Watching on RUclips is nice and interesting, but being there that's something entirely different. Those countries are super dangerous and without understanding the culture and knowing how to speak carefully with those people might be traumatic experience to say the least. If you are coming from a country that has no conflict with Muslims and you know how to behave over there then it might be ok and joyful experience... In any case I personally wouldn't risk my life just to have an adventure, no one will be protecting you if something goes sideways.

Luke, I'm soo impressed that you're in KARBALA Masha'Allah it's pronounced KURB-ALLA.. I was there in September for Arbaeen and in July for Muharam. I remember eating falafel sandwich at the same place where you ate the shwarma, do visit after sunset it's very nice. I was able to take my mobile phone inside the shrine but I don't think they'll allow you to film, you need special permission. Please you must go inside the Shrine and to the grave of Imam Hussain A.S son of Imam Ali and to Mola Abbas brother Imam Hussain, it's mind blowing. The walk way between the 2 shrines is called Banul Hermain, make sure you checkout your shoes from one Shrine to another. Love and Blessings from Chicago 😊 Labik Ya Hussain ❤

More then 25million people will be there & eating, staying is free as people who live along the road that connects the 2 cities have been saving all year to host the pilgrims. They keep rooms free in their houses so pilgrims may stay for free. Praise be to Allah. May Allah reward them all for their kindness… Ameen🤲🏽

i’ve been enjoying watching this series because of your friendly, outgoing and non-judgmental personality shown in these videos! as i’ve said, you’re the first foreigner here on youtube i’ve seen that haven’t made weird political takes while visiting countries like Iraq. like you said on 11:06, i think those people try to make it seem problematic or dramatic for no reason; yes, you may experience that as a tourist, regardless of what nation your passport belongs to, but it’s not as bad as the other foreign tourists make ir seem to be.. matter of fact, these check points and heavy security is for your own good - to try keep you away from harm like terrorist attacks.
and also, you seem to be limited on the knowledge about the holy figures, that’s okay because i’m sure you’re learning! but what i’d like to correct on you is, Imam ‘Ali is the father of Imam al-Hussain, and also of al-Abbas whose shrine is across that of Imam al-Hussain. the occasion you were mentioning is called “Arba’een” which literally translates to “the forty” in Arabic. in Islamic tradition, when someone has passed away, we tend to commemorate their death up to forty days, so there was an tragedy that took place about 1400 years ago in Karbala, on the 10th of the Islamic month of Muharram, in which Imam al-Hussain along with his companions and male family members were brutally killed during the battle. it was 70 people against thousands of soldiers. the “Arba’een” then takes place a month after, on the 20th of the Islamic month of Safar. visiting Karbala is a recommendation during this day, thus the reason millions of people come to visit, out of their love and servitude as well as for the spiritual reward. most people would begin the walk in the beginning of the Islamic month of Safar. coming from all across the world, people may start the walk from Najaf, Basra, Baghdad, etc., but also from outside of Iraq like Kuwait or Iran. that just explains how much these people love the Imam. you should read more into this as it is very interesting!

Welcome to you and everyone in Iraq and Karbala. Thank you for the wonderful video. Hussein, a historical leader, who revolted against the Umayyad rule, inherited the ruling among themselves, revolted against corruption, revolted for the sake of the poor, for freedom and democracy, and for the sake of justice and equality. He came with his family and friends to Kufa, but they cut off the road and water and killed his friends and children They killed even his infant son, cut off the head of Hussein, cut off his body, and burned the tents of his family and his women, a brutal crime that the mind cannot believe, but Hussein with his blood triumphed over the murderous criminals. Although 1480 years have passed since the killing of Al-Hussein, he sacrificed in order to live free and not be silent about injustice, even though he is the grandson of the Prophet Muhammad, but everyone loves him

And Husain wanted to be king Islamic empire by inheriting his father and grandfather …. Same same …
Hussien at the end was captured and put in a limit …
U said Umayyad took the rule for themselves, they were intelligent and well deserved to be the rulers … unlike Hussien who use his grandfather name to reach authority , so pathetic! And Hussien was a failure … why ? Cuz all his friends who invited him in Iraq , they have murdered him in southern Iraq … and his head was cutten and his body wasn’t buried …. That’s why also Shia have another lie .. which is ? They claim that the grave of imam Hussien is in Karbala … why no one ever knew his exact place
