@@OmarScruggs the biggest knock against Nas is that his beats selection is trash so his sound couldn’t keep up with what Jay Z was doing and that’s where the separation happened so it’s not about his rap skill. It’s about Jay’s ability to choose tracks That will keep him hot. That’s why Nas faded to the back and Jay Z pushed to the front in recent years though Naz has gotten it right and is slowly coming around but that’s what means right here.

@@thaabitshabazz4117 I’m not being a follower that was my honest opinion for everything after ochi Wally, same goes for JAY Z on everything after the blueprint until the album with Blue Magic on it, or DMX with grand champ. Most artists have a period where their selection is off with Nas, it was just longer than most and came at a bad time and the fact that Nas is way better than most rappers makes it stand out more so I hear what you’re saying but I’m not just some kid repeating gibberish, I’m a producer, that understands music and trust me the time period that I’m talking about Nas was getting bad advice about who to work with on the production side

Nas is prob the best lyricists ever... just wish he would've had some harder beats! Ppl sleep on The Firm and it's produced by Dre so it just hits more than most his other tracks. It has one of my all time favorite tracks period! Affirmative Action! It has Nas, AZ, Cormega and Foxxy Brown spits hands down the hardest verse I've ever heard from a woman. She dusts em all on that track! I heard she may not have written it tho. If that's the case then Nicky Minaj takes it on that track w Em, Monster i think it's called

I think people forget that at the time, everybody was riding with Jay-Z and takeover. Hot 97 was playing it heavy. Ether overtime became a classic and I feel history was rewritten that Nas won the beef and ether was a stronger diss record. Just my opinion.

That’s not true…when Ether dropped, it was like a bomb! I was in school and it was going super crazy! When I heard it I felt super scared, like that feeling when you know a hurricane is coming the whole day, and the wind finally starts blowing hard. I thought they both would die like Biggie and Tupac. I was a big Jay Z fan at the time, but Nas shocked the whole world with Ether and won by a landslide due to ‘Super Ugly’ not being able to keep up
