Reptilianne Igknights. Rank 6 plays give you Utopia Beyond. Rank 4 plays give you King of the Feral Imps to search Viper. Steal a 4 / use another 4 igknight to make Reptilianne Hydra, nuking your opponent's monsters and drawing a card for each. You could also tech in a few Odd Eyes Fusions to make Brave Eyes Pendulum Dragon as an alternative way to Zero your opponent's monsters. Additionally, since Viper is a dark, it can also give you Void Ogre. Like 90% of their cards are garbagio, but they've got some decent synergy with Igknights.

As much as I love the Phantom Beasts, I'll readily admit they REALLY have nothing. Honestly, if they just got some love and a retrained card or two, I think they have some good potential. Still, I really never understood why the creators farted out 5 cards for the archtype, but then scrapped it and made aircraft instead.
Frankly I don't even think the guys who made MPB even realized that Phantom Beasts even actually existed until well into development. Their OCG name of Genju is just such an incredibly generic term that I can honestly see some guys in Konami's card R&D going "oh, let's make animal airplanes that make, like, phantom images of themselves in the form of holograms to throw off targeting systems! Those'd literally be mechanical phantom beasts!" and then one guy pointed out that one of Yugi's cards was called a Phantom Beast ( in Japan, anyway ) and they thought it'd be neat little callback. Then when a higher-up later pointed out that they already made Phantom Beast cards they just sort of shrugged their shoulders and went with it anyway because it wasn't like those cards were particularly relevant in any way.
+CajunJ Heck I would personally start with retrained versions of: Gazelle The King Of Mythical Beasts, Berfomet (Even though he already got one with D/D Berfomet) & Chimera The Flying Mythical Beast to actually give them synergy with the other cards. Gazelle could be: When this card is normal summoned. Special summon 1 Phantom Beast monster from your hand.
@@GatorRay At the very least, they could rename Gazelle and Chimera to be full Phantom Beasts, since "Mythical Beast" is its own archetype, now (that has nothing to do with the Phantom Beasts). Great video! I hope those last two episodes are about Chess Archfiends and Guardians. I can´t think of an archetype more worthless than them. Also, I wish that magazine was real.
To be fair, RANK10 so far has been spot on with finding the absolute worst archetypes in this game. So once this series is done the playlist of this will be pretty much a guide on which archetypes to avoid at all cost.
I know its kinda tough to go with Cloudians, especially since I know that among their main issues is that they are just slow. Outside of that, the can drop counters for days and their effects are usable multiple times per turn. Hell, my old Cloudian deck ran all Cloudian cars outside of Eye of the Typhoon and only used Spirit Barrier as a damage defense.
Dark is over-represented as is, throwing a bone to Fire wouldn't have hurt. The same goes for Beast-Warrior. That's what happens when you limit an archetype to an attribute.
Thank god Caninetaur is a thing for getting Cross-Wing and Thunder-Pegasus in the graveyard, and Gazelle can be utilized well in this deck with Unexpected Dai for a quick, dirty one-card setup for Rock-Lizard. Still not really great, but it's slowly improving, I guess.
Btw dunno if many ppl noticed that but you can boost Mecha Phantom Beasts with Crosswing and protect them with Pegasus as they are also considered Phantom Beasts.
Sigh... It's happened. There's a LOTW on an archetype I use. You always hope this day will never arrive, but somewhere in your mind, you know it's coming. (I have a Reactor deck) Actually your video on Venoms made me WANT to construct a Venom deck. (until I was looking for Reptile support, found Aliens, and forgot about Venoms, lol)
the phantom beasts are actually really decent and there's a clear point to it. some monsters support others on the field and the rest get bonuses from phantom beasts being in the graveyard that support phantom beast on field just for being in the graveyard. all they need is a searcher and a miller and maybe another boss monster, maybe a fusion, and they'd be above average.
Reptiliannes, just like you say do have decent effects(Vaskii, Hydra, Naga), they are just a bit too specific to get off. If they make it easier to get your opponent's monsters to 0 by sum support cards it would improve the deck big time.
phantom beast actully had good comeback back on their time because having 3 or even 2 cross wings the trap card and a single wild horn.i know it's too situational but for back in their time it was good
You got Aliens, Bounzer, Itsu, Cloudians (theyre iffy but still roastable), Jinzos, Djinns (which apparently are the ritual slaves, the musical Xyz guys AND some dragon lady), Majestic Mechs, Knights (Queen's, Jack's, etc.), Stygian, Machina, Metallizing Parasite, Batteryman, possibly Iron Chain, Jurrac AND Battleguard. Thats only the trash I saw in my binders.
id like a top ten or 15 list of cards that are still relevant from 2005 or earlier. Up to you to decide whether or not to include banned cards or whatever itd just be nice to get some recognition for the cards of my era seeing as most of it has been power creeped into nothing. might just be filled with blue eyes, BLS, and dark magician now tho
A contender for a Legacy of the Worthless video would be Iron Chains. A mill-focused deck released early in 5DS which is only (or perhaps, depending on who you ask) remembered because everyone splashed an Iron Chain Dragon into their extra deck. I don´t think I´ve ever seen someone use the archetype in a complete deck.
