I weigh 260lb so 5th gear was pretty useless with my 22 until i slapped in that JT 14t much better now and will actually pull me on level ground by releasing the clutch(also have the TST Worx Airbox Cover, Shinko Mobbers, 60% Clutch Springs/Billet Plate, and Kitaco Super Oil Pump, Reset ECM)
My 2023 grom has the same low gear low speed straight cut gear whine. is that normal on these bikes or is something out of wack? The dealer couldn't give me a solid answer and id like to know before i bring it in.
123lbs, DHM S1 cam, cjr tune and drow carbon fiber intake with a 14tooth sprocket on my 23 Monkey and Ive topped out at 78mph

i've hit 69mph on my grom, and it's bone stock
starting to want to put mods on now though.
73 mpg full tuck , stock minus exhaust . But I weigh 130

Are 3rd gen Grom sprocket shaft dimensions different than 2nd gen, or are they cross compatible ?

I’m pretty sure it’s normal mine was more noticeable because I ran the smaller sprocket and no exhaust
Stock oil is 10/30 ,it's cold there, so you need that ,get semi synthetic,,and proper sharpish man,,,

Does changing sprokets actually mess with the engine?
Definitely especially with torque or top speed depending on the size sprocket
Does the 14 tooth make it climb hills better ? Does it give 5th gear more liveliness ?
The 14 tooth gives more acceleration you lose out on top speed hardly noticeable tho
@trentbishop7793 in this case it's both. With more torque you accelerate quicker

65 mph flat road if going down hill can easily hit 70
