It's time for another one of these, this time we're playing as the showoff-phenom himself, Mac Fraser! This one had some pretty incredible moments in it, for instance in Tokyo.
Like always with Daggy-brand Longplays, the "philosophy" is variety - spicing up my routes, tricks and riding styles throughout. I also decided to switch between race and showoff often, every single other Longplay I've seen does all races then all showoff tracks. I hope this makes the longplay more enjoyable, hope you'll like the video!

7:40 the dynamic music in this game still amazes me to this day. The more ambient stuff on the hidden trails, the filtering in the air, the "Tricky" cuts beatmatching the backing tempo...
This game really needs a remake!! I miss it and I would love to see people pick it up and create new places and add more to the characters. The scores on this game were nuts. But also on a competitive side we need to get online play with this!! I think it would blow peoples mind. What do you guys think?

Hehe, happy to hear it :) When I make these kinds of videos, I really wanna emphasize showing off the many interesting paths you can take in this game. It's part of what makes it so much fun and so unique, the track design is just great! Hope you enjoyed the video ^^

Odd how the game doesn't recognize Kaori as a friend for Mac even though he clearly digs her.
That’s because Mac in the World Circuits of both the original SSX and Tricky is a lone Wolf but in his tricky Bio when Asked about Kaori Mac stutters as he nearly says he likes her but he rebounds saying that she’s Nice not in a relationship way but rather nice to hang around. Where on the other Hand Kaori in her tricky Bio openly mentions that she loves Mac without hesitation more then a few times throughout her Bio. When Playing as Kaori Mac is listed as Friend.

For a game like this to run so smoothly and with little bugs is crazy. When you do encounter one, the game provided a reset mechanic.
This was my favourite game to play as a kid!! So many memories. Merqury City, Tokyo Megaplex, and Aloha Ice Jam are my favourite tracks

It looks HD because it is HD. This was likely played on an emulator, so the game is rendered in HD. PS2 can't do that with this game, which is why it looks a bit rough.
Yup, like Tuppoo said, this is on the Gamecube emulator so it was actually upscaled to 1080p :)

I am surprised by the 3D sensation that this game transmits. This is something we don't think about anymore, and we take it for granted, but in this game the 3D is very noticeable (more than in other games, and more than most modern games. You just have to look at the dolls that float in the night track). Is this the gamecube version?

I want to know where I can get this to be able to play on PS5 because I have been missing this since it disappeared years ago I am 56 years old it's one of my favorite games where can I find SSX tricky right now to be able to play on the PS5 does anyone know
Hi Kathleen! There is no way to play it on a PS5, unfortunately... if you still have the original gaming system you played it on, it should be possible to buy a new copy online for a few dollars! Otherwise, if you have a PC (computer) you can play it there too, although it's a bit more complex. It's possible to play old console games using emulators, which are basically programs that pretend to be old gaming systems and run the games the same way the console would. It does take a bit of work to set up, but there are tutorials for it online, so if you're interested, let me know and I'll try to help you out! To use an emulator, either a relatively modern laptop (anything from the last 3-6 years should do) or pretty much any desktop computer made in the last 7-10 years will be good enough to run it well.

@Kathleen Stewart Hmm based on what I can find online, it looks like it should be possible to use the Dolphin emulator on your Shield. I don't personally have a Shield so I can't give any detailed information on how exactly to set it up, but it looks like it should work. I found this video which looks like it covers everything worth knowing about setting it up: ruclips.net/video/sb8NX10m2pM/видео.html&ab_channel=ETAPRIME And yes, Tricky and SSX 3 were both for PS2, and also Gamecube and the original Xbox! Cuz those faces are Pixel Art Versions Of SSX (2000) the original one of Mac and Kaori’s models guess most of Mercury City’s residents must be fans of Mac and Kaori plus judging from Mac saying in the Mercury City Meltdown Showoff before it started said “Man you know this feels like home!” He must of been born in Mercury City somewhere.

No I did not get it working I'm really bumming I got a hold of the video they do not have the game or the emulator to play anything on PS2 or the game itself so I'm really bummin
hey Kathleen, it might work with the emulator pcsx2 and you should look at vimm (.) net, they have ssx 3, on tour and tricky in their downloads library. I can't imagine your computer wouldn't be able to run it. Hope I could help, from one older female fan to another.

Haha, nice one. I think a lot of people played as Mac as kids, but when you play it later most people will have developed a taste rather than just going with the person they relate most with.

@@renielbalorio5256 Tricky is the only game in the original trilogy of the SSX Series What has slight development about Mac and Kaori’s “Relationship” they have throughout the SSX series that’s supposed to be the pre-Race dialogue for your selected rider’s with your friend/Riding partner despite Kaori being marked as a white neutral in Mac’s Aggression bars the rest of the riders minus Brodi and Zoe and Eddie are all Orange Neutrals to Mac then Luther is marked as Mac’s enemy/Rival despite Mac’s bio saying it’s Moby then in the Alaska Race Mac and Moby have their Enemy Dialogue when your either playing as Mac or Moby. The line you mentioned in a reply to Daggy is Mac and Kaori’s second Friend dialogue on Aloha Ice Jam. It’s also possible for these dialogues to trigger when Playing as Kaori as long as if Brodi isn’t present and next to Kaori in the start area but even so it’s super rare for them to trigger even if Brodi isn’t present.
@@renielbalorio5256 also Fun Fact: in some specific Na/NTSC Ps2 releases of Tricky like mine it’s possible for Kaori to be the only white neutral in the whole game to have zero progression on her aggression bar towards Mac and its next to impossible to raise it and you can’t turn Kaori into a friend, Kaori seems super hard to anger in the said NA Ps2 releases of Tricky when Playing as Mac she only seems to get angry when you boost knock her down on Snowdream after getting out of the start area but she rarely even swings at Mac unless your to close to her or if you cut her off in some of Snowdream’s high banked turns and she has the faintest white Exclamation Mark over her head when angered when Playing as Mac which makes her even more unique rest of the white exclamation marks are lot more visible on the other riders the only exceptions to this Kaori rule is of course is Alaska where the Ai is programmed to be more aggressive towards the player regardless of what their progression is on their aggression bar for each rider you can play as. They also kinda continued this with Mac in 3 as Peak ones boss when Playing as Kaori when he’s next to you in the final races of Snow Jam And Metro City Breakdown you can hit Mac as many times as you want and he won’t swing back. Also Kaori is the only character as a cpu who seems to have a hate decrease mechanic in Tricky. When both her and the Player are far apart from each other guess that kinda explains why her Bio says she rarely holds a grudge and she diffuses throughout a race. Plus if she knocks you down with the white exclamation mark above her it seems to reset her to non-aggressive also in the said specific NA Ps2 releases of Tricky I don’t know if Ea Big deliberately did that with Kaori’s Ai when Playing as Mac or if it’s a glitch in the release. I’ve only experienced everything I just mentioned once and it was still my Na Ps2 was still relatively new but now it doesn’t really work that well anymore cuz of its Laser Disk reader problem which I can’t fix cuz I wouldn’t know how to put my Ps2 back together correctly if I took it apart.