I was just looking at Reactors earlier today, and then I was like "I wonder if RANK10YGO will do a video on them?" and then you did.........................the story is over.
Manticore of Darkness is a card that oddly works well with the Phantom Beasts. But unless you combine them with some other generic support or a secondary archetype they'll get trampled even by Ojamas.
I don't know if anybody's made mention of it yet, but Reactors kind of got a new unintentional support card recently in the field spell 'Heavy Metal Raiders'. While not specifically designed for the archetype, it can give DARK Machines a pretty serious spike/protection during the battle phase and allows them some decent maintenance of their field presence. The only issue comes in the fact that the combined form is WIND, a decision of Konami's that I questioned even all the way back when that card was new.
Reptiliannes can be splashed with Venominon/Venominaga, and you could easily used vanilla Reptile support cards(I'm sure there's a few out there)... It sounds like a fun concept, although you're probably limited to trolling your opponent with staples, mass removals, and face down Naga's for your opponent to ram into until you can set up for a Venominaga. That and, there's a few non Rept cards that turns other monster's attacks to 0, although I can't remember all of them.
Okay I think I can make phantom beasts semi-decent. First have a phantom beast that is a level 4 dark beast whose ability is this card's name is treated as berfomet, so you can have still have fusion material for chimera, and "when this card is summoned you can add any phantom beast card from your deck to your hand" and "you can banish this card from the graveyard to return a banished phantom beast card to your graveyard". Next, you have another one a level 3 earth beast whose ability is" you can prevent the destruction of one phantom beast card by sending this card from your hand to your grave yard" and "while this card is in your graveyard and a phantom beast card is targeted by a card effect you can negate the effect and banish this card" once per turn obviously. Then, make a new boss monster like a level 5 gazelle beast warrior with special summoning condition like tributing a phantom beast monster. Have it get 100 atk for every phantom beast in the graveyard and be able to send one phantom beast monster to the graveyard. Then a field spell obviously, all phantom beasts get 100 atk for all phantom beast in the graveyard. Once per turn you can target one phantom beast card in your graveyard and send another card with the same name to the graveyard from the hand or deck. When this card is destroyed return all banished phantom beast cards to the graveyard. Finally, a continuous trap "when a phantom beast monster on the field is sent to the graveyard add one phantom beast card to your hand" and "when this card is in your graveyard you can banish this card to return one phantom beast card to your hand. Maybe an equip spell that adds 100 atk for every phantom beast monster in your graveyard and piercing damage. Well, that's how I would fix phantom beasts. Is it good maybe not, meta no way in hell, but at least this is in a playable state and thanks to fire fist there's beast warrior support that could help it.
serpent suppression is not for a beat down. It's purpose is to fill your opponent's field with 0atk monsters to summon Vaski, Hydra by Viper's effect, and plus off of Hydra.
I would say it was a thing for even less time than that, considering Lavals w/Rekindling would make Red Nova / Quasar a lot quicker and easier than Flamvells ever could.
caleb zekeri Flamvell Magician is great because it's a Level 4 Tuner that isn't Ultra Rare, doesn't have a built-in drawback, and is compatible with Flamvell Firedog, Rekindling, and Lavals.
i propose Reptilianne Ouroboros: Link-1 bottom left arrow, 0 attack. Requires one reptilianne monster. While in the GY, once per turn (Quick effect) you can target "reptillianne" monsters in your graveyard equals to the number of face up monsters on the field, make the attack of all face up monsters on the field 0. The activation of this effect cannot be negated. If when this effect resolves there are less monsters face up on the field than reptitle-type monster banished, you can shuffle all your banished cards into the deck, and if you do you can add one "snake rain" from your deck or GY to your hand, then draw one card.
Love this series no matter what archtypes are covered. Keep up the great work. Assuming T. G, Infernitys and Morphtronics were too playable as well? Maybe Unicorns if you have five minutes to fill?
T.G. had a number of solid decks associated with it (T.G. Stun, most notoriously). Morphtronics are more "eh" than "ungodly awful." Infernities were downright broken in their day. Unicorns aren't an archetype at all; they don't have anything linking them aside from a vague theme of "Beast-types with -corn in their name", and there are no Unicorn-specific support cards out there (though if they were an archetype, I can definitely see them fitting LOTW happily).
