In this video, I am taking part in the Arba'een pilgrimage, from Najaf to Karbala, Iraq. The Arba'een is the largest annual gathering of human beings anywhere on the planet, bringing 20M+ Shia Muslims to Iraq every single year to commemorate the death of Imam Hussain in the year 680 AD. The Arba'een is one of the greatest displays of human generosity anywhere in the world - all along the walk, pilgrims are offered food, water, tea, coffee, and even lodging, completely for free.

Hello from Lebanon!
I did the walk in 2014 and 3 of the sweetest memories I have of it are the following:
1) I saw camps that had tubs where the people walking could literally take of their shoes, soak their feet, and get massages to ease the pain of the walking.
2) The Lebanese people are pretty known to be perfectionists so when I used to refuse the food (which is a big no-no for the Iraqis to refuse the generosity given out of love for Imam Hussain) in my Lebanese Arabic, the camp givers would yell (Ohhh they're Lebanese) and immediately get packed Snickers/Mars/other chocolate bars to give me so that I couldn't refuse packaged food.
3) I saw so many people that had been walking from cities and areas that are 300+ Km away from Karbala (from Tehran for example).

رب السنه لديه ساق: صحيح البخاري - تفسير القرآن - يوم يكشف عن ساق - رقم الحديث : ( 4538 ) - حدثنا الليث عن خالد بن يزيد عن سعيد بن أبي هلال عن زيد بن أسلم عن عطاء بن يسار عن أبي سعيد ( ر) قال سمعت النبي (ص) يقول يكشف ربنا عن ساقه فيسجد له كل مؤمن ومؤمنة فيبقى كل من كان يسجد في الدنيا رياء وسمعة فيذهب ليسجد فيعود ظهره طبقا واحدا.
رب السنه لديه يدا ويدان وايدي: إبن حزم - المحلى - الجزء : ( 1 ) - رقم الصفحة : ( 33 ) : وإن الله عز وجل عزا وعزة وجلالا وإكراما ، ويدا ويدين وأيديا (كذا) ووجها وعينا وأعينا ، وكبرياء وكل ذلك حق لا يرجع منه ولا من علمه تعالى وقدره وقوته إلا إلى الله تعالى لا إلى شيء غير الله عز وجل أصلا.
هذا التصور الذي يصف الله وكأنه يصف أحد مخلوقات الله وهذا مقبول عندهم بشرطين:
1- أن يأتي حديث يقول بذلك.
2- أن يقولوا بعد أن يؤمنوا بذلك يليق بجلاله. لعنه الله عليك يا عدو الله

I was blessed to go to Iraq this year for Arbaeen of Imam Hussain A.S., and i witnessed the love and generosity of the iraqi people for the Zawars (visitors) of Imam Hussain A.S, this walk not only shows u their love, kindness and generosity, the Shias believe for every step u take a 1000 sins are forgiven and replaced with a thousand blessings. It isnt a must for all pilligrims to walk its a choice so even 1 step counts.
For me the whole trip ... was life changing and Pray i get the opportunity to do it again. Thank u for showing the world the love People have for Imam Hussain A.S

A couple days ago the same thing happend in bagdad kwatumia when the imam kwatum passed away i went to visit the grave of the imam it was truly the best experience of my life. Cant wait for Kerbela.
