Or take a bike tire cut it to wrap around the plastic ones and self tap screws to hold it on. That's what we did and it rips the gears out. There plastic lol. But it works good for a while. I used mud type bike tire.
My father put a car. Battery in my oldest son's power wheels years ago (son Is now 23, so you can imagine this wasn't yesterday). It doesn't make them faster, but it DOES extended the battery life from a couple of hours to sometimes a few days! Your kid will get way more use out of their ride on for sure!
My son had the home depot car, looks similar to the lighting McQueen. I put 2 12 volt power wheel batteries which made it 24 volts and bicycle tires for tread. And it did wheelies easy.
Cant wait to do this once my baby"s old enough to drive them. Its just seeing their happy little smiles that fill you with joy 😄Power wheels are abundant in my area so Im hoping i"ll find a nice Ford or Mustang n the coming years
18v vs 12v. Run Milwaukee batteries in series, keep adding until its unsafe? jk. I got an 8 month old, can't wait for power wheel days. 2x18 = twice as fast, I think the motors will burn up pretty quick.
Much respect to JD its awesome to see the little things he does for his boys they are definitely going to be in the car scene when they get older you can already see how much they enjoy it now .. I ran into jd in a Walmart hes really a cool guy he stood and talked with me for about 40 minutes hope to get to meet him again
Hey JD. So funny to see two grown men gettin' hype about buying used cars for their kids.😁 Haha. Gotta love it! Actually, that seems like a great price for those PWs y'all picked up. Your boys already have cars in their blood and teaching them how to tinker with them is a great life lesson. It's so cool to get out there and have fun with your kids like that and as a bonus, showing them basic mechanical and electrical systems at an early age will help them in life. You're doing it right, JD.👍😎 Y'all have fun out there. Shoutout to #teamlaura . I hope she's doing well.✌
When I was 4 or 5(im 11 now) my dad added a car battery to a car he was going to give to me. I didn't have a helmet on bc my dad didn't know about the speed. When he realized the speed, I was gone zooming. When I was about to hit the fence, I just slowed down and turned. I could've got brain or head damage. Anyways, it was pretty wild back then, have a good day/night!
Get Rc motors from the hobby shop. They make a huge difference. Did it a few years ago along with motorcycle batteries in series for 24volts. The tires were gone that day lol... there's little room to play with gearing if your handy enough to do little more modifying.
I know this video is old but just picked up a powerwheels but the power only works when you turn the wheel side to side but won’t just go forward or turn on. Any recommendations?
One question please, I have bought a car for my son and I changed the motors, I put in higher revs. my problem is that it works for 15 seconds and then it turns off by itself and turns on after 5 seconds. this happens constantly. it had a 12v battery 4.5Ah and I put a new 12v 9Ah one but it still does the same thing. Do you know what the problem is? Can you help me?
The car battery allows for an extra amps to the motor when under load. Higher voltage higher speed, higher the amps, the longer runtime available voltage on the battery. That is why he did not slow down when pulling you. Go to car battery is like doing a diesel swap conversion, can you do it for the power not the top speed
Walmart sells 12v lawn tractor batteries...or even a motorcycle battery will work. I put one in my daughters Barbie Beetle 'Dune' PowerWheels, and then took bicycle tires and splayed them opne and wrapped the plastic wheels with them. Now its an off road monster!! ...and FAST! Plus it recharges within hrs on a standard vehicle battery charger not 12-18 hrs like PW batteries.
I did the same to my daughter's power wheels jeep but I used 18v DeWalt batteries since there's only two terminals on them, makes it easy. We tried a 24v also and it worked great for about a day until it burned the motors in the wheels up. My neighbor put a 24v in his kids and it stripped the gears out. So 18v seems to be perfect. Also you don't want to add rubber to your tires or use the cars that have the rubber strip built into the tire. The tires being able to spin work as a clutch for the added volts.