I'm not super into competitive Yu-Gi-Oh so I was just naming off archtypes from 5Ds. I figured Infernities were good in their time based on Archfiend and Launcher still being limited/semi-limited, but I figured the idea of an archtype being based on having no cards in your hand (while a neat idea) could backfire very easily in this day and age, Same with T.Gs with Librarian being limited to this day but Halberd Cannon being a why would you play this over Quasar?
17:42 I can swear I heard that music one time in a Silent Hill game, I've spent 2 hours searching for it and can't find that specific melody anywhere xD
phantom beasts I feel like could be cool if they focused more on fusioning and had their own archetype specific polymerization. They have so many things they are doing atm but if they focused on effects during battle they might have more success.
Does... does Crosswing have boobs? I mean there are some underboob lines and its chest is covered by decency feathers. Then again looking at the card closely it might be its rip cage? The artwork might just be weird. The top part of the upper body just doesn't look right in general. It seems to suddenly make have a twist in its torso...
21:00 The only other dark tuner monster I can think of is Blackwing - Decay the Ill Wind because since its level 4 and you can somehow get Y fi out there you can get darkflattop easily, but as you said if it was 1 level lower it would not be needed.
21:08 Dark Flattop honestly looks like the Naked Sol from Kill la Kill and honestly it would have been a much better card with more synergy with Reactors if it was the Naked Sol from Kill la Kill.

while many would recommend aliens, they had alot of good cards, me im more curious about what other shitty archtypes there are out there
To be fair, RANK10 so far has been spot on with finding the absolute worst archetypes in this game.
Hell, my old Cloudian deck ran all Cloudian cars outside of Eye of the Typhoon and only used Spirit Barrier as a damage defense.
or Sanctuary in the Sky
So SUCC, wi-fi and REEEE. Perfect.
"If they were SLIGHTLY WORSE..." like, for example, if their only decent tuner and their only way to get some consistent plays got banned?
phantom beast rock lizard. its not a beast not a rock not a reptile type. wtf it also seems to be standing on lava and its not fire
Trickstar is basically reactor but a whole lot better and stronger.
i noticed the editing is improving, nice job
Btw dunno if many ppl noticed that but you can boost Mecha Phantom Beasts with Crosswing and protect them with Pegasus as they are also considered Phantom Beasts.
How about Guardians as in: Grarl, Ceal, Kay'est, etc.?
Kehhei! That be fun
I was about to make the same suggestion.
Watching you is the highlight of my day!!!
gosh i love this series, thanks man!
Sigh... It's happened. There's a LOTW on an archetype I use.
You always hope this day will never arrive, but somewhere in your mind, you know it's coming.
(I have a Reactor deck)
Actually your video on Venoms made me WANT to construct a Venom deck.
This aged well
phantom beast actully had good comeback back on their time because having 3 or even 2 cross wings the trap card and a single wild horn.i know it's too situational but for back in their time it was good
You got Aliens, Bounzer, Itsu, Cloudians (theyre iffy but still roastable), Jinzos, Djinns (which apparently are the ritual slaves, the musical Xyz guys AND some dragon lady), Majestic Mechs, Knights (Queen's, Jack's, etc.), Stygian, Machina, Metallizing Parasite, Batteryman, possibly Iron Chain, Jurrac AND Battleguard. Thats only the trash I saw in my binders.
id like a top ten or 15 list of cards that are still relevant from 2005 or earlier. Up to you to decide whether or not to include banned cards or whatever
itd just be nice to get some recognition for the cards of my era seeing as most of it has been power creeped into nothing.
might just be filled with blue eyes, BLS, and dark magician now tho
finaly some justice thanks man i realy love the vid :)
Phantom Beast supports are real now.
Not really, just Chimaera.
Chain Link 1
Mauricio I Shapesnatched First from ya :^)
Yozzoy ay fancy seeing you here. Subterrors 101 was lit 👌👌
Manticore of Darkness is a card that oddly works well with the Phantom Beasts. But unless you combine them with some other generic support or a secondary archetype they'll get trampled even by Ojamas.
he asked for more reptilianne cards, and then we got new reptilianne cards. Rata is a wizard.
5:10
You literally made me laugh out loud in a quiet room of people and forced me to attempt to explain myself... They didn't get it...
As a matter of fact, I am Greek, so thanks for considering.
Great job as always Rata.
