In Germany (at least in my area i can speak of) we are not navigated to a certain adress, but the GPS Coordinate of the entrance of the building. So we have both information: Street and House#, and the Pinpoint to the entrance of the building. Works like a charme.. most the time. But always be alert and trust yourself, not a navigationsoftware.
I worked for a government organization that made the local “version” of the ambulance mapping. We had to get our own data and used GIS (Geographic Information Systems) software, specifically ArcGIS (but there are open source softwares such as QGIS) and for the dispatching software we paid lots of money for. I don’t think there is a free open source version of that.
Which futuristic world are you talking about? A fleet of Ambulances? For one person? You can wait here in the U.K. for 3 hours for an ambulance to arrive if you had a stroke. Main reason is that the ambulances are queuing up for hours outside the hospital’s A&E entrance because there’s no one to take the patient into the hospital. They’re now using the corridors as “wards” and even claim that it’s safe. 14 years of right wing conservatives ruined our healthcare, education and more. Thanks for the video though 😄 A great one as always
Because its made to profit off the general public, which doesnt need the gps system of first responder vehicles (Just a theory havent watched yet) Edit: yeah half-right
Um what, please improve your scripts. Right now this looks like stock footage compilation with a script that does not say much, if at all. Everything else looks good - the narration, editing, etc. Google maps is a separate thing from google navigation. A fleet management software could still use google maps with their own navigation.
Did I ever wonder this? No. Am I now very curious? Yes.

I'm in the process of joining my local EMS service. I'm curious what they'll be using.
Very neat!
Interesting information as always 👍🙌 I always learn something new from your videos.
Keep up the good work!🎉
Glad you found it interesting!
An eagle talon could be used as an ambulance for faster response time. Could save many lives
Unless it breaks down… 😮
My students missed you!
:)
Another question I’ve never thought much about but I’m glad I got the answer to it!
😁
Google Maps is just not made for emergency services. And I thought there are alternatives already, providing a good navigation for emergency services…
Another excellent video!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Where can I download the ambulance version of google maps?