Need some advice i upgraded my childs ride on bike from 12v to 24v, the gear has sheared on motor , what is the best option for fix?? Do i get a motor with a metal sprocket or would that still shear bigger gears in gear box or do i downgrade battery to 18volts, such a shame as kids were loving it
It will cook it I done it my son loves to ride last a few days before the motors broke literally the internals broke on them but Amazon has bigger motors these 12v motors with 12000 rmp are what coke standard if you want a real lasting upgrade buy the 40v 40000 rpm motors it will last and it will be FAST
Hi, I bought my son a Camaro 1 year ago and the battery already died and won’t recharge anymore. How can I replace the battery? He loves this car and I don’t wanna buy a new one and the same thing happens again.
I put a 20v in my son's broken lightening McQueen everytime he goes he pops a wheelie and it won't drop down how did u get it to not pop up We don't mind a small wheelie but it needs to come back down
So i bought a controller from amazon when i ordered the adapter however i have had issues with blowing fuses and battery dying prematurely. Do you have any insight what i can do to change it up so that it doesnt die so fast and not blow fuses? Im using a lightning mcqueen and an action wheels yamaha raptor for my kid.
One of my boys (twins) is named Logan. Lol. I just purchased for this coning Christmas my kids first Power Wheels. It is a Jurassic Park Jeep Wrangler because i wanted a two seater so both my boys could sit in it. They are going to love it. That Mustang though is awesome.
the controller and motor are likely designed for 12v....id say u can get away with 18v but surely 24v will overtime wear out controller/motor from added torque.... could possibly even fry circuits once powered on
Hey there! Just a quick recommendation make sure the battery is a sealed non spillable battery as the acid can hurt your kids and there often not sealed on car batterys
Thank you for this. Im dropping a redtop optima into my thrift store $5.00 f150 find. was curious to their performance with that size weight out front. It’ll be just fine for my daughter. Also building a 5 speaker sound system with an 8” woofer in the bed
Do what you did with the mustang to the jeep. It won’t slide around like the mustang on asphalt but my 5yo drifts around the trees and flies through the yard. He loves it. Don’t do a dewalt 20v. The wires get too hot and not sure if the motors can handle the voltage for an extended period of time even with upgraded wires. 18v Milwaukee has lasted about 2 years in his gator and about 6mo in the Jeep. No issues.
12v is all you have , regardless what battery it comes from. You can run those batteries in Series, which doubles the voltage. Try 2 Milwaukee 18v batteries in Series.
You should put a good thick coat of Flex Seal on the Mustang tires
True
I would put a tiny bike tire
Or take a bike tire cut it to wrap around the plastic ones and self tap screws to hold it on. That's what we did and it rips the gears out. There plastic lol. But it works good for a while. I used mud type bike tire.
Bruhhhhhh
@@Gsxr_ghostzz bike tires are pretty thin. Not sure if it would work
It is awesome seeing a dad spend time with his kids. Keep up the good work. 🙂
It really is
I don’t know if you will see this but you should put a weed eater or weed wacker motor inside of the lambo or mustang
He should but a little dirt bike motor in
*weed eater*
*weed eater*
@Reid Dorian yea, I have been using InstaFlixxer for months myself :)
@Reid Dorian Yup, have been watching on instaflixxer for since december myself =)
Its actually impressive that a child like him can drift a mustang
He hasn't hit a crowd yet
@@gameeverydaygamer3527 ye but that’s gunna be cool
You'd be surprised at what the new age kids can do.
its not a mustang its a powereheels
ik bruh
This is so cool. I always wanted one of these as a kid but never got one. Cheers to you and the fam.
BTW your son making burn out sounds in the back was perhaps the best thing I have seen online this week. Just hilarious
For sure I agree...So nice to get away from all the craziness going on.

