    At the end of the day, it will all get settled on the field. There’s absolutely no doubt the SEC is MUCH deeper than the Big 12… it will be a gauntlet for sure! Every game will be hard fought… depth will be a HUGE factor come November. As a Longhorn, I’m looking forward to being measured against the best of the best - and living on the East Coast, attending some of the games! Cousin Shane is right… in the SEC, EVERY Saturday counts - there are no off weeks (except historically Vandy - apologies to Commodores)… and on any given Saturday, if you blink, someone in the SEC who wasn’t expected to win a game, wins the game. The SEC is the BEST conference… and all us Texas fans are grateful and excited to be a part of it… Let’s get the season going!!!

      We haven't even seen the real EA sports rankings. All we have seen, is what they were in an early iteration given to media, that wasn't even the most recent version of the game. There will always be debate about the rankings, but it won't release with stuff like USC defense being top 25. Plus, they will update those rosters about 4 or 5 times throughout the season.

    What Oklahoma and Texas fans (speaking as a Mizzou fan) will have to realize is that everyone has talent. OU thinks it can just roll through teams like Mizzou not realizing that in the Big XII Mizzou never had a higher recruiting rank than say 36. The talent gap has closed. Like everyteam has talent not just those at the very top.
    Like, right now, Mizzou has a top 15 recruting class right now, and they're still like #8 in the SEC.
    Also if Nussmeiyer is 8 and Atnold is 10. Nico shoulf be in that same boat because of youth and inexperience. Like those 3 guys should be 8-10 with potential to move up. Id put Weigman higher just because he has starting experience, not his fault he got hurt last year.

    • @ThatTexasDude
      @ThatTexasDude 22 дня назад

      What Missouri needs to realize is that 2 teams that stomped Missouri every year in the Big XII is coming to the SEC and will push mediocre Mizzou down the SEC tier list. Missouri is now a middle of the pack to bottom team.

    • @shawnkurtz4424
      @shawnkurtz4424 22 дня назад

      @ThatTexasDude and now everyone can buy players not just the elite blue blood programs. Pinkel never had a recruiting class over 35, Eli has blown that out of the water in terms of pure talent. You gonna find out.

    11:02 I was arguing with a family member that Texas and Oklahoma are good against the SEC historically. And I'm the kind of nerd that will make a spreadsheet to prove someone wrong or myself right. Lol. Also, I can't argue with that logic. Mertz at 7 makes sense. He's got one of his old receivers with him from Wisconsin via the portal. They say he's going to be going deep a lot more this year but I'll believe it when I see it. What Shane said makes a little sense, too. We went through it with Anthony Richardson's first year. Everyone kept calling for him to replace Emory Jones. So, I hope we don't get into that situation again. I hope Mertz is so good that there is no question that he is the right guy and next year is DJ's year

      The shift is from a schedule with 3-4 really tough and physically grinding games to 5-6, maybe more depending on the luck of the draw in terms of scheduling. SEC Championship is harder to win than a Natty. It’s a gauntlet and one bad loss is all it takes. So easy to underestimate a team like Kentucky or Arkansas or Carolina and go on the road and get beat. Other conferences the path is much easier.

    • @xliquidflames
      @xliquidflames 24 дня назад +1

      @@jessesewell7922
      Yeah, that's very true and that's what Oklahoma and Texas' history against the SEC doesn't show. Sure, they have a winning record against the SEC but they were not playing SEC caliber talent every week. I just wanted to be right about them having a winning record, though. Lol.

    • @GinaKnapp
      @GinaKnapp 22 дня назад

      @xliquidflames You sure prefer having a winning record then a losing record against whoever you play. That is how we judge who is better....clearly OU and Texas have been historically better then most of their opponents including SEC. They are 2 of the all time winningest programs.. Texas either #2 or 3 all time, OU isn't too far behind.

    Thanks Cousin Shane for your opinion on Conner Weigman deserving a low rating.
    Jimbo’s offensive line should have been rated worst on the country!!
    Aggie QBs get hit more than a professional boxer in a 15 round fight.
    Season-ending QB injuries were expected with Jimbo’s 1967 offense…We finished the ‘21 season with our 2nd string QB (Zach Calzada started final 10 games): the ‘22 season with 3rd string QB (Weigman started last 7 games) and the ‘23 season with 4th string QB (Marcel Reid had to finish up the Bowl game after 3rd string QB Jaylen Henderson broke his arm on the first play).
    I’d prefer you ranked Weigman #16 even though he has a new Head Coach and new OL coach. I understand OL coach Bateman reminds his offensive line EVERY DAY just how bad their reputation is amongst Aggie fans for protecting the QB AND piss poor passing and rushing numbers.
    I also hear that Strength and Conditioning coach Tommy Moffitt is kicking the O-line’s ass in the Weight room also.
    If that O-line can raise their standard and Weigman can avoid injury this season, he might be good enough to move up to #15 in the SEC before the end of the season.
    Aggie fans are happy that A&M has 12 QBs on the roster this season….just in case😊.

