What I really enjoyed about this is how Aman allowed himself to lose, he didn’t go into GM bullet mode, he allowed the loss as the viewers can learn more from that and analyse the game.

I really like that too. He's making such relatable moves and the way he shows his thought processes really helps us see what is or could go wrong. His methodology also helps to build a lot of confidence.

Best video of this series yet! I understand every move you made and why you made it.

Basic tactics (forks, pins, skewers, discoveries)
Capture towards the center with pawns
Maintain pins instead of taking immediately
Control and move towards the center
    Castle early (but not ASAP)
    Continue taking most available trades
Develop your pieces to more aggro squares
Make an escape square for the king once finished development
    Rooks belong behind passed pawns
Premove captures and premove when under 10 seconds
    Know all the basic checkmates
Expand in the center early with pawns in order to gain space

Love the series, has really helped in solidifying habits and playing more solidly. Especially helps because I play a lot puzzles but play very u focused and too aggressively in actual games 😅
Got an easy bump in 200 rating points after playing a few games with these rules :)

23:47 - Aman: "It's nice to have absolutes when you're starting it (chess)". Great advice and true for a lot of things to learn in life!

Definitely I like that you are able to lose and also play moves that teach you a lesson. Some grandmasters may explain why a certain move is bad, but you actually play it and let yourself suffer the consequences. We learn from our mistakes :)

Amazing series. I'm sitting around 1k in rapid and this is helping me remember focus on the basics. I do too many puzzles and I overthink things lol

Great series! I like that you take the loss if it's there, it allows for more teachable moments.

Love this series. The idea of developing general habits is brilliant, and exactly what I've been looking for. Usually others just say "Memorize these lines and openings" but in real play, I find that my games never follow those memorized lines, and it seems like a waste of effort.
One thing I'm wondering is what does it mean to develop aggressively? Does that just mean in the center?

The great wisdom of this series is how steadfast and patient it is. Instead of CRUSH YOUR OPPONENT NOW, it teaches restraint and tenacity.
    (THEN we can CRUSH-SMASH).