motorcycle battery or a honda fit battery would have been small enough.
18v vs 12v. Run Milwaukee batteries in series, keep adding until its unsafe? jk. I got an 8 month old, can't wait for power wheel days. 2x18 = twice as fast, I think the motors will burn up pretty quick.
How did you make out
Try putting tractor wheels on the back so we don’t burn them out so fast
These kids are lucky
Me too I only have two power wheels

Yeah, right! I'll do the same with my kids! Kudos to this guy!👌🙏
10:47 geez he be flexing those drift skills I remember on a go kart drifting I lost control and then sinned out 😂
I would put the car battery in the cummins and make a trailer to pull behind it for the mustang
Or a gooseneck
I was just thinking of that
Nice idea
i just purchased my son his first one for xmas- cannot wait until we add more to the collection! i am more excited than my son!

Volt is speed and amp is torque. The 12 volt will go up the hill and tow you and the 18 volt will go fast.
KnLp
True thats why it wasn't going fast but its torque pulled him
Fred Ruebusch is so good at all the best thing ever
The heavy battery in the front is good for flipping on a hill
I think it's going to go like a rokit
Lots of your Hondas use Group 51 batteries that are probably half the size and weight of that one you tried out of the C10 just for future reference.
First thing I thought of lol!!!
That’s not a bad idea, I just used what I had.
Try and put 2x small 12 v batteries in
What kind of
Motors did you put?
Liam seems like the coolest little kid. I will be interesting to see what he gets into when he gets older.
It’s going to be trouble.
Jump boxers are pretty awesome in power wheels. Just picked up a kid trax Corvette c5r for my nephew. Gotta get a battery in it
Nice!! Me n my kiddos are looking to get like you guys my mann… i plan to do just this!! Great work the kids are loving it
in 20yrs old bought a power wheel for $100 anf i want to do this bc it has a massive gap in the back which im pretty happy about
I installed bike battery.. Car battery would be too heavy... Wht are the options we have for higher RPM 12v motor...!

I have an amg and the battery is not under the seat? Gotta be under the hood but I don't know how to open it. Any ideas
Little dude counter steers! Thats awesome!!
I have a cart of this, it's only 1 week since I bought it, but now it has a problem, it accelerates by itself and doesn't stop until they turn off
Have you got a video of what you did on the Mustang? Got a 20v on my kids car. Seeing 15v at the motors. Still too slow.
I know this video is old but just picked up a powerwheels but the power only works when you turn the wheel side to side but won’t just go forward or turn on. Any recommendations?

Where can I find this battery adapter please o. Linke
That's is owesome ,those boys are growing up happy!!
I did the adapter with a 18V ryoby battery on my sons powerwheels mustang but only lasts 2-3 sec then have to restart the car. Any suggestions?
Where do you get the adapter

I did this with my boys 12v ranger same power BUT 🔋 we get around 20 ta 30 km driving distance. He loves it well worth it.

Step by step on how you install Milwaukee drill. Thanks
has your son tried using the mustang on the grass or can you make a mini dirt track on your land to save on wheel wear
12 v is 12v, the stang is faster because it was 18v.. if you want faster your next step is two 12v In series for 24v....
This is so precious. Top dad! 😊

Have you ever heard of tank power wheels. They sell them at Walmart look it up on google
Yeah I saw them at Walmart.
I think it's cool that the gun can shoot foom darts and thanks for replying
When I was his age I had one that looked like a cab over big truck
When I was his age we would chase tractor tire through village with stick
Do you need a fuse? Or this is fine direct connection is fine
You should take a rc moter that can go really fastens pit it on the power wheels and see if it goes faster
They come with 550 silver cans the traxxas 12t drop in and melt the gearboxes on 24v
A traxis rc car modor
@@tylernelson7704 yes
I’d like to see you put an impact battery in and see what it does
Does it matter if I get the 3amp 18v Milwaukee batteries or the 12amp versions?
Where do you get the adapter for the power wheels ?
Hey i was thinking you could put rubber wheels on that thing it wouldnt drift as much but itd go a hell of alot faster
Love the videos! In need of some quick help. Bought new might max 12v 12aph battery and charged it up but truck is not turning on 😅

Can I fit a 12v lead acid motorcycle straight in?
I did a 18/20v conversion on my sons 12v PW dune racer and the battery seems to get hot. Do you have this issue?
I have done wet with my deep doesn’t go faster, but it does take more time to one of the towels so it is
You should try a 120v extension cord on the power wheels.
Lol 😲
What would happen if you were to put rubber strips on the power wheel tires?
It strips the gears out. I learned the hard way. The tires being able to spin act as a clutch

What about a Kobalt or Flex 24v drill battery?
can u put rubber tires on

I did the car battery on my kids rides ... Works like a boss
Yeah it last forever
