that labor. There is a wide spectrum of possibilities. This is why labor unions can improve general efficiency of a factory. They force the wages up, so management will buy the most productive machines in order to make good use of their expensive labor. The result is higher productivity per man hour. If the wages had remained low, productivity would also remain low because management would see that using more labor and less machinery is the cheapest way to make the product.
And age 20 somethings in America don’t want to work at mcdonalds because it’s hard! 😂😂 Much respect to these people working outside in a jungle (with the most beautiful bird sounds) to ensure their families eat! Much respect!
Factory? Looks like a Columbian cocaine hut in the jungle! It's pretty interesting though, nice to see how it's done. Won't see this on, "How it's Made."
This NOT some modern factory, but rather some back yard hacked factory. They are using substitute McGiverered equipment. In no way is this a legal cooperation. OSHA would shut this place down in a flash. I saw some pretty youthful workers that in no way be allowed a work permit to work there. A real factory would have the workers in protective gear, they would have proper gasfired and electrified furnaces and heating units. The inspectors would not allow the filthy conditions they work in and the fall risks (stuff they could fall over while doing their tasks would be removed) would not be allowed. The workers would be protected from the chemicals with gloves, masks, respirators and protective clothing. The building would be fully enclosed and proper ventilation systems installed in the manufacturing facility. This whole thing looks like something a farmer out together in his back yard to make a little extra money.
Probably they use the formula a little of that not much if this double the amount of this !!!shake it but not too much !!!!!🫢 But finale they do and finish the product!!!and that is priceless be proud not your fault you are a very hard workers!!!,🔴🤫🫢
The quality control on those tennis balls was horrendous
Amazing? Yes, for many of us this high-tech and environmentally friendly production is amazing.
It's neither.
environmentally friendly?...🤔
The working conditions in Wonka’s factory have taken a nosedive
I never realized the technology involved in making rubber bands. State of the art. Interesting video.

Whats really amazing is that they work with no shoes or gloves
Amazing or ironic since gloves and shoes are made of rubber?
Not only are they concerned with personal protection equipment, it is obvious they value their environment highly, especially ground water resources.
Nor payment
No safety glasses and no safety so must be from the Punjab.
Or union wages

The smell of that factory has got to be phenomenal.
Calling it a factory is a stretch 👍
The guy is just handling the calcium chloride bare handed
It’s in our food chain, in tofu, in cheese, in pickles and in those sports drinks that those stupid people buy. No need for gloves, no worse than handling salt.
I think describing it as a “factory” is pushing it 😊
Factory as in modern technology
I love how they explain each step of the process 😂😂
God I miss factory work. You came in did your job then went home. I got a lot of satisfaction in creating something.
Same here … was a welder and so happy with each passing day. Life seems miserable after I went to school, became an investment banker, got a few yachts and planes, and got married to a stable woman with wonderful kids … oh boy do I miss those days when I was poor!
Someone from OSHA just had a stroke watching this video.👀😳😱💥☠️👻
Would be useful to have some explanation of what is being used and what is being done with it ! Will never look at an elastic band in the same way again - without thinking of those hard working workers !
Horrible work conditions
Video is a bit backwards, rubber bands at first but rubber harvesting at the end. Otherwise interesting ways they do things
Amazing how far robotics have come.
Brother clay mai kya add kiya
What is going on?
This is the second RUclips video I have seen when it switches to Tennis balls being made.
It would have been helpful to have had subtitles to tell what each stage was.
고무줄이 흥미롭네요
Very nice video
60+ years ago, I tapped the rubber trees in the South of Thailand.
Can i contact that rubber band company?

You sure can tell who's running that hell hole- watch the clean, well fed guy, worried about getting his shirt splashed
The whole time i was watching i was just thinking about how this was "high low tech"
on the second half now and the cushion/pillow place is p.cool
thee last one....i have zero idea what just happened
And all of the wonderful "extra" unknown chemicals you get with each rubber band!!! AND they don't even charge you for them.
Good show ! Everyone needs employment. Not just for the $$, but for the mind .
We all need something to do .
We really have to appreciate the trees now
Some narration with explanation would be nice.
I work in factories all my adult life. Where i am from, no factory allows you to sit down, I dream of sitting down at work.
Gente que incrível esse trabalho 😮😮😮😮
Everything is so filthy ! I certainly won’t put the rubber band in my mouth while I braid hair ever again !
Those machines have not been cleaned for a very long time! Run till they seize and then get new ?

Let's not forget. How much of our living depends on the hard work of others.
Working in bare feet around 500 lb barrels is not my idea of a calculated risk.
hard working people!
From Brasil 🇧🇷🎉
É nois irmão.
Rubber band price @@PTNuno
Be happy ❤❤❤
Just think of the smell and inhale in the vapors, without a mask!
Our pansy workers in the US need all sorts of protection. LOL
Sure this isn’t Columbia?
Fascinating but rater basic setup that shows what you can doo with little.
Materia prima del iphone, de celulares componentes de la industria electronica y electrica

Mi sento intossicata solo a vedere il filmato😢
“Billions”?
Looks like a coke lab
If hands are touching the product beyond the loading of raw material, it isn’t mass production.
No 🧤,no mask 😷,no shoes 👟,, 😱😱 risky for health 😭
So is starvation……

No Union = productivity

This looks more sketch than a cocaine operation!

OSHA doesn't apply in this country. OSHA is American and has no jurisdiction there.
Hasta me párese clandestino y de esclavitud ese tipo de trabajos
아하
Safety? You say "SAFETY"....? Meh! I laugh at the face of safety....
나에게 조금의 가치도 없는 물건을 저렇게 고생해서 만들어 냈다는게 충격적이다.
Lots of OSHA violations here.
過酷な労働環境…😢
for all we know they're adding petroleum products, eye of newt and bat droppings none of which makes sense but about as informative as this video.
환경이 너무 열악하네 😢😢😢😢😢
This can't be healthy :(
작업환경 봐라. 저건 노동이 아니라 고문이다. ㄷㄷㄷ
Acho que pelo menos têm trabalho e podem por comida na mesa. O que não acontece com muitas pessoas.