Its sooo damn painful sky fire is wind...
just give reactors the ABC treatment and i see a good deck,
like when say a spell is activated, negate its effects and summon this card
Tbh, we already have a better version of reactors.
It's called Psy-Frames.
u right, but i like the way reactors look alot
Skeletal pyschian
Indeed they do look awesome. :)
6:45 *cracks up
20:08 *cracks up again
The Phantom Beasts are so few and far between that you might as well stuff them all into Mecha Phantom Beasts.
I'll suggest it again.
LOTW - Flamvells.
flamvells red nova was a thing for a while though....until rekindling was limited
I would say it was a thing for even less time than that, considering Lavals w/Rekindling would make Red Nova / Quasar a lot quicker and easier than Flamvells ever could.
Flamvell Firedog and Flamvell Magician (the only great Flamvells in the first place) will always be welcome in Rekindling Decks such as Laval. :)
Autobot Starscream Flamvell Magician wouldn't even be good without flamvell dog. It's so bad on its own.
caleb zekeri Flamvell Magician is great because it's a Level 4 Tuner that isn't Ultra Rare, doesn't have a built-in drawback, and is compatible with Flamvell Firedog, Rekindling, and Lavals.
Am i the only one that miss the old legacy of the worthless videos where it only covers one deck?
jordan wu yes because everyone else understands it harder to find decks that can make a 30 min video
You probably are but if it's any consolation, the last two episodes are going to be singular archetypes again
It's ending? Why u do dis to me
war of the worthless my dude.
Please no, this is one of the only things i find watchabe any more
rata needs an e-ratta. hahahahah *insert suffering here*
i propose Reptilianne Ouroboros:
Link-1 bottom left arrow, 0 attack.
MrChillaxin2010 Infernintys as a shitty archetype??? Sure more than 2/3s of the archetype is absolute crap but it was still a fantastic deck
T.G. had a number of solid decks associated with it (T.G. Stun, most notoriously). Morphtronics are more "eh" than "ungodly awful." Infernities were downright broken in their day. Unicorns aren't an archetype at all; they don't have anything linking them aside from a vague theme of "Beast-types with -corn in their name", and there are no Unicorn-specific support cards out there (though if they were an archetype, I can definitely see them fitting LOTW happily).
unicorn are a series again, no archetype :/
I'm not super into competitive Yu-Gi-Oh so I was just naming off archtypes from 5Ds.
I figured Infernities were good in their time based on Archfiend and Launcher still being limited/semi-limited, but I figured the idea of an archtype being based on having no cards in your hand (while a neat idea) could backfire very easily in this day and age,
Same with T.Gs with Librarian being limited to this day but Halberd Cannon being a why would you play this over Quasar?
Yuri012 Spellbooks I know for a fact are not worthless at all
17:42 I can swear I heard that music one time in a Silent Hill game, I've spent 2 hours searching for it and can't find that specific melody anywhere xD
that reptillianne spell that summons tokens can be used with "natural tune" or "law of The normal"
You should cover the Guardians. They literally cannot hit the field without their equip card already being on the field.
Six years late to this comment, but you got your wish!!! Rata did Guardians as one of the last videos in this series.
phantom beasts I feel like could be cool if they focused more on fusioning and had their own archetype specific polymerization. They have so many things they are doing atm but if they focused on effects during battle they might have more success.
One word haunts my very existence gooshpickles
i find it interesting how much bigger the balls of some people get once they have the anonymity of the web on their side...
What are you talking about?
Does... does Crosswing have boobs? I mean there are some underboob lines and its chest is covered by decency feathers. Then again looking at the card closely it might be its rip cage? The artwork might just be weird. The top part of the upper body just doesn't look right in general. It seems to suddenly make have a twist in its torso...
21:00 The only other dark tuner monster I can think of is Blackwing - Decay the Ill Wind because since its level 4 and you can somehow get Y fi out there you can get darkflattop easily, but as you said if it was 1 level lower it would not be needed.
21:14 I learned that the hard way.
I got so happy when I saw this love your vids
If Reptilliannes had more presence and effects to get reduction going quicker, i imagine it would play similarly to Aliens minus the counters
games the reptilliannes, I think you should have mentioned the equip spell that was released with them, Molting Escape.
21:08 Dark Flattop honestly looks like the Naked Sol from Kill la Kill and honestly it would have been a much better card with more synergy with Reactors if it was the Naked Sol from Kill la Kill.
Guys, guys..... Reptilianne and Venom deck... T O G E T H E R
WhiteKyurem Gaming they wouldn't senergize at all (venom swamp, if you're wondering what I'm referring to)
13:00 Didn't Yusei have an equip spell in the Manga that did this but better? Some sort of rust sword, if I remember correctly...