    I was certainly surprised. I have trouble saying he's the best in the SEC, but I sure hope you're right about the kind of year Cook is going to have. He doesn't have the top-level NFL arm talent, but he's a tough and smart leader, and that can get you pretty far at the college level.

UGA-bad pick, I'll grant you, but the D didn't come to play in the 3rd Quarter and certain calls did NOT go in Mizzou's favor. OSU-top 2 D in the country with no opt outs of note on Defense. He made plays down the stretch when they had to have it. Cody was the man, but he was still a D-2 recruit for a reason. Scheme and OL had a fair role in Cody's success last year and the OL will be even better this year.

    I’m totally fine with folks having opinions. But there has to be logic to base opinions. You dock Beck because he got “out dueled” by Milroe (which actually didn’t happen. Beck had more yards, better completion %, and a better QBR than Milroe in the SECCG…but Bama did win so give him credit) and discredit Beck for “struggling” in the SECCG (which again wasn’t exactly the case….but again Bama won the game). Regardless, that was 1 game out of 14 in his first year as a starter. Beck also out played and beat both your QBs you have ranked ahead of him. Why not give him credit for that instead of docking him for their 1 loss? I mean, you have Nico ranked just outside of the top 5 based off of 1 start and a ton of hype cause he’s yet to even play 1 SEC game much less a full season. Your logic is just flawed with these rankings. I have absolutely no issues where you want to rank Beck. Rank him last if you want. Doesn’t matter. But at the very least have some logic and consistency with your criteria.

    I think the question isn’t really how ready for the SEC are the Sooners and Whornes rather how good is the Big 12 relative to SEC teams. I would argue that it’s a lot closer than many realize. Virtually any team in the SEC on any given year can and would have great difficulty at Okie Lite, Texas Tech, Kansas, Kansas State etc. No, the Big 12 is not as good overall but they usually have at least 4-6 teams that go to bowl games and beat all comers. OU has a tradition of winning and championships unmatched by any SEC teams except Bama. I truly believe that if you look deeply into college football history you Will find that that top 5 blue blood programs consist of in no particular order Alabama, Oklahoma, Ohio st, Notre Dame, and USC. Texas, Nebraska, Michigan (yes Michigan), maybe Penn St, and Fla St make up the next tier and everyone else kinda falls in line in graduating scale. Make no bones about it. OU and as much as I hate to say it…..Texass have legitimate reasons why they will (possibly) instantly fit into the top echelon of the conference. I do feel as if there will be down years more often than in the Big 12 but I also feel as if both OU and Tex will win championships soon. Evidence lies within recruiting stats. OU has done nothing but improve their recruiting since announcing entry into the SEC. Many players that would never given the Sooners look are now simply due to conference realignment. I may be wrong but I don’t think so.

    • @johnparker8588
      @johnparker8588 23 дня назад

      Remember how quickly Am and Missouri won in the SEC and they were not the best in the Big 12. Texas and Ou will be near the top of the conference most years.

    LOL @ Beck at 3. When he is ripping defenses a new one left and right... we'll see. You really think Brady Cook is a better QB? Holy crap dude. Dart is good but the Dawgs made him look pedestrian in the game last year. And he is injury prone. He runs too often and doesn't protect himself. To be a good QB you have to be AVAILABLE. Still laughing. And you'll be red faced by mid season. Just damn...

    I was watching an old RUclips game from 1994 and it was SC at LSU. Carolina won on the road at LSU then went home the next week and lost at home to East Carolina. The SEC has always had top level talent on every team. SC had future NFL stars on the field that day but they lack depth. It seems to me the real difference between champions and mid tier teams is depth and obviously coaching. There are teams that have a pretty darn good starting 22 but there’s no margin of error when injuries start piling up. Coaching is huge now and will be increasingly important in the era of the portal.

    You have got to be high to put Cook and Dart over Beck and Milroe. Carson Beck threw for more yards than anyone else in the SEC last year, more than Jayden Daniels. He had the second-best QBR in the league. You say that's because of Bowers, but Bowers had his least productive season last year due to injury.
    You know who had the third-best QBR, Jalen Milroe. Do you think Cook and Dart are going to somehow leap those two this year?
    You also don't seem to acknowledge the impact Cody Schrader had on Cook's numbers. Take Schrader out of Missouri's offense last year and every single defense is going to play a more pass-slanted scheme. You are low on Beck because of his performance in the Alabama game? How did Dart do against Georgia last year? He went 10-17 for 112 yards and 1 int. Not exactly Heisman numbers there Mike.
