This makes me nostalgic...When I lived in Rochester in the 90s, the Bop Shop was a regular stop-in, every Saturday.
I still drop in whenever I pass through Rochester... They helped me complete a vintage Sinatra Capitol collection
(i.e., the 1959-62 rainbow-crest-and-spire pressings) for a friend. Great place.

That’s awesome, Mark! The Bop Shop is definitely a great place and one-of-a-kind! I try to take trips there as much as I can and always leave with some great stuff!

@@analog_archive I also found there some vintage Columbia 6-eye pressings of Paul Weston's MOOD FOR 12 and SOLO MOOD - two of the very finest-yet-underrated big band albums of the 50s. The Bop Shop's classical selection is also nothing to sneeze at !

Made our way to Rochester yesterday. Unfortunately we hit 3 other stores before Bop Shop (and did great!) but was pretty blown away by what is there. Amazing stuff. Didn't pop for any high end jazz but was tempted. Was looking for a few titles that I would've grabbed but they had sold. Cool thing is the bins are loaded with nice $20-$30 LPs. I grabbed a nice copy of Shepp's "For Losers" and also 2 amazing psych finds. Really want to get back to explore the bins some more. We were out of time and cash! Great video here though Joe!

He is a great jazz musician to collect, glad to hear you have been able to pick some of his stuff up! It is a tough one, but the copies are out there! I like to find it in the wild. It makes it more special. Like the 50s Savoy Jazz album from my last video. I never thought I'd find that in the wild. Way more special than if I copped online. That's just how works for me though. I truly appreciate the tip though.
