@Steve Wolcott lol but you said outside of sg and msia, just wanted to add that milo is popular in australia too. i know its rare to find milo in korea.
YAY Singapore represent!! Btw, there is an outlet of Bee Cheng Hiang in Myeongdong!! I was so surprised to see our own local brand opening a store there :D
Hansol behind the camera tho. 😅 Also, I love the Indonesian version of floss buns! They're chicken floss bun and spicy meat floss bun. Basically the format is the same but not using pork as it's non-halal ingredients.
We have breadtalk here in Indonesia but I never know that is singaporean brand😱 and we have that floss bread but yeah indonesian change it to chicken floss instead of pork floss ㅋㅋ i love the chicken floss and now craving for the pork floss too😢😢 [brb flying to singapore in my dream ㅠㅠ] Edit : indonesian has beef floss not chicken floss.. my mistake ㅎㅎ
So glad to see this video on Singapore food! Dave, you should try the spicy bak kwa (pork jerky). The spicy version is really popular in Singapore too! Not sure if they sell that in the Korean Bee Cheng Hiang store though. Bak kwa as Jeanette said is mostly eaten during Chinese New Year and that's when we count our calories because as delicious as bak kwa is, it is one of the top 2 CNY goodies that = calorie bomb. 😂 RIP dieting plans~
Hahaha Dave & Erina are having fun with the names. 😂😂😂 Bakkwayaro. LOL. Also, I just found out BreadTalk is actually a Singaporean brand. Omg, their bread really smells so good and taste good. The Aroma from the bread shop can actually be smelled from afar. Really good!
6:08 Kageyama's here 😂😂😂 He appeared when he heard the word 'Set' Kageyama bakkwayarooo~Oh my I saw Hinata too. Hahaha, okay it's not only that, there's too many Haikyuu references to point out. 😂
I remember there is Singapore restaurant in Korea. Please look search and try chilli crab! No one will dislike that. Try with fried buns! That's the best combi.
Bakkwa is so exp that we only buy them during SPECIAL occasions and CNY. My all time fav bakkwa will always be the Bee Cheng Hiang's minced pork! Other than eating on its own, I would have it as a sandwhich; bakkwa with sliced cucumber sandwich~ 🇲🇾 The only time I would buy bakkwa out of the blue is when I visit 🇸🇬 and randomly come across a Bee Cheng Hiang branch
0:35 She spoke in Taiwanese (민난어閩南語), although she didn't pronounce it really precisely; and the Chinese character was wrote "肉脯육포" same as Korean Hanja The "Bakkwa박과" part was also Taiwanese, the hanja is "肉乾육건"
6:58 is that HANSOL (koreareomit) voice??? We also have BEE CHENG HIANG in indonesia and it still pork not chicken, it’s delicious.. i love it! For the bread talk floss, they changed it to chicken and beef in indonesia, no pork allowed.. And also we call it SRIKAYA, indonesian also love that! Just spread it with a toast and hot coffee in the morning, ooh perfect!
Really nice to see Singaporean food available in S.Korea. Not used to more English being spoken - memory tells me Korean was mostly used in previous episodes ㅋㅋㅋ Thanks for the episode ☺️
As someone that is born in Singapore we mainly eat bakkwa during chinese new year and Chili Crab sauce is normally eaten with mantous which are like chinese bread that can be steamed or fried.
Hi from Singapore! Everything you guys have tried are my favourite! I love to eat Bakwa with Bread but have not try it with butter 🤔 definitely gonna try it~ P.s. can't wait for the next video! I love durians~
wait what, bread, butter and bak kwa, i usually just munch it till everything disappears lol. Dave is swiping all the food ahaha, glad you enjoyed some singaporean delicacies
Bakkwa is Chinese and it is very popular in Hong Kong, sold usually by street vendors. I can attest that it is very good, I used to want to eat a whole pack by myself - they're that good!
In Hong Kong they don't call it Bak kwa though. Bak kwa is a loanword from Hokkien which is a dialect we use mainly in Singapore, in other countries throughout Southeast Asia where there is a large Hokkien speaking diaspora (eg Philippines, parts of Malaysia like Penang), southern Fujian (China) and Taiwan only.
Is there pandan chiffon cake in South Korea? I know of tourists who buy MANY boxes of that from Bengawan Solo before leaving Singapore (By the way, there are different types of kaya available in Singapore). Another thing that some Singaporeans are hooked on are prawns or crabs cooked in salted egg sauce, or crispy, buttered cereal crumbs. I had Western guests who wolfed down all the above, without cholesterol and calorie concerns. 😅
When i went to Singapore i was shocked cuz there were pork menu, because in Malaysia has halal certificate. I love bread from Bread Talk especially egg yolk 🥐
You won't believe me but that amount of butter is still small. 😂 We'd literally spread the butter throughout the sliced bread. Is this is a Southeast Asian thing? 😂 And wait, Jeanette looks familiar. Was she on Billyonaire's channel? Haha
i saw on Korean TV.. that Singapore's JUMBO Seafood opened 2 branches in Seoul.. i think one in Myeongdong.. there is Chili Crab also. though i am sure it must be really expensive.
@@256f3 well its easily SGD $70 per kg in Tourist areas like Clarke Quay here.. (though the price is like some years back).. Local places is more like $40 per kg.. 1 crab is about 1kg.. (some places it may be smaller st 800g or so each)..
The moment Jeanette speaks in English, you know she is legit SGrean.
