Heya from Kingston Ontario :) happy to hear you can do the exam online ... i did a course during the pandemic.. but never had a chance to do the exam so it got back burnered ... with the way things are going i need to get back on this journey and get on the air ..72/73
@@Drifter69 hello! Try a practice test or two and see where you are at or refresh yourself! When you are ready to take the test contact your local club and I'm sure they have examiners that would love to issue an exam!
I'm old school, is there a study manual that you would recommend? I'm located in Edmonton and I remember getting a licence for a CB radio back in the 70s.
i did the exam during the "V" and it was done thru Skype. i studied for 3days before the exam and got 95% or something. if you put your mind to it and study hard for a couple of days you'll pass easy. *DO IT!!*
hi from Toronto :) nice video and thanks for posting the links. i just started studying and have been using the coax publication book. do you think anything more is needed for self-study ?
Great video So glad I reached out to my local radio club, dragged my feet for years, got my basic with honors in Dec of 2023 and have had such a great year being a ham, so many nice people with tons in common
I would have done the exam years ago, but those "negative" questions throw me for a loop every time... my brain isn't wired to except that style of questioning :(
@@ppi57 then don't worry about understanding. Just flash card the questions and memorize the answers! It's multiple choice and all the questions and answers are available in the link below in a pdf!
@@ppi57 welp, sorry mate. It's not for everyone. A 10yr old girl just took the exam at our local club and passed. If you really want to do it, YOU CAN DO IT!

@@darryldowneyNo kidding. I am out in Langford. Electrical engineer by training, so I figured this might be right up my alley.
