I worked in that mill. The 1st pulpit you were in is not a crane cab but rather the pulpit for a roller of the mill. The object you were questioning is an inter pulpit mill phone with an ingot counter resting atop of it.

To easily ship steel and receive raw goods such as coal and iron? Also to draw water from the bay for all their water requirements for steel making? Idk just a thought

I worked at a steel mill in Cleveland, Ohio and the over head cranes there could lift 150 tons.

Wow that is amazing what a waste of so much stuff. Surprised it was not auction off if they weren't ever planning to use it again.

That was one big assed crane. Wow! I like all kinds of videos Terry. Fantastic explore. I don't like spiders either. Pretty sketchy stairs. Kinda gave me a creepy feeling. 🙃

The steel industry was started in Canada way back in 1910. The industry started flourishing and expanding thereof. Maybe, it was doing good business when WW1 break out in Jul of 1914. The industry provided decent jobs for most people who were living in poverty during those time . There were a few popular steel industry in Canada namely Hamilton which was able to survive over a 100 years of its existence. The industry shown above could had been Hamilton Steel Industry after its demised and left abandoned.
During the explore of the massive steel industry, Terry came across not only a large and rugged looking factory but primitive looking equipment and gadgets with big buttons that could had never be seen by most people. It was quite dangerous exploring in the dark factory, walking across rusted hanging walkaways and rusted beams not knowing it could collapsed at any minute.
With the steel industry shrinking and on the decline due to increase globalization, it's a wonder what the future holds for the steel industry in Canada. Nowadays, most steel industries are not privately owned. Most are owned by foreign investors, which indirectly have an impact on the economy growth of such countries. Great explore. It's a nice video, although it was quite a drastic change from the usual abandoned home explore. Thanks Terry.

If your batteries went dead you would have had to wait until day light to get out of there.
